Well it has arrived, and I never thought I would see the day. Part 1 of my most sought after remake. I’m satisfied with the results, as the change in the battle system is surprisingly fluid and I don’t find myself missing the complete turn-based system as I thought that I might. I’m also enjoying the added details to the story, and the fleshed our characterization, especially for Cloud. Bravo! I only hope that Part II won’t take too long to arrive.

Anyone who played the original must play this iteration of Final Fantasy VII! There is so much different from the original and I'm not talking about gameplay alone. The story has also changed and it seems like they are making it completely different from the original. Gameplay wise, this game is much more fast-paced and more action-RPG like. I beat this game twice the first week it came out, it was just that amazing.

This game right here is everything I expected and more. I have always been a Final Fantasy fan, and I really loved the old turn based combat. When I heard this wasn’t going to be turned based, I was on the fence, but I am sure glad I bought it! Such a beautiful game on so many levels. I cannot wait for the next installment! I’m ~40 hours in and I’m not done with it yet, but I like to power level and complete everything as well.

Final Fantasy 7 is one of my favorite games, and I've been waiting years for this remake. It expands the original story and adds a lot of great content and character development. I recommend it for both fans and those new to the title. I really enjoyed seeing Midgar in a new way, and the graphics are excellent. Though I'll always love the original and recommend everyone play that as well, this is a very well done update.

I will be honest, this game does have some issues, like the sidequests feeling like padding and the minigames not being very fun. Despite those gripes, I can't deny how much I enjoyed playing this game. The visuals (minus some textures), the performances, the music, the story, the characters, the gameplay overall... it's fantastic. I can't wait for the next part... hopefully it won't be as long as the wait for this game.

I haven’t finished it yet, but this remake is fantastic. A couple of minor downsides are the extra filler side quests and maybe the combat being maybe too fast to really take it all in. Other than that, this is a must have for old and new fans of final fantasy 7. The graphics are simply amazingly, regardless of what the next gen consoles look like. If you are reading this, just buy it already.

As a fan of the Final Fantasy, as well as Kingdom Hearts, this game receives my stamp of approval. The game itself is amazing to look at, and the combat just makes everything better. They really took one of my favorite games on the PS1, and brought this game to life in a nicer rendition. To all fans, it is a good buy. Steal book case is a nice touch, and nothing else is need except a great controller!

The graphics and story to this game are on point. To bad its not a complete game though.

The game takes a departure from the original, so it's not a true 1:1 remake, but it is still amazing! They make enough changes and stick enough to the original that it still feels like FF7. This is only the first of an unknown number of installments and is essentially just Disc 1 from the original as it ends once you get out of Midgar. If you speed run it, you can be done in ~35-40hrs, but I liked taking my time and looking at all the detail and beauty that they put into the environments. With some grinding to level up my characters and Materia, it took me ~65hrs to complete it. Once you've beaten the game, you can replay it in a New Game+ mode that lets you keep your levels/items and select individual chapters or run through the game again on Hard. I've clocked over 100hrs, re-playing on Hard and unlocking everything that I can in hopes that it'll transfer over to the next installment when that drops. The combat system is drastically different, but it is still a lot of fun to play and keeps the combat moving constantly when in the original you could sit there for a bit waiting for a gauge to fill allowing you to act. The Materia system is largely the same, with some slight tweaks, new names, and even new Materia to give you a lot of options for combos. There are weapon skills you can learn and use anytime once you've mastered them, which only takes a few battles. If you're not expecting a 100%, scene-for-scene, recreation you should enjoy the remake and I can't recommend it enough.

The remake is awesome! It was incredible replaying through the first part of the original game all done in a modern play style and graphics. Sadly that's the bad part as well is that it's only the beginning of FF7. Of course it was known that it was only going to be the beginning of the original I still wish the next one wasn't too far off. All in all the game was fun and I have nothing bad to say about it.

Final Fantasy 7 was great on the original PlayStation. FF7 Remake is even better. It follows the original story but with more details, side quests and much better graphics. This game is episodic which means it’s divided into chapters. The game doesn’t end where the original FF7 ends so there will be 1-2 sequels under the remake format to compete the FF7 story. If you have a PS4 then this is a must have game!

If you ever played Final Fantasy 7 growing up, the Remake sticks with the story and progression well enough to take you down memory lane. However, there are a number of new elements added and some new twists that make this enough of a new experience for those same people. Even if you never have touched a Final Fantasy game or an RPG before, this is still an amazing adventure and looks absolutely fantastic.

This game is definitely one of the best i have played in awhile! It has beautiful graphics and a great story line. This is part 1 of 3 that should eventually come out. I definitely recommend it to anyone that is a final fantasy fan. I also recommend it to anyone that loves rpgs and action rpgs and anyone that wants to try FF7 and didnt try the original. Currently trying to get all of the achievements!!

I’ve waited so many years for this games to be remade and it’s finally here. The graphics are top notch, the story is great with a few additions to it, and the gameplay is amazing. Sure it’s no longer turn based like the original, but it’s still fun none the less and still very much strategic. You ca lot go in playing this game thinking it’s just a simple hack and slash because it’s far from that.

This game is for everyone, old fans and new. I was skeptical about being episodic but the developer did such an amazing with the way it look and telling of the story. Combat is very good although for some reason the lock on seems to choose far away enemies rather that close by and sometimes the camera angles can get funny at times but those are just minor things. I can’t wait for the next part!!!!

As a MASSIVE Final Fantasy fan, with the original Final Fantasy 7 being my first FF game I played through. This hits me right in the nostalgia bone for me. The visuals are breathtaking! The gameplay is exactly what I wanted fixed from the original. Also, this game isn’t the same story rehashed. There is a lot of added content that fills in the gaps from the original. 10/10 Highly recommend

Getting the negative out of the way first. The camera for much of this game is very very close even on the furthest setting. This triggered my motion sickness a bit often. Other than that it's been a nice stroll down memory lane. The combat system is fair and as complicated as you want to make it. The difficulty levels offer a wide range of challenge. I wish it was longer but oh well.
