Excellent Prime lens for my Sony A7II

Great all around high quality lens that I had been looking for. The zoom lens are OK, but I really like a prime lens and this one delivers super sharp, clear, great contrast pictures. The lens is light weight and opens up to F1.8 for those creamy backgrounds. Don't be fooled in to spending nearly a grand for a Zeiss lens when this one from Sony is just a good. Yes just as good I took pictures with both and returned the Zeiss as it just wasn't any better than the Sony, Buy one you won't be disappointed. I have been taking pictures for 60 years used all kind of gear large format to Minox. Best buy had a open box special on this lens and it is pretty much all I need.

Compared to Zeiss 1.8/55, it's a lot cheaper. For an average photographer that want better aperture, you can't beat the price.

Prime Lens for good price

I was so happy I bought it because it gives me best potrait pictures and you don't have to zoom it to get your main focus.

Great Lens, Does Not Zoom

Wouldn’t use for video where you are recording audio from the camera due to focus motor being quite loud.

Kindve pricey for a nifty fifty and very slow AF speed but produces a decent image for its price. Will later replace with the zeiss 55mm F/1.8 or sigma art 50mm
