Customers are saying

Customers regard the Alta Activity Tracker (Large) favorably for its sleep tracking, ease of use, and comfortable size. Many appreciate the long battery life and stylish design, along with features like step tracking and notifications. However, some users wish for a heart rate monitor and improved water resistance. A few also noted challenges with the clasp mechanism.

I had a activity tracker from another name brand but it broke twice and the message alerts were hard to read. I love how clear the display is on the item I also love you can choose from a few different options to display time. I like the flower because it makes me push myself to get in steps to make the flower grow!

Have been a Fitbit user for a while, tried Jawbone and Nike band before, the phone app is the best amongst all, tracks steps, distance, calories, and sleep (they took off the stairs climbed from Fitbit Charge). No Heart Rate sensor for this one. Personally, I cannot wear it while sleeping, because my hand always felt numb after sleeping with it on. * This is very important downside of Alta, the charging cable is poorly designed, they now use a clip to hold Alta for charging instead of a plug. The clip of my cable is broken when I want to charge my Alta for the second time!!!! And I cannot use the charger from my old Fitbit Charge. The upside is that their customer services is very good and I will get my replacement charger soon which is covered by warranty.

I had the flex before i got the alta. I liked it's same slim design. The display is good for what the flex was missing. But through alta doesn't have a stair counter or a heart rate monitor. Common areas of confusion.

To start off, I'm not the most active person. Getting this Fitbit has helped me tremendously. The Alta is smaller than the blaze so if you don't wear a watch all the time this is perfect to start with. My favorite feature is that it alerts you if you've been sitting around too long (within an adjustable timeframe even) do you can get up and move. The app is really well designed as well. The one drawback I can think of is that it isn't as responsive as I'd like it to be and most times it takes more than a few taps to get the face to turn on and by then you tap it too many times and it skips over the time so you have to cycle through all options. Regardless, it's a neat little tracker/watch and I'd definitely buy it again.

I bought the fit bit Alta to help track my steps and distance walked. Nicely styled to look like a watch. Actually does display time. Nice bonus is notification of texts and calls if you are linked to your iPhone

    This Woman's New Best Friend

Fitbit has become my new best frend. I love the features that measure steps taken, miles walked, calories burned, minutes of cardio, and my sleep patterns. Logging my food intake keeps me honest, and it helps me to make better choices. It gives me incentive to drink more water and walk throughout the day to meet my 250 steps per hour for 9 hours a day. I chose this Alta version, because the slender shape was more in keeping with my idea of what looked best, but I had to sacrifice having the Fitbit count flights of stairs climbed. Further, I see that I can buy other accessories and wear the unit in a necklace or shinier bracelet. I love the Fitbit, and I hardly recommend it to anyone.

This is really a great tracker if you want to manage your steps. I'm not a big watch person, so this works out well, I can change the bands to wear it as a watch. And it tracks my sleep too!

I've been using the Fitbit Alta for a few weeks now and it's great. It's a good midrange Fitbit, has great battery life, and having the display is a real plus compared to the entry level model. The main issue I have is with the wrist band. My old Fitbit had a traditional wrist band where you push the little stick through the hole where it fits on your wrist comfortably. This band has 2 little push pins that you have to press through rubber holes. It's hard to get it to snap and often hurts your wrist trying to push it hard enough to snap on. A regular band would have been much better, so that would be my only negative critique. Overall, it's a good value.

I like the size of the fit it. It isn't bulky nor heavy. You can set your exercise goals. You get a notification if you haven't been active. You can change the band's. Low battery alert.

The Alta is slim which is nice and it seems to track pretty good. The added feature of text and call notification is a big plus. If you do not want a bulky thing to wear, I recommend this one

The new Alta is an improvement over previous styles. I like the slim and sleek design. It seems sometimes you have to tap is fairly hard to bring up the display, but so far I like everything else. Time will tell. My previous Fitbit was a Charge HR and it literally fell apart days before this one arrived.

Bought this fit bit for my boyfriend and he loves it. He use to have the previous version which was not that good since it got worn out and the straps ripped. With this new version strap can easily be changed to any style and its long lasting. i would def. recommend this product

I love my fitbit! I wear it in the pool (not lap swimming though) and in the shower and it works great! It doesn't have the heart rate monitor but that doesn't bother me. I only have to charge mine about once a week! I love that it tracks my sleep as well! You can input how much water you drink, food you eat, additional exercise, and weight into the app so you can track those as well. I don't use the silent alarm but the vibrate was just enough to wake me up in the morning when I sleep the lightest. My only complaint is that there isn't a dim option for night time, but if your sleeping I don't think the light/screen goes off.

This Fitbit has some nice upgrades, easily replaced bands, clock comes on when you turn your wrist, battery level display, etc. My wife decided to get one herself for her replacement.

My wife has had a fitness tracker (different brand) for 18 months, and I've been thinking about getting one for the past few months, so a few weeks ago on the eve of a vacation we swung by a Best Buy that was just off the highway and I picked up one of these. I rarely make snap purchases, but I had at least looked at some "top 10" lists and read some reviews prior to buying. The setup process was not nearly as smooth as advertised, but after reading some forum posts, letting the device charge up overnight and resetting it I finally got it to synch with my S5. Since I had never purchased a tracker before, I must admit I didn't think it through all the way. For example, the Alta isn't waterproof, so it must be removed when showering, swimming, etc. ... taking it off when I shower isn't such a big deal, but I was disappointed that I couldn't wear it when swimming (after all, swimming surely counts as a fairly common activity, right? ... and you can believe that I took some good-natured ribbing from my wife, who has no such issue with her Polar Loop). Again, this is my fault for not thinking about that factor before purchasing, but is a shortcoming for those who like to swim. The device doesn't seem to do a good job of recording zero-impact activity such as stationary bike or elliptical, but perhaps that is a typical issue with these things. I've only had one issue with synching thus far, which was resolved by rebooting my phone. Aside from that, however, it seems like a solid and useful device. The band is comfortable and I haven't had any issues fastening it, but I can see how someone with reduced finger strength would have problems. I'm not sure what I will do with the sleep tracking information, but it's interesting to look at. I think I like the default reminders pushing me to get 250 steps each hour, even if I often cannot head them. And I can now track my steps without necessarily having my phone in my pocket. I'm going to keep using it for a month or two and then decide whether I like using a tracker, and if so, I will use this experience to determine which device (if not the Alta) would be a better fit for me.

I like the Alta. It is a perfect upgrade from the Flex. I work in an office, and it is easy to lose track of time. I like the reminder to get up and move. Also, all your stats without syncing.

Easy to read display. Easy to use. Notifies me when I get a text or call. The only drawbacks are that it doesn't track heart rate and the sleep feature is really not accurate.
