Customers are saying

Customers recognize the Alta Activity Tracker (Small) for its ease of use, small size, and effective step tracking capabilities. Many appreciate the sleek design, long battery life, and sleep tracking features, while also noting the accuracy of its data. However, some users found the band and clasp difficult to use, and the lack of a heart rate monitor was also a common point of feedback. Additionally, the display's readability in sunlight was mentioned as an area for improvement.

Purchased this for my daughter as Christmas present, but have had one of my own for almost a year. I love it. It's great for tracking your steps throughout the day and gives you reminders to get up and move. I use it with the free app and map my walks and runs. It even tracks your sleep. I started walking much more since I got it and have lost about 30 lbs from just walking. I would recommend this as a great diet and exercise support devise. Only thing I don't like is that I've had to replace the band twice, but probably because I only take it off to charge it so it gets a lot of wear. Also, another plus is that charging is only needed about once a week and it charges really quick. The app is great because it allows you to set up to your preferences and limits to your own pace and goals.

    Love my Fitbit Alta

I have hearing loss and cannot hear alarm clocks. My Fitbit Alta wakes me up on time with vibrations on my wrist. It's easy to set the alarm using the Fitbit app my android phone. I tried another fitness wrist band make, but had to return it as it was too hard to manage and it kept waking me up at the wrong time or not vibrating at all. The daily distance walked was way too long. I think it measured the bumpy dirt roads I drive on. My Alta shows me believable distance walked and hours slept each day. It also shows me on the phone app graphs of weekly distances and sleep hours. It vibrates when I get a text msg or voice mail, but does not bother me with email notifications. It shows the time when I twist my wrist or tap the display. Otherwise the display is dark, which extends the battery life. I love my alta. It's an important part of my life now. The only thing I have a problem with is putting on the band and getting the little posts into the holes. And sometimes the band comes apart when I catch the band closure on an immovable object. But the curve of the band keeps it on my wrist, preventing it from falling to the ground. I think they have alternate bands available though.

    Sleek Band

After reading reviews on the Fitbit Alta I decided to buy one. I was a little concerned about sizing it on my wrist because I was right between a small and a large but the small was perfect for me. I used an online template to decide. I loved the sleek band because I don't like wide bands. I originally wanted something that would count my steps but this device does so much more! I love that it monitors my sleep, wakes me up in the morning by vibrating my wrists, reminds me to take steps every hour and tracks my exercise. The only problem I've had with it is snapping it on. It is very difficult but after reading online solutions, a drop or two of all of vegetable oil makes it doable. I'm also considering purchasing the leather band since reviews say that this is more malleable and easier to put on. The Fitbit Alta is great and much more than I bargained for. I would buy it again in a heartbeat!

So, I bought two of these; one for my wife and one for me. I bought this mainly for myself so that I could track my sleep patterns and, secondly, to wake myself in the mornings silently. My wife did not like my phone alarms going off because it would always wake her up in the mornings, but now she can sleep in when she needs to, because only I feel my alarm. The steps are a little off, but nonetheless, I love how slim it is and how sleek it looks so half the time, I don't even realize I have it on. I love that it shows text messages and phone calls when they come in o that I don't have to take out my phone every time. The feel of the band is nice too. Many people complained about it irritating their skin, but I have had no issues whatsoever yet and I wear it the whole day for several days until I have to charge it again. The battery life lasts about 5 days as well which is great. It is awesome that I can get calendar notifications on it too, so in case I'm not looking at my calendar my Alta will remind me. Overall, I have thoroughly enjoyed this Fitbit so far! 5 out of 5

    Improvement over my FitBit One

I upgraded to the Alta after years with a FitBit One. I love the automatic sleep tracking, as well as the wrist band style - I was forever clipping the One to my bra and accidentally throwing it into the dirty clothes, not to mention getting "pinched" by the One in all the wrong ways! The Alta has a wonderful, sleek design that's a bit more convenient. However, I think I'm going to have to be careful I don't scratch the display. It's larger than other wrist models, which is great. But, I think it's more prone to damage. Also, sometimes I have to tap it 4 or more times to get it to "wake up." But, then, in the middle of the night, I'll just roll over and it will activate. So strange. But, over all, great for basic tracking of steps and sleep. I will also say, the closure is a bit clumsy. I wish this was a more traditional watch band closure. But, I'm getting used to it. I have not tried switching out the band...

