Nice upgrade from my flex however the notifications drop off occasionally which is part of the reason I traded up to this one but seems to be a known problem. Hopefully they will fix it soon. Other than that tracks well, display is awesome.

Absolutely love it! Tracks my movements, keeps me motivated, always in touch with my friends - we're down for the work week hustle every week (I lose every week) --- but the days I hit my goal - and get those cheers are really motivating!

Fitbit's website does not do a good job of listing what devices are actually compatible with this model. It turns out that the software requires Android 2.4 or higher, but nowhere is that information available. You get stuck into an endless tech support loop of "Upgrade your software" when the Play store won't GIVE you the software that you actually need because your phone is too old -- even though the phone is still sold by major carriers! The fastener for this tracker is murder to take on and off -- they really do want you to leave it on once you get it on. The sizing isn't accurate either -- my wife, with a small wrist, is too large for the small but too small for the large... The display doesn't always become visible when you move your wrist, and the virtual "button" area that you tap on doesn't respond most of the time. I'd seriously avoid this model in favor of the older Charge, which has a real clasp and works with more devices, and has a physical button. Fitbit, why did you mess with a good thing?

I brought this Fitbit for my mom so she could monitor her steps and exercise pattern. She goes to aqua exercise classes 4 times a week the problem is she can’t use in sauna or steam room. Will exchange for watch that can.

Easy to use. Easy to connect online. My next answer says I would not recommend product when I actually wanted to say I do not recommend products. I just tell how they are with me.

Gave this to my mom as a Christmas gift because she was wanting to get in shape and she fell in love with it. She was really excited when she found out that it displays calls and messages as well as counting steps and calories burned

Only challenge was the age restriction when setting up. It is rated E but if under 13 it will not let you set up an account for that person. But she wears it proud and keeps her constantly thinking about how to beat previous numbers.

Great motivator and reminder to leave my desk and get a little walking in. Great app also. Only complaint is that the vibrating reminder should be a little stronger as at times I don't feel it. Perhaps because I'm too focused when I work.

Bought the item like it looks, and then decided I would like to purchase the bracelet because my wife liked this item. therefore I gave my wife the item with the bracelet and she looks great with it on her arm. Good investment

Do like this one. Cons no back light, can't get accurate account of steps over 1k as it counts by 1,000. Do like the thinner look and strap. Prefer charging as it was a pain to change battery in the Garmin.

I work in an ER and it goes through a lot of abuse at my job. And with me constantly washing my hands I needed something that was going to stand up and not break. This thing has lasted through a lot and it still works. Fantastic product

I bought the fitbit after I had a jawbone. The fitbit is better constructed than the jawbone. The strap has a better fastener and I have no problems with it falling off my wrist like the jawbone. I love that it monitors my sleep also.

My daughter loves this fit bit. We were able to go right to the store to purchase it. They had the color and size she needed, she was so happy. Great customer service help also.

About 2 months ago, I decided to give up my 1.25 hour commute and move closer to the office. I selected a place within walking distance, a luxury I adore. To track my increased activity, I decided to buy a tracker. After doing a lot of research I decided to purchase the FitBit Alta. I liked its ability to track sleep, and notify me of incoming messages and meetings. The tracker works well. I calibrated the watch multiple times. It is extremely accurate, +/-2%, oftentimes less. The notifications are great. The alarm feature alone is worth the purchase price. It gently buzzes you awake without assaulting your ears or disturbing guests. That's where the positives end. First off, the alta is not very responsive. Oftentimes i have to tap the bottom of the screen multiple times before it responds. This unresponsiveness is particularly annoying when trying to turn off the alarm in the morning or catch an automatic notification. Next, this model does not have a heart rate monitor. It's very weird that it does not include one; it is an exercise tracker after all. As for the next feature, the sleep tracker that is included is mediocre at best. It does not accurately report the hours you sleep nor does it aggregate your evening sleep into one day if you are awake for more than 30 minutes in the middle of the night. More generally, the watch does not sync well with my Samsung phone. Periodically I must force them to sync to ensure my results are recorded. Like many other reviews mentioned, I agree. The screen is exceeding soft and scratches deeply very easily, a strange feature in a watch. All that said, the feature I like the least is the band. I am pretty sure the designers never wore the watch prior to production. The watch pinches the nerves that run down my forearm and wrist leaving my arm and fingers a little numb and in pain after only wearing it for a couple of hours. I have a very skinny wrist so people with a normal forearm may not have as much of an issue; however, my size is no excuse for poor design. The second issue with the band is that it is very difficult to put on and take off. Given that it is not waterproof and it's pretty uncomfortable to wear, you generally take it off frequently. You end up sinking valuable morning minutes into fiddling with the watch. Thirdly the wristband gets dirty very easily. I have only been wearing my band on and off for 6 weeks and it is already covered with dark blue stains. I don't even know the source of the stain. I have not worn new jeans in years. Generally, I am disappointed. The FitBit Alta is the first step/sleep tracker I have owned, so I cannot compare it to others on the market. It does the job of tracking steps very well but has massive design flaws. Unless you need a tracker now like I did, I would wait for the Alta HR (whenever they decide to launch that.) Hopefully the next model will address these poor design flaws.

This fitbit tracks steps that haven't really occurred with arm movements. In addition, my biking doesn't get recorded in any way. My most favorite option is checking my sleep patterns.

The app was an issue when installing. Took over an hour trying to set up. But once it was set up, it was working great. I love my fitbit. Had a slight issue when it updated. The app kinda sucks but the actual product is nice.

Bought the Alta for my son. He seems to really like it. It was easy for him to figure out, very user friendly. I bought myself a Charge 2 and he likes it better only because it counts exact steps. The Alta rounds to nearest 100.

Our experience was wonderful. I bought a gift for my granddauther and the salesman was so helpful. He went beyond the call of duty helping her. She is only 10 so he explained everything to her on her level. I was very impressed.

I was previously a Flex owner. My husband got me this one for Mother's Day and I love it! I didn't realize how much I would use the clock, texting alerts, and call alerts! It is so convenient! I also like the looks of this one better.

Sleep deprived and bruised. Not what I hoped. I Gave my daughter my flex and missed having the input from a steps tracker so bought this. First, Best Buy did not have a display model and I was told to just buy it and return it if I didn't like it. Gonna do that. I have bruises on my wrist from trying to clasp it. After the step counter my favorite feature is the vibrating alarm but there isn't a button to push to turn off, you have to double 'tap' it to turn off. Takes more than an indiscreet 'tap'. So at 4 in the AM I'm slapping my wrist repeatedly and it still vibrates LOUD again in 10 minutes. Also every time I move my arm the bright light on it activates. My Fitbit dashboard says last night I was awake or restless 16 times!! No kidding? Because my sleep monitor keeps waking me up!! The text and caller ID moves so fast..it's useless. I like the vibrating notification but I still have to go find my phone to see who called.
