Music awesome! Gameplay Awesome! Characters Awesome! I would recommend this to all my friends and family

I'm I diehard square enix fan and I have dabbled in the many games made by them such as Kingdom hearts and Final Fantasy. I played the original when I was younger and was very excited when a remake was announced and I am proud to say that if you are a newcomer Final Fantasy 7 was already a great introduction to the series and the remake makes that even better.

I've been waiting over 20 years for this game, and just hearing the score while watching the opening scene brought back so much emotion! The new battle system is not hard to adjust to, and the cut scenes are so cinematic that you feel as though you're watching a live film. I got the deluxe version which includes a nifty book, a soundtrack and a few extra summon materia orbs... trust me, if you liked the original, you can't go wrong with this game!

Great retelling of story with enchanced graphics. Expanded storyline is pretty good. Combat system takes little while to get used to but its not bad. Major complaint is game very linear but was to be expected as original was up to that point in story as well.

The original FF7 was not only my favorite game of all time but the main rpg that got me into the genre, outside of Chrono Cross and Super Mario RPG. I've purchased it on every platform available and regularly play through it on Vita or now Switch every year. Despite a short length for a full size RPG what you get in this package is a beautiful retelling of a story, great characters and enough changes to make it interesting enough to play through.

There is a free demo on the PS4 to try this out. This game is gonna be a multiparty story so when you finish this game which will take around 30-50 hours to finish so you will have to wait for the next game and after that to complete the story. Also if you picked this up and are a veteran of the old games take everything you know out the window the combat and story is different from what was released in 1997 but its a good change and refreshing.

I’ve always been a big fan of FF7 since back in the day. I HAD to purchase the remake. I was gonna preorder on Amazon but they said my order would be delayed so I switched to trusty Best Buy. I’ll probably be preordering all my future titles from them. The game itself changes the story and elongates it but I liked the depth of the characters and getting to know their personalities better (even though Barrett’s hotheadedness was overkill.

This is by far one of the best remakes I have ever played. The things they added and tweaked in this game really gave the world of Midgar more life than in the original. I was nervous when it came to the new action based battle system but it was pretty easy to get used to fairly quickly. If you liked the original Final Fantasy 7 or even if you're new to it, I highly recommend giving this game a chance.

Nostalgia is a powerful thing. This game now looks how the original did in my head. The game is great and all the new stuff is fantastic as well. If you haven't played the original, play this anyways and then ask a friend who has to fill in the gaps. Still a bummer it's not the full remake, only part one of who knows how many, but it's well worth it!

This game is GREAT! Although, I give a slight nod to the original and the story telling there (this isn’t a comparison review, so that doesn’t matter). The story took a great approach to the classic and revealed sides of the story we were not privy too - they didn’t go wrong with expanding on certain parts of the story. I absolutely recommend this game (just be aware this is the first installment of, what sounds to be like, many to come).

FF7R is an excellent remake that does the original game justice while still feeling fresh. While initially bummed that the combat was not turn based, I quickly got over it. The new combat system is actually very good. The only thing I can fault this game on is that it tends to drag on in a few spots and that messes with the pacing a little. That being said it’s still an excellent game and one of the best that’s come out in a while.

Amazing game! I’m on my third play through, loving it. The graphics are to die for, the controls are so smooth it’s ridiculous. The service was amazing! By some miracle, I actually managed to purchase a copy a few days prior to release and I’m so surprised at how quick and efficient they were. Especially considering NYC was practically locked down. It arrived that same day early morning! Highly recommend (you won’t be disappointed)

Not at all like the original, some dumb timeline Stuff is mixing up the story. Game looks great and has a awesome soundtrack! But the overall game is very subpar for what I was expecting.

Like any other fan, I've been waiting for this for a long time. I was a little irritated that they were going to make a full $60 game out of just the Midgar section, but they make it work here. Side characters got so much more build, and i cared about them way more than I did in the original. Of course there are things that aren't perfect by no means, but overall I was very happy with the game, and cannot wait for the next part.

This is one of the few games I had to platinum. The battle mechanics are superb. It does have a learning curve, so don’t expect to walk into it and be a master! The story gets a little over the top at times, but seeing these characters brought to life with modern tech is something you shouldn’t pass up! Regardless of if you have played the original or not, this is an incredible start to what will be an epic work of art.

As a huge fan of the original, I can easily say that this game does an incredible job as a remake. It is faithful to the original and adds fun and fresh new content. This is clearly part 1 of what should easily be a trilogy of games, if not more. So keep that in mind. It is not a remake of the entire original. However, it has approximately 30-40 hours worth of content. Overall, easily one of the best games of this year so far.

So happy to capture my younger years in a modern way. Gorgeous graphics and great story thus far.

This game is incredible. The graphics are so realistic and it brings the best video game in the world to a whole new level. I can’t get enough of this game and the level of depth that it brings. I am so excited to see how much further it goes into Cloud’s psyche and hard times that have made him who he is. It is also so humorous and I find myself cracking up at Wedge or the infamous Wall Market. Buy this game now!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Square Enix so far has knocked it out of the park with this one. Only downside is that the game is only the first part of the overall FFVII story, but I can look past that when considering how much more in depth the story is. Combat mechanics are an excellent blend of real-time action and the ability to slow down reaction times. Graphics engine is second to none. Highly recommend this if you are a fan of the original FFVII.
