I never finished this game when it was originally released for the Playstation 2, but now that it is on the Switch I have sunk nearly 60 hours into this game. The improved combat system is great, and the ability to take this type of game on the go really helps. Definitely a must have for any Switch collector.

Final Fantasy XII is one of my favorite role-playing games, and when I heard its remake released a couple of years ago, I managed (with difficulty) to resist purchasing it, in the hopes that a Switch version would eventually be released. My wish came true, and I'm glad to have waited; FFXII is an excellent game on any platform, but being able to pick it up on the go for quick play sessions is a joy. It is quite different in gameplay to other RPGs, so I'd recommend reading a detailed review elsewhere if you're interested in what it's all about. But the crux of it is that FFXII is a game that lends itself well to sprints or marathons, and I like to have the option for both. The performance in handheld mode is nearly perfect; the image is lower resolution than in TV mode and as such, character models and the environment look a bit blurry (the user interface is always crisp and legible, however), but it's nothing that takes me out of the experience. Overall, I'm incredibly pleased to have one of my favorite games available in easy reach at any time, even when I'm away from home.

Great game when it originally came out and the remasters a little better. Definitely worth buying on cartridge to save memory card space on your Switch. I paid $35 on sale which I think is a little steep. $20 or less is a better price point. But, to have it portable it’s worth a little extra.

To play these more advanced Final Fantasy titles on the go is quite the experience. Especially, since it hasn't been an option before. Since the quality of the game isn't compromised too much since it's a older title. It is worth checking out and playing at any given time anywhere.

Ffxii portable is really the reason I bought this game for the switch. However they continued to fine tune other little extras that make this the definitive edition. The steam version may be the best one visually. This one is best for its portability and its definitive little extras.

A worth while game play to the likes of final fantasy line. But this is even better for Switch as you can play on the go. The quest are fun but also hard if you don't watch your health as you battle to level up your character. Grinding is the best way to level-up.

It is very good game. I own this game on PS2, PS3, PS4 and now the switch. It's a classic that you can play whole day. The music is some of the best in all of Final Fantasy, and features leitmotifs for specific characters, groups of people, and dastardly forces.

This is probably the 4th time I’ve bought this game so that should tell you how I feel about this game. Really strong story, tons of customization, this version has bunch of new bells and whistles and it looks great to boot. Balthier is there, he’s cool.

This game brings Square back to creating an epic story and fantastic gameplay. The story is great, the map designs are pretty, the fights are epic, the new options of being able to switch jobs, and the gambit system make a game I could hardly put down.

This game add several improvements to really make it a fun game. If you've played the PS2 version this feels like a definitive remaster. With the added improvements and solid original game this is a must play. Plus on Switch it is portable!

Im very glad I picked this game up, it has an amazing story with interesting war politics and memorable characters and a deep customization system for character’s abilities, the combat system is also very nice and different to other final fantasy games. The porting on switch is also very nicely done, and I experienced no framerate issues.

Never played the original. So I was curious to try it out on the switch. I am a Final Fantasy fan this was a little different then other FF games. It had a good story and fun battle system. The voices sounded a little outdated but the soundtrack was remastered. Also not as long as other FF games took me a little over 40 hours to complete. It’s worth playing.

Playing this on the Switch was great. I never beat it during the first release (lost interest after a while) but being able to play a game wherever on the Switch really made this more approachable.

I played the original many years ago and didn't quite finish it on PS2. I didn't remember the story at all so it's like playing a new game for me. I like how this updated version plays and the ability to chose which class you want each character to be. It plays pretty well on Switch.

One of the best RPG's from the PS2 now it's portable and the graphics are even crisper while on the go. How can you go wrong? I wish all the FF titles would release on switch.

This is by far hands down the best final fantasy. It's more "new" compared to the some of the older titles and doesnt feel so dated. Great graphics, great mechanics and great story. A must buy!

This is a highly underrated RPG. Originally released for the PS2, this updated version is a tad bit harder than the PS2 version, but the portability of the Switch makes it a must have.

This game has Japanese & English voice/text support & text for other supported ones. The visuals in the game REALLY look awesome. There is a double sided cover art which has a nice detail to the art. Also the this version adds new job systems, music, & a trial option that can earn you early items that can help you in story mode or in the trials itself. So if you are one that gets stuck in story mode & need better gear then head into trial mode & steal some powerful gear. Over all this is a must own FF game with beautiful art style & also if you are a fan of Vagrant Story on the PS1 then you will fall in love with this game.

I love this game and the zodiac job system. the game story is good for a mature audience. graphics and sound and really good, better than I remembered.

Who doesn't like it? If you don't, that's fine because I do. FFXII brings back memories that I enjoy reliving. The gameplay, the music, the plot! I love it.
