The Fitbit band does not hold the fitness tracker unit securely. Less than 30 days after I purchased this Fitbit, my son came home with an empty Fitbit band. I contacted Fitbit support, and they were unwilling to replace it, and now all we have is a band. Do not waste your money on this.

Item was not what I expected. I thought it could replace the fitbit I have which had a broken wrist band. It really was a child's fitbit would not replace my band. So, I am going to save it for Christmas for a grandchild.

    Circular setup nightmare

I strongly advise against purchasing the Acer3 Fitbit, especially if you are considering it for a child. The process of setting up an account for a minor is overly complicated and frustrating. Initially, you are required to create a Google account, which then needs to be supervised. However, the Fitbit app does not support such supervised accounts. Attempting to circumvent this by creating a standard account also leads to problems. If the age entered is below 13, Fitbit's policy restricts account creation. Conversely, if the age is 13 or above, the app denies account creation, deeming the user too old for a child's account. This situation is highly inconvenient and makes the product unsuitable for young users. Tech support seems offer the same solution often referring you back to the help page and confirm it's a known issue. The simplest solution would be to push a software update that removed the age restriction on the devices (currently restricted to under 13). We all know that Fitbit/google won't do it though.

    Tedious setup process

The setup for this thing if you dont already own one has got to be one of the most painstaking processes I ever had to go through to get something set up. I set this up originally back when my daughter got it for Christmas, and when she finally went to use it, we had to go through it again. I set up my daughters account only to find out that she isnt 13, so now I have to set up an account for a fitbit of which I do not have. You can use google to set up your account, but apparently you cannot use your google password because fitbit doesnt find it to be "secure enough". Therefore I had to log into my account using google, then change my password for fitbit, to which it had password requirements which it did not list, so I had to keep adding numbers and capitals and everything else until something worked. I THEN had to go login on the phone that is going to connect to the fitbit (which was my daughters phone), and create a family and set her up that way. The amount of stuff that you have to go through to get a little activity tracker set up is unreal.

    Terrible watch, Terrible Return policy

This is the worst Fitbit ever!! It is literally identical to my Inspire 2 but the setup is nearly impossible. I gave this to my daughter as a gift and she was in tears trying to get it to work. It took me 3 days, my android phone, desktop, and an Ipad to get it to work. Of course I was not aware that Best Buy's return policy is only 14 days now and 17 days had past since I purchased it so I could not return it for something more user friendly. Fit Bit has lost me for a customer and with Best Buy's return policy, why would anyone ever purchase anything from them. I know they have lost me as a customer.

    Google ruined Fitbit

We bought an Ace 3 for our daughter for Christmas. We have been unable to even set it up.. so i have no idea if its decent or not. Now that Google bought Fitbit, they made it impossible to even setup under our existing Fitbit accounts (we tried on our own, and then for over an hour on the phone with customer service, and still didn’t get it setup) This is one gift that’s getting returened.

Good one for kids. Rugged and tracks the steps pretty well encouraging kids to walk more. Only bad part is no colorful bands from Fitbit need to get them from third parties.

Don't buy if you use google family link

    Posted .

If you use google family link, expect it to take fitbit customer service days to respond back to how to get around this. So far, their only solution is to delete family link, establish the watch to the phone, then re-establish family link. But that only works if google has the correct DOB. When I made my daughter's email acct it would not let anyone under the age of 13 have an acct so her DOB is wrong. It's been corrected by me on google, but 3 times I've reached out to fitbit for them to change the DOB on their end and they keep telling me "higher resolution team" is needed. This has been going on for over 3 days now.
