It does require you to buy a monitor from ring for it to work with ring. Otherwise it works as a regular detector. Funny thing it only came with one battery. Its supposed to come with two.

Great purchase

These were great because the were on sale through a 3 pack bundle and detect carbon monoxide. It also connect to the ring security system to notify me of the alarm goes off.

Works good with Ring

Its a lot less expensive way to monitor compared to a fire alarm system.

Upgraded smoke detector

The battery life is a bit shorter with it connecting to the live system. But all in all it’s a great unit.

After some initial difficulty getting them to join my z-wave controller, I finally got them fully connected. Testing sounds both the smoke and CO alarm tones but only activates the smoke alarm z-wave channel. These alarms do not communicate with each other, only the z-wave controller so one alarm is not able to sound the alarm on other units.

Ring enabled smoke and CO1 sensor

Linked to our Ring system. Not only sounds off but triggers Ring key pad and thus sends email!
