This was purchased to give me more flexibility than the standard kit Lens for portraits. Autofocus is quick and accurate and Auto Eye focus works very well. Plan to use this lens on a Full Frame Sony in the future perhaps a Sony A7 III.

Great lens for street portrait photography

The focus and bokeh for this lens is perfect for the shots I'm trying to capture. It's also feels very well made and is lightweight.

If you use the camera outside of a studio setting, this is all you need. Don't be tempted to go for the 1.4 unless you like carrying heavy things and have lots of money. So pretty much a gigachad.

One of the better Sony native lens that was made.

It is sharp and perfect lens for portraits in an affordable price. The G-master or Zeiss version is almost 1k more. You do get some electronic features on the upgraded one, but is it worth the money?

Excellent giant for good price

Awesome glass

Been looking for my preferred lens for a long time I had many others. But this focal length is my style. Did a run n gun BD party for fun and was blown away by the quality of video. Outstanding Picture.

Very nice 85mm !!

I won’t say it’s any better or worse than my old trusty Nikon 1.8 right in that ball park. I haven’t used it enough to really get into the gritty, but it’s a daily worker for me now.

Low-profile, sleeping dragon of a lens. AF is crazy quick in photo and video. Probably the best value ~$500 purchase I’ve made in my camera kit. It won’t disappoint. Period.