Love my new Fitbit Alta. Very petite design. Let's me know when I've received a message or call plus an excellent tracker of my activity, exercise and sleep. Love the clock feature too and I can also change bands.. Size small feels great on my small wrist.

I received the Fitbit Alta as a birthday present from my daughters. I like the slim design. The Fitbit Alta tells the time, keeps track of steps, distance, calories burned, active minutes, among other things. It gives you reminders to move and celebrates you when you achieve a goal. You can receive smart notifications at a glance which allows you to keep your phone out of sight. It also allows you to track your sleep. The battery life is approximately 5 days. A couple of drawbacks are that it can be difficult to read the display in the bright light and it is not waterproof. However, it is water resistant. Overall, I love my Fitbit.

The fitbit Alta is amazing! I love it's design, slim and simple. It states that it is water resistant-havn't tried it yet. But all in all great product! It notifies you when someone is calling, displays txt msg! I love that it tracks my sleep! The only dnwside that is that the step count might be off by a few points. I wore it when I was sick and was stuck on the couch the whole day! In the morning It said i had 288steps. It didnt make sense because I was on the couch the whole time and prolly just got up to use the bathroom. Another flaw is that sometimes when I lift my wrist to check the time, the display wont turn on.

We bought this for our teenage daughter for Christmas. She loves it! It perfectly meets her needs of keeping her active and showing her how much sleep she is actually getting. She has very petite wrists and it fits perfectly. We are very happy with this purchase!

I like that that it looks more stylish than the regular Fitbits, and so much easier to snap on. One try and it is on. I had trouble with the other style of catch. It almost looks like a watch. It gives the time, steps, which is what I wanted it for, miles and sleep and things I have not gotten into yet. An added feature is it vibrates when you get a text and reads it and vibrates for phone calls and tells you who is calling. I love it. The charge lasts a long time. Only take it off to shower and charge.

I have really enjoyed my Alta. It's lightweight, sleek, and attractive. First of all, this band secures significantly better than the Flex band did. I like how it vibrates every hour during the day to encourage me to move more. I also like how I can get my text messages, call & calendar notifications on it so that I don't have to take out my phone every time. However, it is more difficult to turn on via tap versus the Flex. And it takes some practice to get it to respond and light up when you move your wrist. It took me about a week to figure out when and how to move my wrist/tap it to see the call/text notifications. Another downfall is there is a max number of characters it displays per text. The positive side of this is you can see if it's a text that you need to respond to immediately versus something that can wait till later. However, it is aggravating to have to take out your phone to read the rest of the text message. My last complaint would be the charger. It is tedious to align the small prongs with the fitbit main body. However, two aspects that I really enjoy are the silent alarm availability and the ability to see a battery meter on the screen! (decreases it randomly dying in the middle of the day). Overall, I am really pleased with my Alta and will keep it for awhile. Most of the items I am not happy about can be addressed through software changes/upgrade. So they might work themselves out in the future.

I received my new band a week ago tomorrow. I charged it fully when I got it, and have worn it continuously since then. It still has more than 50% battery life! I love the new features on this band. I replaced my 3 year old Flex, which I have also loved, because it was not holding a charge for very long any more, and it didn't want to sync with my phone. I love the hourly reminders to move more as well. I also purchased the pinkish leather band, so far, loving it as well.

For years my family has been obsessed with their Fitbits and I had always made a mockery of them, teasing them when ever possible "gotta get your steps in." It wasn't until Fitbit announced the Alta that I was ever remotely interested in getting one. After doing strenuous research I decided to finally give in and buy one and now I understand why my parents have been Fitbit fanatics for years! The Alta is perfect. It counts your steps, miles, active minutes, exercise duration, and most of all tracks your sleep. If you are someone who likes knowing the time but doesn't want the bulk of a watch, the Alta is for you. Not only does is track your fitness but it tells you the time and gives you notifications when you receive texts, calls, and calendar alerts.

I have owned my fitbit for a full year and am still amazed that it works so well at motivating me to push for my goals every day. the screen is pretty worthless in bright sun, but great inside and at night. I don't know about the cycling, but it seems to count steps accurately. The battery charge lasts a full week. The regular fitbit doesn't count heart rate, but this is not a drawback. The wristband has enough range to fit even a very small wrist. I love it.
