I use this lense for my kids portraits and my barber pictures. It does everything i need it to do. I read some reviews talking about how slow it is in autofocus and the picture quality and my reply is u get wat u pay for. Its one of the cheapest lenses sony makes. Nonetheless a great lense for the price i have absolutely no issue with this lense at all. I paired it w/ a sony a7riv simply to jus have something to shoot with upon purchase until i can get another lense because I completely switched from canon and im starting from scratch. This lense on 50 full frame is waaay wider than on my canon crop sensor so it took some getting used to but it literally was jus an adjustment. Good buy

Great lens

BUT I tried it on a newer Sony and it worked beautifully. Just double check if it’s compatible with your camera before purchasing.

This Camera Changed My Life

INSANE Good quality for a cheaper lens

Fast prime for an unbelievable price

For a 50mm prime 1.8 that can be had for under $200 there is nothing else that comes close. Paired with my A7iii I'm almost always happy with the result. The af is slow and a little noisy but it never misses. Well worth the $170 paid on sale.

Fantastic lens!

That came with a Sony FE 28-70 mm F3.5-5.6 OSS kit lens. Let me tell you, that kit lens is NOTHING compared to this 50mm f/1.8 lens. Obviously, there is some zoom in that kit lens, but it does not take sharp pictures like this little guy does. Super crisp and detailed shots! You will not regret buying this lens! It takes great landscape shots as well as superb portraits! The bokeh is really nice. Highly recommended! And especially for the price. DO IT! BUY IT!

Great Lens, No Regrets!

Colors are true and crisp. Images are sharp. AF is good. Bokeh is on point. Well worth the money. Construction is good, and as expected for the price range. Love how lightweight it is. Easy walk around lens. Hood is longer than I would like, but aside from that there are no complaints.

Great zoom lense at a reasonable price

It is a lot more mobile than expected and I didn't have any arm fatigue after a 4 hour shoot on a boat.

I added a picture I took with this lens using my A7II.

Nifty fifty for Sony E-Mount!

The picture quality is great for how cheap it is. It’s also super compact so it’s great for travel or street photography. It’s a fixed 50mm focal length so you will have to move around to get the composition you want, but that in the end makes you a better photographer I believe.
