For young children, a compact, lightweight tablet is actually easier to hold, carry, and use independently. It's built to be a kid's first tablet—portable, durable with the kid-proof case, and sized for little ones rather than adults.
However, if you're looking for a larger screen for your child, the Fire HD 8 Kids (8" display) or the Fire HD 10 Kids (10.1" display) might be a better match. Both offer the same Amazon Kids+ experience, kid-proof case, and worry-free guarantee—just with more screen real estate.

They are slow, have no memory storage and when you add a SD card it will not let you move or hardly store any apps or data on it to free up storage on the internal hard drive. Setting up the kid's accounts was not easy either. I would not recommend.
