Never got to try it. Exchanged it three times, couldn't get it to load. All my other games work fine, even reinitialized my system to try and get it working. No luck, so I'm not sure if it's a good game or not.

So I would like to say this, this game was good to start but the rest of the game is very hollowed out, I mean the whole game feels rushed and very not like final fantasy. Huge disappointment

square enix has found a way to monetize a game between an anime, a movie, a half finished game. 8 parts of dlc, 3 of which are canceled and never to be released.

I've had a love/hate relationship when it came to final fantasy. I loved the stories and graphics, but I hated the battle systems typically. I like intuitive controls and easy access menus when it comes to battling. Not to say there isn't room for improvement, but this is a solid move forward for me. Pros: Open World For me this game is a mash up of Final Fantasy, Kingdom Heart s and Dragon Age Inquisition. It has the look, story and character design of typical Square Enix games, but his has the Kingdom Hearts battle system. What this means? Instead of wandering a blank landscape and then getting the kaleidoscope screen of a misc. battle you wander real life countryside and you see your enemies ahead of time. You can choose to engage or run around the battle. Also for MMO players who enjoy farming for items in order to build new items there is plenty of that to do in the game. Battle system FF tends to have pretty standard battle system of turn based actions, but time doesn't freeze per se when you are choosing what actions your characters were taking. In FFXV, it's live action play and you can have up to 4 spells or weapons in your d-pad menu for quick changing. Example: many monsters have elemental weaknesses, instead of having an ice javelin and hoping that the monsters will all have that weakness you can have a weapon of each category with a different element attached. This way if you are in battle against something that doesn't like fire you can switch weapons just by touching the d pad. I also like that instead of being dependent on ethers you can warp to a location that instantly refills your MP bar. Salvation: Instead of an instant death you get a danger meter in which you can save yourself and your other characters prior to dying. Anyone who's faced Sephiroth in Kingdom Hearts in the ice caverns knows what I mean. The instant death move is a real pain. Character dynamics This is where it is like Dragon Age. While you are roaming the universe your companions banter with each other and establish the long known relationship. It makes wondering the universe more entertaining and it brings you closer to the characters. Time value of money If you only do the story line this would probably be a very short game, but I've logged 40 hours and I'm only in chapter 4 because I'm taking the time to do the side quests and hunts. I hate paying 60 for a game then it's over in a couple of hours. Cons I wish I could equip my characters with potions. (If there is a way please tell me) Sometimes I busy hacking, slashing and saving my own butt to have to heal camera boy all the time. I love the characters and eventually I'll get them the first aid technique in the tree, but in the beginning that one guy dies a lot. Ascension This is a small thing. So instead of having individual trees for each character they divided the trees by activity type and you pay attention to the highlighted name to know who it goes with. Honestly I would have preferred the trees by character. It's still fine if there is only one bucket of points but a simplification of the ascension menu would be worth while for me. Menu sorting: So if you press right or left on the d pad the menu items will sort, however the logic of the sorting doesn't quite compute. For instance let's say I want to review which side quests in rescues I've completed, I would like to go to completed side quest/rescues and have it filtered to only what I want to see. Again this is a technical thing. Cooking: I like the cooking, by con is the fact that we can only cook at camp. However, why can't Ignis cook in the trailer rentals or why can't the 300gil a night room come with a meal. On top of this I think the meal prices in the game are a little ridiculous. Bypass on certain cut scenes I wish I could skip the whole gas fill up cut scenes. You only need to see it once. Length of day I would slow down the clock on the days. I know you can roam at night but I would just like the daylight hours to last a little longer. Overall, despite the cons I'm thoroughly enjoying the game and I look forward to moving forward.

This game is really bad, don't spend more then $15 with GCU on it. This should have been Versus 13 and not this abomination of a game, ever so disjointed !

I have spent over 100 hours on this game, and I'm not even finished yet. The storyline is great, and the interactions among characters are lively. There are many side quests besides the main storyline. The battle system and gameplay are quite smooth as well. During my gameplay, I experienced a few bugs, and I was forced to reload the game a couple times. Since the overall gaming experience was great, these unexpected flaws were bearable.

