I'll keep it short. If you're looking for something super fast paced with guns like COD... then move along, this gamemisnt for you. This game was great! Very accurate to what I imagine it would have been like. Running around throwing spears and rocks at your enemies, or shorting arrows and bashing skulls in with a club. The story is a bit bland, but the fact you have to support and assist in the survival of you tribe and settlement makes up for it. There's also a suprising amount of weapon variety considering the time period. The night and day cycle is a blast, especially considering how dangerous it is at night; high risk, high reward. Definitely worth playing through, if you're on the fence it wouldn't hurt to wait for a price drop.

Fans of the farcry series may not like this title because it is very different from others in the series but I personally enjoy this game. I've played 15 plus hours and there isn't much that I can gripe about other than how soulless the eyes look. One other complaint is that enemies don't seem to react(TM) when you hit them. Other than that it is a beautiful game with a vast map that changes depending on where you are. There is also a nice Night\Day cycle. There are plenty of animals to hunt\tame but the human-esk enemies seem to have the same classes and structure. The crafting system is smooth and savaging for items is fairly simple but time consuming. All in all the game is solid with only a few errors. I gave it an 8\10.

This is a really fun take on the Far cry series which is built on guns vehicles and mayhem. The pre historic weapons and animals make for a different Far Cry experience that is very good but not perfect

Far Cry Primal is a brutal and savage game. The graphics are right in line with the entire series…just beautiful. Yes, the storyline is thin but the combat can be challenging and exciting. You have to keep your head on a swivel because basically everything in the world is looking to devour you! It got a score of 7.9 which I thought was a little low, but I understand why - with the story line being rather thin and the missions somewhat repetitive. But there's something about the bloody, barbaric action that is rather gratifying and sucks you in!

If you enjoy the Far cry series, this won't disappoint. Yes, there are no guns, but this still really feels like far cry. Worth the price

As the title of this review might allude, this game is not like its predecessors. Far Cry Primal allows the player to tap into their surroundings, as well as use animals and stone-age weapons to fight. The premise of Far Cry Primal is the same as its predecessors in spirit, but the overall experience and execution is so vastly different that it's difficult to even compare this addition to the canon of the rest of the series. While there are thrills to be found in the world of Ouros, the game does not leave the player feeling powerful and able to take on the world like its more modern predecessors. However, this is, by no means, a bad thing.
Bottom line, play the game for yourself - understand that it won't be a run and gun game like its predecessors, and enjoy it for what it is. Even still, buy this game at a discount - I felt it that the narrative and repetitive game-play was not worth the full price of $60.

Very enjoyable. A little different then the other games, no guns, but I liked it even more. Taming the animals is boss.

A Fun Entry in the Far Cry Series

As many other reviewers have said about this game it follows the same formula as Far Cry 4, albeit in a prehistoric setting. Capture outposts, hunt animals, rescue NPCs to name some of the main activities. This isn't necessarily a bad thing. Far Cry 4 was a great game but the story isn't as involving without the faction choices and understandable dialog (no one in the game speaks English so it's all subtitled which I'm not a fan of. I guess they did this for "authenticity" although I don't know how much it really adds to be honest).
It has quite a bit to do, though, it took me a little over 30 hours to do everything, which included getting the platinum trophy. If you are a trophy hunter you should consider this game for sure. You pretty much get the trophy for just playing the game.
Bottom line: Is it a fun game? Yes. Is it better than Far Cry 4? Nope. Is it worth 30ish dollars? Yessir. Should you buy this game? I think so.

The story is good, there are a lot of side quests and places to explore in a very open platform. However, there is no way to avoid killing animals so if this is not your thing, I'd stay away. Other then that, it's got amazing graphics, sound and keeps you engaged for hours.

This game at least to me feels different from the previous 3 games from this series that I have played. But I don't mind that at all. I like the game for what it is, which is I would say, sort of a simulator of life in the stone age. I also liked the fact that they tried to recreate a prehistoric language instead of going with any contemporary language.

Thought for a moment this was just going to be Far cry 4 with a new skin, but it is definitely more than that. One function I truly enjoy is the taming of animals. Would share more, but do not want to spoil it for anyone.

I never got the chance to play farcry 4 so I'm not sure how that game is. I've seen some reviews say they didn't like it because it's basically farcry 4 with hunting, but I I've put hours into this game and I like it. My daughter loves playing it with me. I've seen some things about glitches and stuff but I haven't had a problem with anything and I think it was worth what I paid for it.

If you liked Far Cry 3 and Far Cry 4 I would highly recomend playing this. If neither of those kept you interested than this may not either. Overall it has great graphics and good gameplay. The collection of things is a bit more in depth than the previous two series, and gameplay is a little different which keeps it interesting. I've highly enjoyed this title.

One of the best Far Cry's created and provides a sense of survival with a whole new realm of game. If you are a fan of the series I highly recommend this game. It's a nice break from the guns and explosions that we've come to enjoy but this Far Cry expresses those weapons in a whole new way. Two thumbs way up!

Blast From the Past!

This is a really unique twist for the Far Cry series with the setting in the prehistoric past.
There's plenty of places to go, people to see and things to do as usual but there are no modern conveniences using only bows and arrows, spears, fire and some early forms of chemical warfare. Transportation is usually on foot until you learn "Beast Mastering" where you can ride the larger animals that can be tamed. The animals can also follow your orders to attack the enemy. I especially like the Saber Tooth Tiger since they are fast, deadly and can take a beating before giving out.
The graphics and are excellent and the game is also a good way to learn about prehistoric animals.
A great addition to the Far Cry series!

I have enjoyed the game so far. Not too many weapons to choose from when you start, but it is very rewarding getting headshots with a bow. I would say this game is worth a $29.99 or $39.99 price tag. If you are looking to pick up this game, wait until it goes on sale.
