Customers recognize the Alta Activity Tracker (Small) for its ease of use, small size, and effective step tracking capabilities. Many appreciate the sleek design, long battery life, and sleep tracking features, while also noting the accuracy of its data. However, some users found the band and clasp difficult to use, and the lack of a heart rate monitor was also a common point of feedback. Brought for my wife. She wanted to upgrade from her Flex. Has a clear display, fits well and seems to track quite accurately. The ability to get text and call notifications is nice.

So I had a Samsung Gear S2 before I got the Alta for Christmas. I didn't love the Samsung because I'm a petite woman and the watch was huge on me. It also snagged onot you clothes all the time. This does everything that I used the S2 for, except heartrate. I do miss that little feature. I love the sleep log! That's my favorite. This doesn't snag as much. It's small and feminine. It really does hold up well in the shower! I love it. Oh! The best part is the band! The S2 was soo hard to take the band off! These are a breeze! Love!

    Great activity counter

The Alta is a great exercise tracker. It is easy to use and is straight forward if you want to keep track of the basics -- steps, distance, calories, etc. If you are a super serious athlete, look elsewhere -- no altimeter, gps, etc. Pairing it with a smartphone shows info pertinent to me and it reminds me when I forget to get up and walk around during the day after my morning workout. The band was stiff at first but got more flexible. It is attractive enough for the average person to use all day in all environments.

    FitBit is awesome but..

No this isn't a bad review nor a good review. I got my Fitbit Alta about a little over a month ago, with hopes to motivate me to be a little more active and yes it worked. The little reminders to move every hour was a little boost that would remind me to move, as opposed to when I didn't have it. But here is the thing, the FitBit App let's you add friends so you can cheer and taunt each other as a form of motivation. One casual day a boy in my Spanish class pointed out we both had the same FitBit and I was like omg add me! He had no idea you could add friends on there ! And that's were it began. About a week later he messaged me on the FitBit app and his excuse was "I just wanted to see if it worked" well guess what IT WORKS! From there we moved on to texting and hanging out, I slowly began to fall for this kid. But this guy had a rough past, and I was nothing more but determined to help him out. Things started out great but eventually took on a rollercoaster of emotions. What didn't help is that we are both hopeless emotional people, now as I sit here writing this review, I think back and ask myself why did I buy this FitBit? This would have never happened if I was wearing it that day... Long story short now I'm patiently waiting to go to my Spanish Class so I can get my FitBit charger from him because he lost his and well my FitBit is dead right now...(Ps. Yes it does hold a 5 day Charge!) Thank you for your time but yes #FitBitFsLives... I know it F'd with mine...

I love my Fitbit! I've had it for only a week now but it has given me so much more motivation to work out. I don't have problems with the touchscreen. I've noticed that if you hit the touchscreen using most of your finger that it works every time. You can't just use your fingertip. Battery life is good, I don't have a problem seeing the screen outside. My favorite part is the size of this Fitbit. It's great for woman and people with small wrists. Definitely a smart buy for anyone wanting a Fitbit that is stylish.

    Better than flex or charge

I purchased this Fitbit Alta for my wife about 8 months ago. The Alta has held up well and does everything my wife likes tracks steps/activity, sleep, and doubles as a wrist watch. Two major improvements over flex and charge: LED display and replaceable bands. My wife loves the option to swap out the bands and also the small narrow size on her wrist. Only downside I would say is the battery life isn't as good as the flex given the display uses more battery. All in all I would recommend this Fitbit.

    Didn't work on the elliptical

The design is beautiful I loved it, but I had to exchange for the charge hr. It did not count activity on the elliptical even though it suppose to. I checked my settings and after an hour still nothing. The reminder telling me to move went on while I was using the elliptical!

I was excited about this Alta particularly because it is small and has clock face in it. So I don't need to wear a watch anymore. I have this about a month already. Very comfortable and nice looking on my wrist with any outfit. I only have silicon bands. It tracks my activity and quality of sleep (but no cardio for those who care) High capacity battery life with fast usb charging.

I love the new Fitbit Alta! I have had fitbits in the past and love the sleekness of this band. I have had it for about a week and so far I love every bit of it! I especially love the vibrations to remind me to move every hour and whenever I get a call or text! I can be in my workout class and read a text right off the screen without ever reaching for my phone. Love!!

