I hadn't played the original, but this game was really fun! After talking to people who had played both, it does have a lot of familiar things from the original, but with a fresh gameplay style. The action RPG format brings a new feel, and the game features a "Classic" mode for people who want to play it in a more similar form to the original by just focusing on the skill selections.

I held my breath with this release. Putting new paint on an old (read: awesome) house is one thing, but adding new rooms to be explored changes the nostalgia. Not so in this case. They're done an excellent job to maintain the original story line and play to my inner teenager while giving me the opportunity to explore and truly re-enjoy what I loved so much about FF7. The rest is up to you.

I loved the graphics and the story is amazing! I loved everything about this game.

This game is an absolute treasure, reviving all the elements beloved of the game and fleshing out so much more and creating a incredible story that allows for the world to flourish and grow like it never has before! I have barely stopped playing it and won't any time soon. This is a tribute to all fans of the JRPG and Final Fantasy family and a nice return to form for the series in general

Had a really good time playing through FF7 Remake. Love the story and battle system. I played through on normal mode, and I don't really have an itch to play through a second time or use ch select on hard for trophy.

I've been waiting for this game to release for like 7 years and it was worth the wait. Fan of the original or new to Final Fantasy in general, any fan of the action RPG genre is going to love this. Extremely detailed. It is episodic, so this is only part one. However, it's still a full game in itself and after finishing, you'll be glad it's episodic. Definitely looking forward to part 2.

I purchase the Final Fantasy VII Remake after due to my fondness of the original game that was released over 20 years ago. They did an excellent job of using today's technology to update a classic. I will admit, there were some major changes. However, I did not expect them to simply keep the game in the same format with enhanced visuals, as people play games much differently today.

I had reservations about this since it was just part 1 of Final Fantasy VII but just finishing it I would say that’s up there with remakes like Resident Evil 2. The characters are more fleshed out and the combat is excellent. It is linear but it doesn’t hurt the game as much as I thought it would. If you are still on the fence, I can tell you that FF7 remake does not disappoint.

Yea this is part one of an episodic series of Final Fantasy VIO but it is well worth it. This game only covers the Midgard section but wow did they expand on it big time and added lots of new content and storytelling in a way that makes it all worth while. I haven’t beaten it yet but it averages for most people to complete the game in 40+ hours which is plenty of content for me.

I have been waiting for this game to come out forever! Met my expectations!

Honestly, this is a great remake. There are some odd things here and there, but the story telling is top notch and gives you more insight into the main and side characters. Lots more detail this time around, looks great. I found it to be amazing that they were able to render the levels with modern technology and have it look like I remeber from the game in 1997. Pretty great.

Like most individuals who bought this game, I had a bit of nostalgia and a bit of a "Squee!" moment when I heard this game announced with the characters are fully fleshed out, the game play has been updated to reflect the current video game market, and I get to see my bad a** SOLDIER in action. My only gripes are due to a couple things about the game though, namely: 1. Audio cuts off every time I get an achievement (Not sure if it's just limited to PS4 or if PS4 Pro suffers from the same thing) 2. The story is stretched so much that the first 8 chapters of the REMAKE (~15 hrs of game play) is equivalent to the first hour of the Original. Aside from those, the game's great! I'm liking that I can see a new side to each of the smaller characters

A must have game. Great for beginners and for hardcore fans of the original
