Screen Disappoints
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was really excited to purchase my first FitBit and I was very happy with it at first. However, after about a day and a half of wearing it, I noticed a pretty significant scratch on the surface of the screen. Are you kidding me?! I can't even recall brushing it up against anything! After I noticed the scratch, I did some research online and found that many other customers complained of the same issues with their other FitBit. I am super disappointed and would warn others of this issue before making their purchase. If the screen scratches that easily, it should come with a protector.

Excellent motivator
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is my first exercise gadget and it’s working! My family and I can have a little friendly competition to see who completes the most steps. But I’ve found that I’m much more competitive against myself, trying to beat step count or miles or how many days of the week I engage in at least 15 minutes of exercise at a time. I LOVE the hourly prompt that reminds me to get up 10 min before the end of the hour if I haven’t completed 250 steps that hour. I have a desk job and can get very task focused so the reminder forces me to stop working for a couple of minutes and move. I also love the positive reinforcement when I’ve reached my goal. You have the ability to set your own targets but you’re strongly motivated to increase them in order to beat them. For someone who’s very active it may not be as helpful but for anyone looking for motivation to start a healthy lifestyle I highly recommend. I have the Alta without the HR. My mother likes being able to see her heart rate but I’m satisfied without it. I can tell when my heart rate is elevated and that’s sufficient for me. The HR model does provide more details about your sleep pattern but this one provides sufficient info for me. It’s unobtrusive on the wrist and comfortable. It also has a subtle vibration alarm if you want to set it. I also LOVE that I can receive texts and notification of a phone call (you can turn that off if the long text conversations start to bug you. It can get a little annoying to feel the constant vibration on your wrist lol.) Battery life is excellent and lasts pretty much the whole week.

Best fitness tracker yet
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Stylish and accurate, many band change options. I asked for Fit Bit Alta as a Birthday present. I've had 3 other Fit Bit trackers, the One, and 2 other HR's. All of them worked great and did what I wanted but, the sleeve for the One ripped over time, and I ended up just throwing it in my pocket; and I don't know if I was getting credit for all my steps and workouts. I really liked my HR's, they told me my heart rate but, unless you are a real fitness buff, that's something you don't necessarily watch. My new Fit Bit Alta, is my favorite. It tells me everything I want, and the new items added are a battery status and a static activity tracker. I like The battery status because with the other Fit Bits, you didn't necessarily know how much power you had left without syncing with your phone or computer. So a lot of times, I ran out of juice in the middle of the day. The static activity tracker will tell you how many minutes you where actively engaged during the day, and not just steps. With the other Fit Bits, you had to log into your account and add extra activities you did during the day to get credit. Now, the best Alta feature of all is the ability to switch bands. I now have other colored bands to match what I'm wearing, and I've purchased a black and a brown leather band for casual wear, and gold and a silver bangle bracelet which allows me to dress my Alta up for business and going out to dinner. Great job with the Fit Bit Alta you guys! I can't rave about it enough and I get all kinds of compliments on my different bands. Thank You.

Decent activity tracker
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My biggest issue with this tracker is the same as I have with most trackers. I am short and it doesn't always seem to register all of my steps. The only reason I know that it doesn't is I have worn 2 or 3 different activity trackers at the same time and they all came up with different numbers. However, I do love it. It has a nice design, easy to change out bands and battery lasts about a week.

Great starter activity tracker
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. When I was looking at activity trackers I looked at all the options and really all I wanted was basic activity tracking (steps, calories, etc) and I wanted to receive text messages. The Fitbit alta allows me to have all that and it is pretty small and durable. The battery lasts about 5-6 days depending on my activity level (also I do not wear it at night). I would and have recommended it to people.

Sleek & Super Comfy..
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was drawn to the Alta because of it's sleek look. I love the interchangeable bands and it doesn't look or feel like a bulky watch. It's functional and comfortable. I was worried about how I would feel when I slept with it on but so far so good. The online setup and sync was super easy and it stays charged for days. My only con is that I wish it had the heart rate monitor. I Love Love Love the ALTA...

Great Product
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I got the Alta and its great. It's super accurate when it comes to syncing with the Fitbit App (Apple Store/iPhone) you can track steps, calories, active time, battery, move reminders and even notifications for text messages, phone calls and calendar updates. Great device for the price, it's help a lot to keep me on track especially linked with the App.

