Great lens for the price. I'm not a professional, but this takes solid portraits and helps with low light shots because of the large aperture. Only downside is it's a fixed focal length, meaning you can't zoom, so you have to physically move around to get the ideal shot. I use this on a Sony A6000.

This lens is starting to grow on me, but the motorized focus adjuster goes in and out and in and out every time that I want to take a picture and it doesn't always capture it on the first try. BUT, if you change your setting to Auto, the camera and the lens work very well capture crisp images. I don't usually use auto, but I will with this lens for the time being. I do use it with manuel focus and I have no problems with the motorized focus. The lens hood is great for covering the lens, which pops out when focusing, so that you will not get any dust or moisture, since the lens is not weatherproofed. It's light. Made of durable plastic, but it does have the metal with the electronics when you mount it to your camera. It feels good. Other than that, I am starting to like it. I have the Sony a7s II. Also, with video, the lens focuses a tad bit too slow, but, I'll need to work around that too. So car, I can just use manuel focus. The lens is sharp, though. Nice colors out of it.

Decent lens. For me it was nothing to brag about. It took decent photos. Focus was a little off and depth of field wasnt great. I could have received a detective lens; but overall decent lens.

Good quality and affordable lense. This is what lense should be all about. Im glad that best buy knows what their costumers needs.

Here's another steal! Deal of the day was 50 bucks cheaper. It's a prime lense but that fifty nifty never fails. Remember it's not the equipment it's how you use it! Or what ever they say. It is A little louder but cmon have you been outside? No one is gonna run up to you telling you to shut that thing up.

Got this open box item and it was a pristine "like new" condition, worker flawlessly and the pickup at the store experience was smooth. not my first open box amaizing experience from Best Buy.

This is my honest review of the Sony 50mm f/1.8. I've owned lots of 50mm f/1.8 during my 10 years of being a photographer and this one is just "okay". it's like the nifty fifty for Nikon. Slower than you really want it to be but gets the job done. It's okay for still photos, if you're patience, I wouldn't recommend it for sport or fast action as the autofocus is slower than any other newer Sony lens. But it works and the image quality is pretty stellar. For Video, I wouldn't rely on this if you need accurate autofocus that's quick enough. If you're just manual focusing okay then. It's a good lens, You just have to be patience while using it.

Pleasantly surprised by the very sharp quality of this lens at all apertures. Focus is slower than higher end lenses but very usable for what I do and not such a problem as I expected. Sometimes it does hunt in close ups. For the money this was a great value and is now one of my favorite lenses

Great stater lens for portrait photos. Images come out clear

Let me start this off by saying this is NOT the worst lens I’ve ever used, not at all. If you’re on a budget or just starting out and you absolutely need a cheap prime lens then this is for you, otherwise, steer clear from this one. The picture qualtiy is okay but not great. The lens has a lot of aberration around edges. Having the bokeh at a low price is nice however. I returned this lens because I wasnt happy with it, I would have also liked to have used this for video but this is not the OSS varrient meaning it doesnt have any kind of stablization. It wasn’t too bad for photos but for video it was unusable. They do have a OSS version which costs $100 more but I would save up for a better quality lens. I was slightly dissapointed with Sony on this one just because it has no quality aspects to it, usually their products have at least one or two things good about them.

The second version of this lens (SEL50F18F/2) performs phenomenally well. It's sharp wide open, very fast, and the bokeh is fantastic for a budget lens. Size is incredible, as well as the weight. And paired with a camera with IBIS or gimbal, your shots will be sharp. Even shot some portraits with a Sony A6100 and got awesome files! The feel of this lens is a good mix between quality and budget. I picked it up at a discounted price and am truly very happy. I always find myself reaching in for this little guy more often than not!

Silid lense. I have had this for almost 3 months and i must confess i realy enjoy shooting videos and even unplanned picture eith it. The focal point and background blur is amazing. Outperformed my expectations with extra crisp and sharp picture quality. It is easy smooth to mount and take off my sony zv e10 camera. Honestly i will recommend anyone to buy this for that cool price. I wanna get an extra just in case before the price shoots up.

The biggest concern people have with this lens is the autofocus. Is the AF super fast? No. Is the AF a little loud? Yes. However, the point is that this is a great little 50mm for an incredible price. If the AF noise/speed is a sticking point for you - just use MF and you'll be happy with the sharpness and image quality

Love the lens for its portrait abilities. After using this lens, I could see the difference between our phones can’t do :)

this looked absolutely brand new! It was a great price for the excellent condition it came in, even with the original box!

This lens delivers great photos, far beyond any expectations you might have from the price. Images look clear, and color is great. A good budget lens. It does have a plastic body, but the mounting ring is metal and the connection, to the camera body, is very snug, and solid. If you look around the net, for reviews, you will find some that trash the auto focus functionality. It may be a quick bit slower than a lens costing 4 to 10 times as much, but, on a Sony camera, the described problem can be fixed with a simple firmware upgrade to your camera. A good buy, good price, good pictures.

This lens is amazing for beginners or pros. It gives you sharp and amazing photos.