    Adequate Activity Tracker

Before purchasing the Alta I had the Flex for over two years. The Flex worked great for me and did everything I needed it to do without the bells and whistles. I've had the Alta for about a month now here is what I have noticed about it: I like the reminders to get up and move every hour but I wish the vibration was different than the text call notification. Sometimes when it vibrates I assume it is a text or call and ignore it all together. I wish there was a certain way to set the text and call notifications to happen between certain times. I do not like going to bed to only be woken up by a text message vibration on my wrist. The screen is nearly impossible to see outside in the daytime. The battery life seems to last for 4 to 5 days. This product is comparable to the Flex in regards to what it can do. The main difference is the screen on the Alta tells you a lot more than the Flex. I like that I can see my steps, the time, battery life, etc. Overall I think Fitbit can make improvements but I have been pleased with my Alta. It keeps me moving and that is the my main purpose for using an activity tracker. I did purchase the additional warranty offered through Best Buy because almost everyone I know has had to send their Fitbit back at sometime or another.

I had an older fitbit model so decided it was time for an upgrade. Got this one back in march and used since then. Love, Love Love, I never take it of (only to charge) I sleep, shower, swim, go out and never had a problem. It is the perfect size and has everything I need. If you are looking to buy a pedometer, i would recommend 100%! :)

    Nice motivational tool

Ok let's face it, there are no perfect activity trackers out there. This is the 3rd style of Fitbit I've owned, they all have their pros and cons. Of the One, Flex and Alta, the Alta is my favorite. Warning though, if you don't move your arms while walking, it won't count your steps...so if you are pushing a grocery cart or carrying your baby/toddler...you're out of luck, none can track steps without the swinging motion. I love the band, it is really comfy and stays latched very well without catching on things like the band on the charge does (my sister has a charge, I love the HR monitor but hate the band on it). The sleep tracking on the Alta is better than any I've seen and that's fun to look at. I like that it buzzes at me to get moving every hour as I have a desk job and can forget while engrossed in work. I love the online features Fitbit has for their trackers. As long as you don't expect it to be 100% accurate on step count, use it as motivation, a watch, whatever. I'd be happier if this had a way to count flights of stairs and track heart rate like some of Fitbit's other models do but I love the size of this tracker and the band style.

This product not work with all phones. It said it works with windows phone but you will not get the miscall notifications or text only the workout and you might have to use your PC. This a problem for the price that they are charging. But it looks nice. I also have the sony talk band and you can make calls & receive phone calls and talk through the smart band talk and it very nice & it not big in size nice app.

I bought this fitness tracker because of the exceptional battery life which my apple watch lacks. I gave it 4 stars because it doesn't have a heart rate monitor. But overall the function of this fitbit is good enough for my needs

I got this for a great discounted price with rewards. Today was my first day wearing it. I noticed that it would track some of my movements as steps that were clearly not steps. Well I was driving it added a few steps to my count. At work i had to pick up and move around some heavy bags and it counted as part of my active 30 min it also picked up my activity while i was playing bball with my son which i find pretty cool. It is very lightweight. I do not wear watches but I barely noticed that I was wearing it. When you first get it you will have to charge it, my battery was empty. You will also have to sync it to the app which takes about 10 mins before using it.

    Not Impressed

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

I purchased this in April 2016 and was rather impressed with it for the first month. The second month I was not too impressed. It does not count steps accurately, the device over sleeps often and it can not tell the difference between walking/running. The first month or so with this device was amazing. It was fairly accurate to what it was advertised to do. The second month is when all the glitches started to show. Steps Are Not Accurate I have my stride set appropriately to my account. I have yet to have the device properly calculate. I run walk a lot to train and my device can not tell the difference between the two. The device does not calculate properly. When I calculate my run/walk to a map then check it to my device it is off. Lately my device will stop showing the steps counting up. It will freeze for a bit then catch up. If it does at all. Some times it’s accurate other times its not. Device Over Sleeps The device generates a sleep algorithm to your movement patterns. I work retail with rotating random schedules and sleep patterns. The device is confused and will try to sleep during the day. When it does decide to sleep at night it often over sleeps. I slept 6.5 hours one night and it went for about 9 hours. I went on a walk shortly after I woke up and got to about 6,000 steps. It still wouldn’t wake up. I tried syncing it to my phone, then my computer. Still asleep. It had to wake up on its own. This happens a lot. Low Power Device The device is low powered and is difficult to read in any sort of sun light. If you need to read the clock on your walk: You can’t! This is a nuisance because I’m often on a time crunch. Blu-tooth only Device This device operates solely on blu-tooth. The only two ways you can transfer data from the device to the web is your phone or the wifi port that came in the packaging. Mine only worked for a month or so before it became useless. I will give my Fitbit one more week to see if it’s working accurately. I do not feel it right to be told I have to update it every few months to get it to work properly.
