For close-up pics using my new Sony A7RIII, this lens does a great job. With a F/1.8 lens, it can capture picture sin low light conditions with ease. Picture clarity is excellent.

Nice lens! Just a fixed lens so super zoomed in, but that’s what you buy. Love the ease of use though! Great quality as well!

Good fast lens but not good for videos since auto focus is noisy and sometimes hunt to much. Great for portraits. So if your looking for a 50mm for videos I would recommend the 50mm/1.8 with OSS.

I purchased the Sony 50mm 1.8 for my a6000. The lens has excellent clarity and nice sharpness. If you are looking for a nice portrait lens for your cop sensor camera this is the way to go.

I use this lense on my a6000 and a6500, it produces beautiful images even with the crop factor on apsc bodies. It's usually my go to for street photography and when I want that smooth bokeh.

Great lens for the price but the auto focus is really slow if you plan on recording videos. Not to mention it’s fairly loud and hunts a lot but besides that the lens is great for pictures.

After doing some research, I decided on purchasing the SONY FE 50mm F/1.8. The lens is sharp and an excellent prime lens at an affordable price. I definitely would recommend this lens. Lots of dynamic range! You'll love it!

Affordable lens with Tremendous quality. 50mm with 1.8 aperture for awesome depth of field. I personally use it for portrait photography and shooting music videos.

It you want to use this for video, then keep in mind it has a VERY noisy autofocus motor. So you’ll need external sound that’s not very close to the camera. Besides that it focuses well and has great bokeh on my A7III

This was a good lens for a beginner, but it doesn’t come with zoom. Eventually I had to return it, and get one that is a wide angle lens that comes with zoom. It’s nice to take pictures with if you’re going to a family function.

Great lens for the price! The only complaints I have is the slow and randomly accurate autofocus. Also, the sound of the autofocus mechanisms in the lens are fairly loud. As I mentioned before, for the price you cannot beat it.

It's a nifty fifty, you can't go wrong with this if you're on a budget for stills. You get what you pay for, the bokeh isn't the greatest and there is quite a bit of focus breathing/hunting when using this for video.

Sony's nifty fifty competes with any other major manufacture. Just remember, you get what you pay for. This is a good lens but a great value. It suffers from chromatic aberrations and some fall off in the edges, but is wonderfully sharp.
