Definitely one of the top lens out there for portrait photography. Not too heavy but also not too light. I'd recommend this lens to anybody with a sony e mount for beginners and pros.

I wasn't sure about buying this lens at first but I am glad I ended up buying it. It's a great lens to use for portraits. The bokeh is nice and the pictures are very sharp

As a first time photographer this lens is very helpful and practical for portrait photography. Even though there are limitations with the size of the lens and the object tracking software connected with the hardware is never ideal this lens is a solid workhorse. My recommendation for anyone thinking about buying a new lens, especially a first time photographer I would highly recommend this lens as an ideal choice.

This lens produces amazing bokeh in your shots for portraits I have even used it for some specific landscape shots and absolutely love the photos that come from this lens

Great quality glass which make for a distortion free image.

As shape as the Zeiss lens but with 1/2 the price. Focus speed isn't bad, and pictures are very sharp, bokeh is very smooth. (I shoot with Sony A7R-ii.)

Before buying this lens I had been using the kit lens with my A6000. This lens allows me to shoot in lower light situations and has a high degree of sharpness

This lens is very sharp, I can't tell any difference between this one and the Zeiss Batis 85mm. Highly recommended if you do not want to pay $1000 more for the GM lens.

If you want to completely separate the background from your subject/model. I highly recommend this. Really sharp. Have to turn down the clarity sometimes on portraits.

Incredible sharpness, even at wide open aperture and resolves the 42MP sensor easily. One of the best, if not, THE best 85mm prime I’ve ever used.

This lens can compete w/ lens double its price. Can take grea portrait photo w/ nice bokeh. This lens was sold out everywhere at that time when I purchased it.

Most cost effective choice for a portrait lens out there for Sonys. The pics from this are very sharp, the focus very quick. It's a great buy!

Super light weight but is still plastic so be careful. Works and looks fantastic. Best lens Sony makes for the money. Highly recommend

The 85 mm medium telephoto lens lets me take portraits at a distance a little further from the subject than a standard 50mm lens would. The results are good and natural looking portraits. I need to mount the weighty DSLR camera with lens on a tripod stand which I do as often as I can when shooting. Sharp images. Colors are llmost 100% true. I don't do color corrections. But happy with the results : portraits, outdoor and indoor scenes, in all seasons.

This lens works great on my Sony a7II. It's a pretty good lens for portrait shooting beginners considering it's price.

The quality of this lense is amazing, the autofocus is not bad at all either, if you cant afford the G master, this is a great option
