Final Fantasy has been a staple in gaming since the 80's and it changes its formula up through the generations of each entry. FFXVI takes on more of an Action approach to the RPG portion of the series; roughly 90% action and 10% RPG. The change in gameplay really doesnt affect what Final Fantasy's meaning always has been, its just a direction of gameplay style. The story is one of the best in the series. The gameplay is what divides the fanbase. Try the demo out before you buy it, it definitely shows off what youll experience and whether youll like the gameplay or not.

I purchased this game with high expectations as a long-time fan of the Final Fantasy series, as well as a fan of the work of director/producer Naoki Yoshida. To say this Final Fantasy installment exceeded expectations is an understatement, and it has won a strong place in my heart as a favorite in the series. To pass this story by would be doing yourself a great disservice! All of the characters are also hot, please look forward to it.

I would like to start and address that i had no issues in picking up my copy of ff 16 deluxe on release day. With that in mind after playing about 10hrs i can admit that final fantasy is back with more action elements then rpg. The change is appreciated for combat and eoic battle soundtracks and cutscenes will keep you hooked the whole game! 10/10