Love the Alta style
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have been hesitant on purchasing a bracelet tracker, they seem to wide and bulky, this one is a perfect size for ladies does everything except heart rate, but even the others are not that accurate, this one is a keeper...plus you have several alternate bracelets colors and leather chooses that clip on and off very easily. Great replacement
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The wrist bands fell apart on my previous Fitbit after barely a year. This was purchased as a replacement & I like it much better. Its slimmer and looks much better and yet the letters & numbers are still easy to read. Ive had this one about a year I think & am still liking it a lot. Battery life has been great. No complaints

Great Tracker
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I switched to the Fitbit Alta when my other tracker band broke for the third time. I use them mainly for the step and sleep tracking, both of which proved to be quite accurate for me. Other key factors for me was the ease of charging and of putting the tracker on (it took a couple of times to break it in but it is very easy now).

Love this tracker!!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I did my research for a few months before I finally made a decision on which activity tracker I was growing with. This one has everything I wanted minus the heart rate monitor, but the pros outweighed the cons worthy of 5 stars. Notifications on texts, calls and event are awesome. The reminders to move are very beneficial. I'm a big dude but this little gem has made a positive impact on my life these past few months since it came out. I've been recommending it to all my friends. Love it!!

Great tracker...yet some quirks
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased the FitBit Alta after purchasing the Apple iWatch only to learn that the iWatch is not the most accurate at activity tracking. I had one of the earlier FitBit's but couldn't find the charger and saw that the device features have improved. I was contemplating purchasing the FitBit Blaze and FitBit Surge based on the features and reviews but found them to be bulky once I looked at them in person. Not to mention, although the FitBit Alta can be used as a watch, I prefer to wear my own watch and wrist jewelry so the Alta was the better option for me for fashion reasons. I really wanted a device to track calories burned and steps taken on a daily basis. I also have the FitBit scale which pairs nicely with the features of the Alta. I purchased the Alta from a Manhattan Best Buy and hopped in a cab and thought I could use it straight out of the box so I took it out of the box while in the cab and with all of the bouncing around in the cab and then walking to my destination, the Alta already registered steps by simply walking/driving with it in the box (73 steps registered) - I never put it on my wrist. Since then I notice on occasion at midnight when the device should zero out the previous days accomplishments it starts off with 73 steps. Kind of annoying and there is no way to reset it (I googled to find a solution to this and it seemed like the only one was to go back to the store and replace the device and that would have been too much of a hassle). Aside from that minor quirk, I have no other issue with the device. It lasts for days without needing to be charged. I never take it off except for when I shower and need to charge it and the wristband has caused no irritation to my wrist unlike other comments suggesting otherwise. If I am working out and sweating, if the band is on too tight it can cause a minor itching but I just loosen the band and there is no further issue. By tapping on the screen you can see the current time, steps taken, miles traveled, calories burned, number of minutes active and battery life. It has a silent alarm feature which is a more humane way of waking up and that I prefer to use over my alarm clock. The device also vibrates to remind you to get up and take a few steps if you've been inactive for a while. Initially kind of annoying but now I don't barely notice these reminders. I really wish they could figure out how to build-in a heart rate monitor feature (which I know is available on the other FitBit models) but again I prefer the sleekness of this model. I think the app works great, no complaints as it has plenty of features that makes other fitness apps less meaningful if you decide to go with FitBit. I considered many other devices but liked the sleekness of the Alta as some of the other fitness watches look like something you'd need if you worked for NASA (doing waayyyy to much). I'd recommend buying and would give it 4.5 stars if that was an option.

Good Pedometer
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this Fitbit for my mom for her birthday. I chose this one because it was the newest style and cheaper than the Charge HR that I have. It works great as a pedometer and I like that it shows your Active Minutes on screen (mine only shows them on the app). However, it is not an HR so there is no heart rate monitor which my mom doesn't seem to mind, but still a downfall. The other thing about this one that I didn't like was how the band secures itself. It uses two balls that fit into holes on the other side and it is a pain in the butt to try and get on by yourself! My Charge HR has a buckle that is infinitely easier to manage. However I am pretty sure you can switch out the bands on this one, so I would suggest buying a new band if you run into the same fastening issues my mom has. I do like the color though and the sleek design.
