They are only allowed limited time with it but it is really a nice thing to have. One of my grandsons has learned to play games on it. His numbers and ABC 's. I highly recommend these.

So we got her another one and have had no problems. She loves it. The case is super durable but doesnt make it super bulky.

Little challenging figuring out how to download some stuff but we can control everything from our phones and have to approve everything our child tries to download. Overall 10/10

The tablet lags a lot when in use, it is also extremely small. I did not realize how small it actually was. In the future I would say to have someone holding the tablet in a photo. Someone would be able to see the scale of the tablet before buying it.

Regarding the lag you've been experiencing, here are a few troubleshooting tips that may help improve performance: restart the tablet by pressing and holding the power button for 40 seconds until the device restarts, check that the tablet is fully charged as low battery can impact performance, and close any apps that are running in the background by going to Settings > Apps & Notifications, selecting the app, and choosing Force Stop. If the lagging continues, a factory reset may help restore the device to its optimal performance — you can do this by going to Settings > Device Options > Reset to Factory Defaults.
As for the size, the Fire 7 Kids tablet features a 7" display, which is designed to be a lightweight and portable option for younger children ages 3–7. If you're looking for a larger screen experience, the Fire HD 10 Kids tablet offers a 10.1" HD display and may be a better fit.

It’s Fun for all ages, ours range from 3-7yrs old! I monitor what they are doing and for how long. Especially the Roblox games these kids are into now! They would play it on my phone until my phone was dead and then give it back, I have missed calls and messages. Our family is grateful for the Fire 7 for kids!!

Car seat sized and almost toddler tough

No protection for charging or media jack ports though. These ports are entry points for spilled liquids or toddler schmutz to reach and harm the main board - this unit was purchased as a replacement for exactly that problem, after a 3yo sacrificed his previous unit to the CapriSun gods. Upside, main board is simple to access and clean for those qualified to do so or just plain curious.
