This is a great lens and gives more expensive sony lenses a run for their money. Have used it for almost a year and it almost never comes off the camera for portraits.

I BOUGHT THIS FOR MY NEW SONY A7 ii CAMERA. AND SO FAR I HAVE HAD NO ISSUES. NOW I JUST NEED TO GO OUT THERE AND CAPTURE THE WORLD.

Fast to focus even in low light. Great for indoor photos. Would have preferred the 50 with this focusing system.

Great lense for landscape photography and with an optional fisheye adapter, you add new dimension to your shot.

I tried it for a little while but i think it would be better to get a 1.2 or 1.4

When the stars were aligned it takes beautiful crisp shots. I didn't really link the way it responded to the Sony A6000 AF

This is a great prime lens for portraits. Very neat quality. It is also very light to carry around.

I LOVE IT! Ever since i switched from Canon to Sony I keep finding reasons to never go back. This lens is my first of many lens I plan to purchase but honestly I'm not sure if i'm going to need any for a long time. I'm using it for portraits and its definitely perfect for it. It was between this lens and the Sigma 85mm f/1.4, glad I took this one for half the price. Trust me you wont be disappointed in this lens. Good job, Sony!

This lens is everything I expected and more! It’s a perfect pair with my Sony A7ii. Incredibly fast auto focus, along with sharp clear images. I pushed my iso way up just to test the grain and was shocked at how clear the images were! If you have it to spend, I highly recommend this lens for anyone’s collection!

The Sony FE 85mm f/1.8 lens is superb to use, and also superb in many ways in terms of its performance. The lower cost compared to most 85mm lens does not seem to have reduced the performance at all. So full credit to Sony for achieving this. The one weakness is the tendency to flare against the light, but it need not be a deal breaker, depending on the sort of image making you do.
