I was skeptical at first, but I was completely hooked near the end. The story doesn’t really grab you until the later chapters. It moved a little too slowly. I know that Square-Enix will just try to get as much as they can out of this. I give it a 7.5 out of 10.

Between the art book, steel book and packaging, I believe any fan of the original will be able to appreciate this deluxe edition. The game itself was a fun way to relieve those old memories of my first play through. Can’t wait for the next installment.

I'm a die hard FF7 fan. Still have my 1997 copy that I received for my birthday in 1998. I can't say too much without giving away story details, so I'll just say it's great. I like where they went with this and am both excited and anxious for the next part!

The product arrived the day it said it would. And because it was a video game and the pre order codes had to be sent I figured it would take all day. It actually showed up in my email before the game arrived, which doesn’t happen often with other companies.

I know there’s a lot of people on both sides of the fence but I just cannot love this game like I want to. There’s a ton of fan service but a lot of tediousness in this game. This is only the Midgar section of the original and they have stretched that out from about 4 hours of gameplay to close to 30 hours with the remake. Looks great. Combat is hack n slash Kingdom Hearts style fighting but whatever....you might love it.

You will not regret buying the remake of this classic game! Also, the Deluxe edition had so many goodies, the steel case was the highlight for me though. Also, the normal paper cover of the game is reversible, which is so cool! Great game, great purchase!

What more can I say? One of the best remakes I have every played. I played the original several times, and was genuinely worried about this remake. Square Enix really proved themselves this time for me. I cannot wait for the sequel episodes!

Waited over 5 years over this game, was a little disappointed that it will come in multiple installments but great remake nonetheless. Looking forward to see all the additional content included and the deluxe version is great for collectors and huge fans!

Final Fantsy VII Remake is an amazing return to form for the Final Fantasy franchise. The characters are greatly represented and characterization is handled well. Combat is great although fighting flying enemies with melee attacks can be unsatisfying.

Game has a few wonky moments and some of the voice acting is... not great, but overall worth a play of you're a fan of the original or want to check out what it's about! Less than pumped it'll be like 2026 when they wrap it up though

The original was one of the best games of all time. This should be right up there too once all the other parts are added later.

Just Brings back memories from 97 and to see how they develop the remake to add more depth into the storylines of each character and the fact that it’s not the whole game but still intrigued to play it out until the next part aka disc two is released.

Being a fan for over 20 years and holding this story as well as the characters close to my heart, anyone will appreciate what has been done to this classic to make it updated and fresh with content and extra character in depth story. Well worth the !

I jumped on this after I had missed the preorders and I thought maybe it was a new batch produced, that way I would miss the flaws others have complained about. Sadly that isn't the case. For the price, what you're getting is amazing! Artbook, steelbook, sound CD. And they all look gorgeous at first glance. But the artbook corners are a little frayed, the steelbook isn't in pristine condition, and this is straight out of the box! It's a good item for any collector, but I expected a bit more care

My review may be biased, as I am a huge Final Fantasy 7, fan, but this game is truly a masterpiece. It is not better than the original, which I didn't expect, but far exceeded my expectations, which were high, already. Would highly recommend!

Game play is real time vs the old turn based but it’s interesting and add some more skill to playing. The updated story line is nice so far. Graphics are great. Overall good job on a remake game that is still one of my favorites after 20 years.

The game play was fun and it looked amazing. My only issue with it is it no longer felt like the same game I loved so much.

Enjoyed every minute of it. As a fan of the original, I think they put much time and effort to flesh out each character and the scenarios. Very faithful but also introduces new elements. Feels like playing FF13 story pacing with FF15 battles.

This game is by far one of the best RPG’s I’ve played in a very long time. Square did a fantastic job with the animations, play style and overall mechanics. Feels oddly familiar yet refreshingly new. Can’t wait to get back on and play again.
