Great evolution of the franchise

However these changes do more good than harm, and the result is a refreshing take on a great series. The school aspect may have turned some off of the game, but in reality the activities are quick and beneficial to stat-building, so if you opt to manually instruct your students then you shouldn't expect to spend more than a minute or two on each session. The game operates on a calendar month, where each "week" (using the term very loosely here, as they go by very quickly) allows you to select an activity you want to do. For example, at the start of the week you can opt to instruct your students, free roam around the castle to socialize, or go out with your students and take part in a good old fashioned Fire Emblem battle. The game really does give you the freedom to do as you please, so if you're not interested in any of the school stuff, then you can do nothing but battles each week if you prefer. This game is highly recommended for fans new and old, I definitely found it worth the wait.

A Great Fire Emblem
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a great installment in the Fire Emblem franchise. The enhanced graphics capabilities of the Switch vs. the 3DS allow for a very pretty Fire Emblem experience. The only negative thing I can even think to mention, or consider a negative, is that the downtime activities in the academy can grow a bit repetitive and stale after doing them so many times; it can begin to seem more like filler tasks than an enhancement to the story. In any case, it is overall a great game and experience. Anyone who is a fan of previous entries would most likely enjoy this one, too.

Fantastic Game with Crazy Replay Value
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I’ve been a fan of the fire emblem series for a long time and this game has become my new favorite. From the perplex story and deep connection you grow to feel for the characters, this game has me hooked. If you’re familar with the series there’s a lot quality of life improvements in battle, including basically an “undo button” for mistakes in battle. The monastery/school aspect also adds a lot to the charm, which is nice instead of just having battle after battle. I just finished my first route in game and can not wait to see what the next one has in store!

One of the best Switch games available
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Fire Emblem is one of my favorite game franchises from Nintendo and Three Houses went beyond my expectations. The game is divided into three main routes with each taking plenty of hours to complete. These three routes are mostly different from one another and each help flesh out the world of the game. The gameplay is the signature turn based system of the Fire Emblem series. The personalities and relationships of the characters are truly what make this game enjoyable. All in all, the Nintendo Switch has yet another solid console exclusive title with this game.

A near masterpiece
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Wow, where do I even begin with this one. Any Fire Emblem fans have already picked this up, and anyone who loves strategy game’s or JRPGs in general are gonna love this. Take all the best parts of previous games, throw in some great elements of Persona 5, and then ramp it up to 11, and you’ve still barely scratched the surface of Three Houses. This is the reason why I’m a gamer. You’re looking at 70+ hours just to play through as one of the houses, and there are three, each with it’s unique story and characters. Easily the best $60 I’ve spent in a long while

An experience I haven't felt in a long time
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Finally a mainline Fire Emblem game back on a home console (sorta). I got into this franchise on the old Gamecube with Fire Emblem: Path of Radience. Fire Emblem hasn't felt the same since Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn considering how supports were done and this game tones it back down to only you who gets an S support. Three Houses is very long game as it involves 3 different tellings of the same story. While the switch graphics aren't stellar, the gameplay is great. The dynamic of teaching your units skills is a very fun mechanic that makes the game feel deep.

I’ve never played Fire Emblem before and I love it
||Posted . Owned for 6 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have never played a Fire Emblem before other than the demo for awakening. I didn’t think I would like this game just from looking at it. And yet, I had a complete 180 on this game and this genre. It is really great. The battles are like chess matches and the school section is like Harry Potter meets Persona. The writing is very good and the characters are likable and interesting. I was surprised by how much I liked this game. If you’re like me and you’re hesitant, I would say it’s worth taking a chance because it paid off for me.

Watch gameplay before buying
||Posted . Owned for 11 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I knew what I was getting into when I bought this since I watched gameplay videos, but it definitely has its up and downs. Gameplay fighting mechanics is great but all the walking around and doing tasks in between fights is a snore fest in my opinion.

Great Strategy RPG for both beginners and experts!
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.GAME This is one of the best RPGs I've played on the Switch. The gameplay is very fun. I had only played one other Strategy RPG game, yet I was able to play this game easily. The story with its three paths offer a lot of variety. All of the characters are very likeable and have great voice acting. You will have a great time playing this game. QUALITY The game was in perfect condition and the case looked like it wasn't even touched.
