I've never played Final Fantasy before this so a little bit of it went over my head as to how some of the characters are connected, but its got an extremely interesting story, smooth gameplay, and it provides a steady challenge so you have to get creative with how you play!

How do I put this it's a remake not a exact 1:1 but it's darn close. If FFXV had this combat style it would be up there. The Combat, Music, Voice acting, and overall pure fun. I love this game and recommend it to anyone who is a FF fan. Keep in mind I still have not completed the game.

The graphics, cinematic, character moments and epic story all shine here. It is 100% a full game experience packed full of really great character and story moments, side quests and mini-games. A breathtaking experience for long-time fans or even first-time players. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

Haven't finished the entire chapter, though this game is beautiful. Midgar has never looked so amazing. Although it this game is split up into chapters. This game is totally worth getting, brings back some good memories. While making new ones with brand new characters and missions.

I was skeptical about this game, after all the original is a masterpiece, after playing more than 20 hours i have to say it not only looks incredible, the gameplay is absolutely fantastic, character are well written and carry the story well. Definitely recommend the game.

Although the combat plays differently, it is definitely a game that you have to experience. If you were ever put off by graphics or turn based combat of the original FF7 but want to know the story, definitely pick this up. Combat feels fluent and story remains top notch.

Ff7 is one of those games that I’ve played since my childhood and I’m glad to see that SE didn’t disappoint with this jewel (we’ll see how the rest of the game turns out). it’s got everything you could want in a remake down to the last detail. Graphics: 9/10 (breathtaking at times, some of the new npc’s did got hit with the weird face bat pretty hard though) Sound: 10/10 All the old tunes you can remember from the original and then some! Everything sounds great from the gunshots to sword slashes and the English va’s. Controls: 8/9 there’s a lot going on here especially if you op to play the game in a more action rpg style (no slo-mo). I wish they’re were more command shortcuts for the party ai but ehhh not having it isn’t a deal breaker for me though. Overall I think SE has done a great things here its every bit of the nostalgia explosion as I wanted it to be. Which is best enjoyed if you played the original.

Played the original FF7 for the PS1 years ago and loved the game. This remake was the FF7 that I've wanted for this generation. Updated combat, great graphics, and brings back memories of the original. If your a fan of the original FF7 for PS1 you'll love this remake.

Absolutely an amazing game. If you were a hardcore fan of the original Final Fantasy 7 game, then you will love this as much, if not, more! Excellent remake and updated version of the old game we fell in love with. Great story and exciting fights! Definitely a must buy!

The graphics are great but it does feel more like this is what a CW version of FFVII would be cause theres a whole lot of nothing for the first 10+ hours, not that its necessarily bad, just when compared to the original it does all seem like a bunch of pointless filler.

As the game progresses so does your excitement and anticipation. If you were to ask me would I rather have a whole game remade in today’s graphics or the whole game made episodically and each episodes story made deeper I would prefer the latter. With the remake we actually get a 5x bigger game than the original with the larger examination into each episode. However some material may be less important to the story than others but still, we are getting more than if the game were just released completely without the deeper world building.

As a game labeled as a remake and over 23 years after the original, FINAL FANTASY VII REMAKE had a lot of expectations for how it would improve on a story and battle system that many people loved. In so many ways, they met the expectation and did the original proud. From recreations of iconic scenes or events from the original to full voice-acted cut scenes with seamless transitions to and from the over-world, the visuals of the environment capture how the original could only show in text or background pictures. With the action-based combat driving the traditional RPG system over it, battles now feel so much more energetic and still require a strategic mind to swiftly deal with. After completing the game, I am very confident that not only is the game an amazing improvement of the original (while still keeping it an individual game), it is also the start of a new chapter that I hope the next game will expand upon.

One of the best games of the year. Put in well over 100 hours for storyline and 100% completion. DLC was excellent. Highly recommend for OG FF7 and people just entering the series. Beautiful cinematically and gameplay.

The graphics are beautiful, characters are true to the original and a whole lot more fleshed out. Character interactions are also a lot more dynamic. Combat system is a little hard to get used to at first, but once you get the hang of it, is very satisfying and fluid.

I'll start by saying that this isn't a carbon copy of the original Final Fantasy 7, but I don't think many expected it to be. I've not finished the game yet, but am near the end with somewhere around 35 hours. I've tried completing all the side quests I can on a single playthrough, but I know there is more to do. And, yes, this is going to be a multi-part remake, but this doesn't feel like a simple cash-grab. The characters are expanded upon, Midgar had been greatly expanded upon, there are new characters, etc. So, I would say I am ok with this being split into multiple parts. The combat is an interesting and fun mixture of action combat and input commands. You use basic attacks to generate your ATB gauge, then spend said gauge to use magic and abilities via a command menu or shortcuts. I would highly recommend this game to anyone. Whether you're a newcomer or a veteran, there's something to like here.

Graphics are visually pleasing, the story is fantastic, and a great entry to the FF7 franchise. This FF7R does justice to the original game while being an entirely new game in itself. Great job to Square for developing this game. FF7 is a top 10 video game all time!

Easily the best decision I’ve made regarding video games. It’s an amazing game, very nostalgic for me as I played the original as a kid. The story is great, the graphics beautiful, gameplay is super fun. Overall amazing game and package! Had high replay value too!

Anyone who has played the original final fantasy 7 will be surprised on how much new content was added to the story. The gameplay is really fun and the music phenomenal. Sadly this part of the game only covers the midgar portion of the story. Great game overall.

Game is good, but was hoping for a bit more. It is a very easy and linear RPG, no grinding or real strategy necessary to beat the game

It brought me back to what I love about old ff7 such as good story, characters and great deep gameplay. Especially when you realize what's going on and it get towards the end. I don't normally do a second run in video games after I beat it but this one I will.
