Breathtaking, an masterpiece in it's own right. Creative new battle system or stand alone old school style. A complete re-imagining of the original. No library should be without it.

I bias as this is my favorite game of all time, period. I think they did it justice. Absolutely beautiful. Only wish I could play it all the way to the end. I'll just have to wait.

just beat it i cant wait for part 2 know mixed reviews out there cause its a remake and not a remaster it also lets you keep playing afterwards all in all would recommend it to anyone

Great graphics and mechanics make this a must for ff fans. PSA this is not the complete remake this is just a chapter of the whole game but it's still a big game clocking in at 40hrs+

Love the steelbook and the game. The soundtrack oozes nostalgia and also modernizes it. The game is wonderful too. Not a big fan of the ending of it but hoping it could turn out well.

How can any game live up to the hype of the original FFVII? I'm not sure if you can. And I'm not saying the Remake didn't. I'm only a few hours into the game and I'm loving it so far.

I’ve beaten the original an insane amount of times, the gameplay is different but it works for this game! Don’t hesitate to buy if you’ve played the original and want to get this one.

This game is one of the best remakes out there. The graphics are gorgeous, the characters are interesting, and the story telling is engaging. Totally recommend this game to rpg fans.

Never played the original, and was turned off to it because the graphics haven’t aged well. But the remake is awesome and a great way to experience a gaming classic. I’m glad I did.

Awesome chilhood nostalgia upgraded to HD, the original ps1 version came out when I was around 12 ! Sucks they square has it divided into multiple parts at least 2-3 years apart...

I for one have loved this game. Its a fresh take on one of the greatest RPGs of all time with more to come. The deluxe edition provides a few extra benifits and gorgeous packaging.

This is just the first part of the series but I loved it from the first minute to the last, one of the best games I’ve ever played! (I’m also a huge FF fan tho so I’m a bit biased)

Love the game. it looks great and is a blast. I would recommend it to any fans of the series or rpgs in general. Just don't expect the original ff7 experience because this isn't it.

This game does so many things right! It makes every character and moment even more memorable than the original game did. I cant wait to beat it so I can start it all over again!!!

I can’t even remember how many hours I spent on the original especially since I played again and again on different consoles. This version is so awesome. Can’t wait for more.

This is one of thee greatest games to have in your collection or ever made if you like the original Final Fantasy VII most definitely buy the updated version it’s 23 years overdue

I'm a huge FF fan, and really enjoyed this remake. I was surprised at how much more I liked some of the characters vs back when I played the original, so that was a big plus for me. Definitely has some moments that drag a bit, and changes some things that might make fans of the original upset. I didn't have high expectations at first but now I'm looking forward to the next part!

It's a very fun retelling of a classic game. The combat system has been redone and is more fun than ever. Just be sure you know this game ends when Cloud and the gang leave midgar

There's no denying that FF7R is beautiful... sometimes. The music, sound design, and art direction are top notch; it's the execution of that art direction that suffers. Cut scenes are beautifully rendered and the main cast gets a lot of care. However, muddy, low-resolution backgrounds can be jarringly bad, and the lip syncing for NPCs in the game is hilariously distracting. The battle system attempts to combine action and turn-based elements, but mostly feels clunky and unsatisfying. However, the real disappointment is in the story; it ends up introducing nonsensical elements (the whispers) and botching the pacing of the story (whether you are concerned about the original plot or a fresh take on that plot). In another attempt to combine the idea of a faithful remake and a re-imagining, the game ends up failing to achieve either of those goals.