I originally thought the cast of the game looked odd and originally cancelled my pre-order. But when I repurchased later on, it's really enjoyable. The cast is sincere and a great bunch to travel around with. In additon the combat is enjoyable and there's lots of quests/dlc to keep you busy after you've beaten the original game

All in all, Final Fantasy XV is most certainly one of the most enjoyable games that I have played in awhile. The graphics are outstanding, it has some very fun game play, and the story does a good job at drawing in the player. There are some points and aspects of the game that I will admit are less than desirable like the fishing mechanic and some of the traveling taking up a greater part of the game time as well as the occasional glitch here or there, but that can be fixed with updates. Final Fantasy XV combines the game play elements of Final Fantasy's story, Kingdom Hearts combat, and Monster Hunter's ever infinite amount of side quests and hunts. I feel that this is a great game and gift idea for any fan of the series or new comer that has played either Kingdom Hearts or Monster Hunter and highly recommend it!

This is probably my favorite RPG this year. Bonding with the characters over the course of a long car ride kept me emotionally invested and when I finally finished the game I felt like all that bonding paid off. The gameplay is quite simple but thanks to the Ascension grid the system can get a little complex. The music is wonderful and very nostalgic thanks to the inclusion of songs from older games. The story did have plot holes but the developers are going to include DLCs to cover that. I highly recommend this to anyone looking for a great RPG

Still great, the story however is lacking and is supposed to be patched in later through 2017, how ever the game open world and combat style is plentiful for me to get my moneys worth. My advice is Redbox(Yes, they have it) it to try it out for a day or so. I have over 100+Hours of gameplay that I did not feel bored of. If I have to say what this is similar too, it would be Dragon Age Inquisition(Open World/Side quest) and Dragon Dogma(Open world/Combat) had baby.

As a long time fan of the final fantasy franchise, I have to say that I was a little disappointed with this game. One of the reasons that I love the final fantasy franchise so much is the story and plot of the game. Don't get me wrong Final Fantasy Xv's plot wasn't bad but it just didn't meet my expectations as a Final Fantasy game. With that being said, one the games saving grace is it's soundtrack. Another thing that the Final Fantasy Franchise is known for is it's soundtrack, and boy did this game live up to the Final Fantasy name when it came to that. Yoko Shimomura did a fantastic job composing the soundtrack for this game. Whether it was music for battle sequences, sad moments, or just when you're walking around the different city/towns, there wasn't a single soundtrack that was bad. The graphics for this game are beautiful, everything from the details in the characters, maps and even cutscenes were amazing. For a game that was in the making for over a decade, it definitely met my expectations when it came to graphics. Gameplay for this game isn't your traditional turn based system like most final fantasy games, and I was okay with that, I wanted to try something different. The controls were simple and straightforward. A few things i wish they would have done differnetly would be the ability to combo into different moves like Devil May Cry for example, as well as the dodge mechanic for the game. It's to easy, all you have to do is press and hold a button

Waited literally 10 years for this game and it was worth the wait! I would recommend to watch Kingsglaive to be more familiar with the story. FFXV Is different in every way from previous installments. The open world is great and vast and there is so much to do in the game.

This game is great for long-time fans and first-time players. Different battle system than in previous games (far more action), but it is unique and entertaining. Great graphics and story. Highly recommend.

Fiancee' loves it. She's a huge fan of the FF series though more so of the classics. The story and graphics are compelling enough for her to try and complete any and all quests she picks up, though she finds the combat system a bit odd.

If you're not into FF games for the story, this one will probably be 4-5 stars for you. The combat system is new and mostly fun. Even the lowest level of battles are entertaining. However, they essentially shipped a game with an incomplete story. An embarrassing amount of plot holes, to the point they're patching in more story later. Also, the traveling feels tedious and the load times are excessive. They also expect you to do a fair amount of pre-research into the lore with their movies. I came in wanting a free-standing story in a engrossing universe and I ended up with a good battle system with long waits between interesting things.

I'm having so much fun playing FFXV. There's a lot of variety in quests, the combat is fun, it's seamless, and it's probably the most beautiful game I've ever seen.
