Customers are saying

Customers have good things to say about the image quality, price, ease of use, low light performance, weight, and size of the FE 50mm f/1.8 Standard Prime Lens. Many appreciate its affordability and how lightweight and compact it is. However, some customers note that the autofocus could be improved, and some have mentioned that it produces some noticeable noise. The lens is generally well-regarded for its performance and value.

Good lens. Best priced Sony lens. Could be sharper but it’s more than what you would expect for the price.

I have only two lenses one for Portraits and one for Sports photography. sony's 50 mm is best suited for indoor and outdoor Portraits. It is very much affordable and a must for portraits and landscapes too. f1.8 is fast enough in low light conditions but sometimes searches for focus. Can be used for videography too.
