Square knocked this one out of the park, every bit of Midgar and Cloud's escapades within it are much more fleshed out, and the combat is challenging and interesting. I have no bad things to say about this, it lives up to every expectation I had for it.

One of the most prominent games in history remade as a modern game that fleshes out the original story's Midgar. Definitely one of the best games I have ever played in my entire life. Can't wait to see what is in store for us in the future installments!

Great graphics and love the 8 characters. Disappointed that it wasn’t the original rog gameplay that I grew up playing on ps1.

If you can remember 23 years ago when this game came out then you are as fortunate as I am. This game, although not fully finished, is truly a work of art. So glad this game has resurfaced after such a long slumber and can’t wait to see the end product.

I never played Final fantasy vii till now and I absolutely love it. Everyone around me was so hyped on this game & now I know why. The graphics are amazing & the controls handle nicely. This game is definitely all its hyped up to be and more. Pick it up

This game has easily my new favorite combat system of any Final Fantasy game. No spoilers, but the story changes a few things up from the original that isn't making the FFVII purists too happy, but I have no issue with the direction they are taking it.

I will admit that I have never played the original, but even without playing that first I believe this game is absolutely amazing. The story and the characters are so intoxicating it was all I could think about, and I can't wait to see what comes next!

Amazing, absolutely amazing. I was completely absorbed in it from start to finish. If I had to nitpick I would say there's a bit of filler in places where you could have cut down on and it would be fine, not bad enough to lose a 5 star rating though.

Great game and an awesome trip down memory lane! This game will keep my busy for a while and I love the improvements on the graphics. My only complaint is that my package arrived with no Pre-Order DLC. I had this reserved since OCTOBER 2019 and was looking forward to it. Very disappointing but hopefully Best Buy will fix that issue.

I actually like this remake and the direction they are deciding to go with it. I've played the original so many times that I don't mind the developers looking into make changes and expansions to the world.

Disregard the review about waiting due to download. Downloading more data of the game happens with almost every great title on the PS4 before playing so I don’t know why it seems like it came out of left field. That said, the game lives up to the hype for me. I love everything about it. I would also like to thank the local Best Buy for the smoothest possible transaction of curbside pickup. Very fast and efficient, thanks guys!

I’m a huge fan of the Final Fantasy series and I’ve been waiting a long time for this remake. It’s way better than I could have imagined and—just like always—- Best Buy made sure I had my pre order on release day in my mail box!!!! So happy!!

As someone who never played the original, but whose friends always talked about it, and who saw Advent Children and played Cloud in Smash, I loved every bit of this game. It’s gorgeous and fulfilling and I can’t wait until the next entry.

As a fan of the original FFVII, I had high expectations. This title is different, but not necessarily in a bad way compared to the original. I believe that it would have been far better to call this a re-invisioning, rather than a remake.

I never played the original Final Fantasy VII so everything was fresh for me. The characters are interesting and the combat system is awesome. The only thing I didn't like about it was how much filler there was but most of it is optional.

I played the original Final Fantasy 7 since its release in 1997. I finished it all the way through multiple times, even getting it 100% complete. I am really enjoying the remake, even planning to reach 100% completion with this remake.

As a fan of the original and it being my favorite game of all time, I had high hopes for the remake! Let me tell you, it does not disappoint! They managed to keep all of the old nostalgia but, also made it new as well, great job Square!

This game is unreal. If you enjoyed the original you will just be blown away by this game. It is literally like playing a movie. This game really brings you into the world, into the story, and the characters to life like never before.

fun and engaging. Very different feel from the original while still holding true to the intent. Not finished and I have over 20 hrs in the game already. It may only be the beginning, but its worth it and I hope they continue with this
