Customers are saying

Customers regard the Alta Activity Tracker (Large) favorably for its sleep tracking, ease of use, and comfortable size. Many appreciate the long battery life and stylish design, along with features like step tracking and notifications. However, some users wish for a heart rate monitor and improved water resistance. A few also noted challenges with the clasp mechanism.

    Don't bother!

My first Alta is 20 months old. At 18 months, it stopped taking a full battery charge. Per Fitbit, "don't worry, it'll be fine." At 19 months, it reached the point that it required 6 hours of charging to work for 4 hours. Per fitbit, yeah, my battery is defective, but ooops, out of warranty. They gave me a 25% discount on a new one, shipped directly from them. Rather than the 3-5 days they promised for shipping, it was 8. It was also defective out of the box, which they confirmed after 6 hours of them trying to find it with their connect app. Their solution? Send it back via FedEx at their expense, and 7-10 week days later they'd send me another one that probably wasn't defective via Fed Ex. Except that their version of Fed Ex is the combined Fed Ex/USPS that is actually parcel post, and we're talking up to 10 week days each way. So now I'm up to 38 week days, over 5 weeks, to chance that my 3rd attempt at an alta is not defective as the first 2 were, while they hold my money. Seriously not worth the time and money. Friends tell me purchasing from Best Buy with the replacement warranty makes it work better, but for the cost of a fitbit, their actual product and customer service needs to be a whole lot better. I'm going out to try other brands today, which is a shame, because I've had 3 fitbits in 4 1/2 years, and that's too doggone expensive to keep on doing. Do you really want to spend that much for tracking?

I like the tracker, but the color is way off!

I really like the tracker a lot. The steps are accurate, the texts and call feature is nice, but the thing that I was really bummed about is the color! I ordered the blue for the color. I am a huge fan of navy blue. All of the pictures on best buy, amazon, and even Fitbit show the band to be a dark navy blue. When I opened mine, the band is actually a much lighter royal blue color. I was mad that I spent $130 on this thing and didn't even get the color that was pictured. Fitbit dropped the ball on this one.

    Fitbit line No Go

Complaint: cost of replacement chargers is high and finding a charger is sometimes impossible. How is it possible that all major phone designers have one type of charger for their products, while Fitbit has a different charger for every single device. Most people will lose their charger at some point. Finding the Alta charger is impossible in stores.

    Great at first

This Fitbit is like all the rest it works great for 6-8 months and then it won't work anymore. It does not sync like it should. Then for no reason the charge won't keep as long until one day it's just dead. I plugged it in battery indicator showed it had a full charge yesterday evening then this morning nothing it's dead again. I wouldn't have kept replacing these bands a while ago but I really like the silent alarm have have been using it for years!!!!! This is at least my 3rf version of a Fitbit band and I've probably replaced each version of the band a couple of times! Fitbit needs to make something that lasts not just a new band every year.

    Updated flex

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

All this is an update to the previous model flex. Steps are inconsistent and battery life has already started to diminish. I'm sure the band is next to go. Get the add on warranty for this because your gonna need it. Fitbit will send you a refurb replacement but like to make you jump through hoops first. Compared steps with old fashioned pedometer and gps on phone and it's off by approx +20%

No floor count or HR monitor - a BIG miss in my book. Looks good but less functionality than my last Fitbit. Fitbit is losing it's mojo.

    Disappointed

I had a Fitbit Charge for a year and liked it. I purchased the Alta because it was more feminine looking. I returned it because it was very hard to put on and when I was outside I couldn't see the screen because of the glare. I'm back to the charge because I like it much better.

the band product itself is awesome, and the band works perfectly...but it is not worth 20.00 for a replacement band

I bought this Alta HR in March 2018 based on positive reviews. However, right from beginning its not functioning properly and unfortunately their support is worst.
