    Great quality and great lens overall. Only thing is that it doesnt have zoom which is a low, but for the price i think the low light photograhy ll be perfect

    Great lens but keep in mind that you do have to stand very far from the object you’re shooting. Gives a blurry / dreamy background and takes super great, high quality photos!

    Good lens, image quality is really goog. For videos where subjects move a lot I will not recomend because of poor speed when focusing For none moving objects photography I like it and will recomend

    As a beginner this is a great entry level lens. I use this to take shot of products. This is an inexpensive way to see what a difference switching lenses actually does. Also if later you decide to buy a more expensive 50mm, this will make you appreciate the new one and why you spending more money.

    Start with the good. For the price, it's got great image quality. It's small and feels decent in the hand and on the camera. Of course there are much better FE 50/55mm lenses for the a7, but their prices are much higher. I've read complaints still about the price: yes, Canon and Nikon have even cheaper nifty fifties, but this is the cheapest FE lens and I'd still call it a good value if you can't afford the better options. Now, the not so good. So plenty of professional reviews have covered this, the Auto Focus is s..l..o..w. It rakes focus back and forth quite a bit each time you activate the autofocus even if you are focusing on the same object. If you have pre-focus on, you will notice moving every couple seconds as well, which I found quite annoying. Also the sound is noticeable, this is a cheap AF motor and it shows. One bonus though, because of the motor, if you like using MF or DMF, this focus by wire actually feels almost like you are using a direct focus mechanism. Compared: I have used the Sony/Zeiss 55mm and it is totally silent and very very fast. Super sharp, better bokeh, wonderful handling. If you can afford it, that's the lens to get. If you have APSC (a6000, NEX, etc), I would suggest the original SEL50F18 if you never plan to move up to full frame. It's a great lens and has the silent and fast AF motor. Overall I would still recommend this lens as long as you know the shortcomings, but I would not call it a great lens, good 4 star performance.

    I like the quality it produced BUT the auto focus and noise is way too Obnoxious. Sony could have done better with this one. non the less, great lens for the price.

    Great prime lens to start with for the beginners. Best budget nifty fifty lens for sony ecosystem. These lens struggle a lot in low light to autofocus, but can’t really complain for the price and pictures it delivers are stunning.

    I shot 50 1.8 on canon dslr for awhile and recently made the switch to mirrorless and this is definitly a cheap good starter lens. Package came in good quality and lens was perfect

    Great beginner lens! Ive been using this lens a lot the past few months and the quality of the pictures has been great. I was using a 28-70mm lens that came with my a7ll prior and u can see a huge difference in how “crisp” the photos came out. Keep in mind this is a fixed lens so u have to get used to getting it to focus on what u actually want showing in frame. Other than that great beginner fixed lens, great photos/videos, for the price I have no complaints.
