Customers are saying

Customers regard the Alta Activity Tracker (Large) favorably for its sleep tracking, ease of use, and comfortable size. Many appreciate the long battery life and stylish design, along with features like step tracking and notifications. However, some users wish for a heart rate monitor and improved water resistance. A few also noted challenges with the clasp mechanism.

I it almost impossible to put this fit bit on without assistance. I can not even wear it many days because I have no one at home when I leave for work to fasten it for me.

I don’t feel like this lasted for as long as I should have been able to use it. I am pretty active at work so something durable is required

I really thought the FITBIT would do more than it does. The FITBIT only knows how much you move, and thinks it's counting steps. Really not worth the money.

    Love my Alta

I LOVE my Fitbit Alta! It's a great size, I love that I can see my activity right on the device (unlike with the flex that I purchased first) and I love that I can change the bands to match what I'm wearing. I wish it had a heart rate monitor but changing the bands was more important to me which is why I chose this and not the charge HR. I will buy a new one if they come out with one that does do that. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is bc sometimes it doesn't come on easily and I have to tap the heck out of it to see my display. I definitely recommend it though!

I don't know if I got a dud but doesn't work well... I have to actually hit the device hard for any of the icons to appear or shut alarm off :(

I switched from a MisFit Shine to a FitBit Alta about a month ago. I had the Shine for 6 months. Loved it. Water proof, bullet proof. Problem was that no one else had one. Not a lot of fun to workout alone. Everyone I know had a FitBit. I had a $40 rewards certificate expiring so I used it on the Alta. Pros: light and acts like a watch. I never wear my watch any more. The Misfit Shine did as well. I like that I can get text message notices. You cannot read them but you see who they are from at least. I also like the notifications to get up and move as well as the ability to set goals and monitor activity on my Samsung Galaxy S6. Charge lasts 5 days or thereabouts. I never take it off except to charge it. No problems sleeping in it or showering with it. Display is good. you can tap on the display to get your total steps, miles , calories and minutes of exercise. The watch feature activates simply by twisting your wrist toward you. I like that a lot. Lots of people have FitBits so your Facebook friends can participate in challenges with you and taunt you. So far, pretty durable. I wore it on a camping trip and wasn't gentle on it. Made it fine. CONS: The band clasp stinks. It isn't hard to pop it out and lose the darn thing. No idea why they don't make it with a leather band with a clasp like a real watch. Why they cannot make a mini-usb charging port on these things, I don't know. If you loose the special charging chord, you are out of luck and have to buy a new one. Water resistant it is...water proof it is not since the female port is exposed under the face of the FitBit. Fine enough to shower without damaging but don't go jumping into a pool. I wish they used a watch battery to make it enclosed and completely water and element proof like the MisFit Shine. My biggest issue with it though is how it measures steps. I can walk 500 steps and count them. It will say I took 575 or overstate it by 15%. It also counts steps as I type this review on the keyboard for some reason. Any slight activity it counts as a step. It did seem to accurately measure calorie burn when I went light jogging on the treadmill (at least it matched what the treadmill said). Overall it is good but could use some tweaks to be very good.

Not as many features as the HR, and Charger; for the price I expected more; the only plus is the interchangeable wrist bands

Fitbit would not stay on. I have had my fitbit for not even reach 24 hours and it would not work or stay on i called customer support twice and they decided to send me a replacement. They did not want the older fitbit. They told me to either recycle it or throw it away to me that means it is not a good product and not worth trying to refurbish. Not worth the 140 dollar.

This was such a disappointment! I had to wait to have it shipped because all stores in my area were out of stock .The app is very confusing and NOT user friendly. The charger was difficult to insert ..the band is IMPOSSIBLE to fasten and does not stay clasped. I had the watch for one month and it fell off and is now lost. What a waste of money!
