This thing lasted about two months before the left half stopped working, Within six months it was dead. All this with light use in the home environment.

This shredder works well enough for the average home shredder. However, I am moving, so am cleaning out my old files. I have to shred for 5 minutes, then rest for 15 minutes to let it cool down. The basket doesn't hold all that much and I have to empty it frequently (like every 2 minutes). Also, the handle broke within a week. The peg snapped off. Yes, I am using it a lot, but the shredder is simply too heavy for the plastic pegs. Also, it MUST be oiled frequently so order the oil at the time of purchase. It does jam frequently, but that is probably due more to my clearing out 10 years of old records than the design of the machine. It does take a wad of papers, albeit a bit slower than one or two sheets, but that is to be expected.

Extremely cumbersome to empty the catch basket. I will return for a different model.

I have not used this product much over the last year and it just died. I would get another brand if I were you.

It was great, while it worked. Stopped working and making loud screeching noise and sparking after only 8 months.

Works great for our household shredding needs. a real workhorse and does not overheat like others I have had.

I haven't owned this shredder for long, but I just went through all my files and had a stack of papers to shred. It did a great job in very little time. The shredders I've owned in the past turn on and stay on even after all the paper has gone through. They have to be turned off. This one shuts off when the paper is completely shredded. To me that makes sense. The motor isn't constantly running while the shredder is on but not shredding paper. Less stress on the motor. I also put several credit-type cards through it, and they went through as easily as paper. I didn't experience this with any of my other shredders. So far, I'm very happy I bought this brand and model.

It's a god shredder to start off with. Sometimes though it's a hassle to empty it all out and the lid can get stuck sometimes which causes a mess. It's also lightweight but, too light. My niece brushed past it and it fell over and then we spent hours vacuuming it all up. On the other hand, I like how it has an off and on button so those little kids can't shred away your papers or their little fingers.

does everything it says. great for chopping up old credit or debit cards. no more cutting your fingers or worries of someone getting your acct. numbers out of the trash

I don't have a reason to shred a CD, but might destroy one anyway after seeing what this shredder did to a credit card! I don't push the limits on paper, but have no doubt that it will serve my home purposes with no troubles! If it lasts anywhere near as long as my last Fellowes shredder, I'll remain very happy with the purchase. My only complaint is not being able to find it in a store, and having to ship it.

I purchased this shredder to replace my older one that has now become defunct. I am so glad that I did. It's fast and effective!

This was the first shredder we purchased. At first, we thought it was very slow, but after we lubricated it when the basket was full, it began shredding very quickly and efficiently. Just be sure to lubricate it each time you empty the basket and it works great.

I bought this shredder to replace a 10-year old Fellowes shredder that finally broke. The Best Buy store where I shop did not have one in stock, so I was not sure how inconvenient it would be to have to remove the head to empty the bin. I bought it for its larger capacity bin, but it has proven to be a messy chore to empty it. Turned out to be twice as noisy as my previous shredder. Nonetheless, it appears to be a reasonably effective machine for the cost.

If you're in need of a shredder that can crosscut your papers in small pieces, handle multiple sheets at a time, with saftey features and reasonably priced this is it.

I bought the older version of this shredder, which is the same model, but 6 years older. It was out of the norm for me to spend $100 for a home office shredder, but it has been one of the best decisions I ever made. This shredder has shredded thousands and thousands of old bills, documents and junk mail, without fail. Looking to get another one within 2 weeks.

I have been quite happy with the performance of this product. In the weeks that I have owned it I have had no problems with it. The product has not jammed and has shredded with ease including cards and cds.

A good shredder and does a good job at it. I have 2 complaints about it... that first is that it can be quite loud and the 2nd is that its bulky/awkward and with no wheels on it doesnt make it easy to move from one part of my house to the other
