if you haven't played the original game in awhile, you'll be reintroduced to all your favorite and familiar characters. After playing the game all i can say is you have to play it to see all of the models and areas with the HD treatment...all looks amazing! This game however is a reimagined story and not quite told like the original.

Final Fantasy VII is my all time favorite game. I love the story. This version is quite different, than the original. The story is not 100% the same, they did change it. I would give this game less stars because its only half the game instead of the full game; but since it is my favorite and I love the characters I am giving it 5 stars.

Never played the original game since I couldn't get the original game and the lack of having a ps1. Or having the time to play the massive original game. Such a great game, good combat, and amazing graphics. High recommend for anyone that likes/loves Final Fantasy games!

Not sure where to begin, the combat is very fun, better than i expected wishing for the traditional turn based. The story and the way they bring Midgar to life is incredible, great amount of content! A Few of the story changes are kind of iffy but overall compared to other games being released today its a masterpiece!

Where do you even begin with the exercise of making something like this. As someone who played FF7 when it first came out this is pretty much a 35-40 hour package that expands upon the original 4 hours of FF7 in ways I didn't think I wanted but enjoyed so very much. It's not a 1:1 remake of the Midgar section but rather attempts to capture all the blanks your imagination filled in those 20 years ago. If you're looking for something to give you a giant nostalgia bomb it will fulfill that easily. Because it so effortlessly and amazingly fulfills our desire to revisit old experiences is why I think it gets permission to give us new ones. There are some plot additions that have left people polarized: some are tips of the hat because we already know what is going to happen, some puzzles to make us unsure we actually do. All in all this game stirred up crazy memories in me, very worth playing for veterans or new fans alike. It's not a flawless game (for instance, the side-quests are largely fluff), but the only thing I found truly regrettable is that we'll have to wait for the next installment.

FF7R is probably going to be the best game of 2020. It really brings you in to the story. As a fan of the original game, this remake made me feel like I was playing something familiar, but still brand new. I highly recommend this to everyone. Even if you never played the original, you will still love this game.

Final Fantasy VII Remake is a great game that brings back everything that made the original great, but with a great real-time battle system that is comfortable yet challenging. Its story, besides giving us good nostalgia by recreating the original story of the 1997 game, expands on much of what the PlayStation 1 game didn't tell or barely mentioned. Personally, I enjoyed the game a lot, although I won't deny that in the graphic section there are parts that can be criticized (brilliantly recreated characters but backgrounds with horrible textures) and that this is just the first of an indefinite amount of parts.

If you’re remake a classic gem of an rpg, this is the way to do it. Everything has been given a complete overhaul in the best way possible. Combat has been enhanced, deeper character growth and let’s not forget the amazing graphics. All of this make the Final Fantasy VII Remake shine and should not be missed.

I spent countless nights staying up way past my bedtime playing FF7 back in 1997-1998. The Remake has me doing the same. Fast-paced battles, gorgeous visuals, an amazing soundtrack. Easily a contender for Game of the Year. 40+ hours of gameplay, tons of side quests and a challenging New Game+ Hard difficulty.

You can tell it's a remake from the ground up. It's amazing how much detail was given and how good it looks. The gameplay was pretty good and despite adding more that feels like filler at times. I enjoyed it as a chance to see some characters fleshed out more. Can't wait for the upcoming parts!

I absolutely love the direction Square Enix took in this remake. I feel like they did a great job at making it a brand new experience with a story line that most of us know and love. Stunning graphics, challenging game play and a story line for the ages. Now if only we could get a Chrono Trigger remake...

For someone who played the original this is everything I wanted. For someone who is new to Final Fantasy you'll find a game that is quite unique. Fun mini games sprinkled through a cinematic rich storyline keep thing anything but repetitious. I was worried they'd ruin it. Very happy to say they have not.

If you played the original FF7 you have to get this game! and even if you didn't it you will still enjoy it! love the new battle system. As a big final fantasy fan i got to play the original game when i was a kid and after seeing Midgar with the new graphics in the Remake, a tear came out of my eye.

I greatly enjoyed my return to Midgar. It's a beautiful game with a lot of heart and really breathed new life into the characters and story. It's not perfect, many games aren't, but as long as you aren't looking for a 1:1 remake of the original game you'll probably enjoy Final Fantasy VII Remake

I am not over exagerating when I say this is the best game ever! I've been waiting yeeeeears for this game to release and when I found out it finally was, I was like a lil boy on Christmas Eve! I couldn't wait and now that I have it I've literally been playing it eeeeeveryday! I made sure to pre-order the Deluxe Edition and I can personally say that Enix did an amazing job making this game again. The graphics are beautiful and the feel of the game just makes is so nostalgic. If you're like myself and have played the original version for Playstayion then you know what I mean and how it feels to play this game after such a long time. All I know is that I dont want to beat it quickly because I know it's going to be hard to wait for the rest of the game to release too. But I know that time will come and when it does I will have to sadly return to realit... I definitely recommend this game to anyone who is into RPG style games and definitely to anyone who has played the original game and loved it as much as I do.

There is a ton of padding in this game. It takes place mostlyin the starting town and doesn't get much farther than that. Between the main story points you go and do various side quest and become a great mercenary. Side quests I'm used to but they make it sound like you may be there for a lot longer building up your fame. I feel like they really didn't have to add this much to make the game better and for various plot purposes this whole build your fame thing doesn't feel like it even matters. Still a great and solid game that looks fantastic. It just needs to lose a lot of fluff.

This is an excellent remake of the second best game in the franchise (sorry, I have a soft spot for FFVI). The world feels so much more alive, and new depth is added to each character. The gameplay is exceptional, with the combat being the best in the franchise.

The graphics are similar to Final Fantasy 15. The battle mechanics are similar to Kingdom Hearts 3 but better. This game is awesome, if you liked the original on PS1 you’ll love this remake. Unfortunately it’s not as long as the original but I guarantee you’ll enjoy it just as much or more.

This is the best looking game on the ps4 I have ever seen! The story is fantastic and the characters are lovable and memorable. I never played the original ff7 so I was excited to finally experience it and am not disappointed one bit! It’s completely worth buying and playing more than once.

This is definitely a full game and worth it's value as is ! But I just don't like the idea of waiting God knows how long to get the rest of it and if the quility will be the same content wise.. especially , if they are going with full price games for each part . I hope they follow a yearly concept with only 3 parts with at least 50 hours content for each part . Anyhow this is definitely a high quility action rpg if that's your thing you'll love!! This remake edition but if your more into the older version with side scrolling attacks or turn based i should say this may not be your cup of tea for Some of you old schoolers out there . Me personally, I love this and the old release also they both have a very enjoyable story and great gameplay mechanics if you don't enjoy this honestly your dead inside and are just a complainaholic and maybe should just look to do other things with your time perhaps. This is a 9.4 out of 10 from a 30 plus year gaming vet perspective. Enjoy!!
