I never experienced a weight scale like this before. This is a triple threat against fat, lack of exercise, and poor diet. One of a kind product!!

Seemed dumb, but a great purchase

When I first saw this scale, the price and functionality seemed dumb. It seemed like a thing for rich people. I got tired of inputting my weight in MyFitnessPall for tracking manually. This was worth the money. My girlfriend thought it was dumb to spend $120 on a scale, but she loves it now also. I wish the WiFi radio was better, but if this was even more money with better Wifi, no one would buy it. 802.11b is WAY old. Can I at least get an N so I don't have to set my WiFi router to be that low? It works, but that initial sync was frustrating to reconfigure my router.

Scale hooked up to the wifi very easily. And just by your weight it knows who is on the scale and downloads it right to your Fitbit account. Very Cool!!

    Don't ever move

The scale is cool and served well the first few months. Until I moved and have not been able to successfully change the wifi since. It's now been over a year, their customer service is unhelpful (he literally answered with 'Hello' and I thought I was transferred to someone's home number) and I still can't sync my scale because changing the wifi is so difficult.

Easy to set up, works great, good construction, it is expensive but if you are looking for a scale to pair with your smartphone this is a great product.

    Ok once set up

I have used quite a few Fitbit products over the years and have been such a fan if their ease of use. I did not have that same experience with this scale. It's trickier to set up and link to your account, and others. Since it has been linked it has been fine, but that was a surprise to me. As for the weight itself, the pounds seem accurate, but the body fat % seems way off (I went to 2 different places for weigh ins. They were very similar, but differed from this Fitbit scale by 7%) As I am Judy looking for accountability, I can always just take the progress from where I started, but that is a bit concerning it is off that much.

    A good fitness scale

I had to return the first one because it had a problem connecting to the Wi-Fi. Once I got the replacement, it's been working well. It's a little tricky to setup if you're not computer literate. It also has minimal instructions on how to use it. I had to do some research on the internet to get tips from other users on how to best use this device. Otherall though, a good product.

Nice scale that interacts directly with Fitbit App

Nice scale that fortunately or unfortunately tracks weight and % body fat over time by directly syncing to Fitbit app on iPhone, IPad with weekly email updates. We had some initial difficulty getting scale to sync with our home wireless system, but once synced has worked flawlessly since. We have had the scale for more than six months now and have not needed to replace the batteries yet.

Scale works well but sooooo particular about WiFi

    Posted .

I've had this scale for over a year now. It's reliable and the ease of having your info sent to your Fitbit account via WiFi is great. (As other users have pointed out, yes, you can manually do that, but WILL you?) However... this is assuming you can actually connect it to your home network. My original setup was challenging but it eventually worked. You have to put the scale on a hard flat surface, not less than 10 feet from your router, and after multiple tries it finally connected. Stayed that way until recently I changed my home network setup. Could not reconnect the scale. After almost an hour of "WiFi Err" messages, I finally discovered in a forum that you cannot have a special character in either your SSID or your network password. This isn't mentioned in the setup instructions or troubleshooting. So beware. Kind of defeats the purpose of a WiFi enabled scale if it won't connect. If you can connect it, it will be actually kind of fun.

    Excellent WIFI Scale EXCEPT

So I am a relatively tech-savvy person. I opened the box and followed the instructions, and for the life of me I could not get it set up. After spending about 3 hours total (multiple attempts) I decided to check out the FAQ on FitBit's website. Apparently, this only works on B wireless. This is astounding to me! I understand if they want it to be compatible with the majority of people's routers, but they could at least make it G, and then denote that on the box, or somewhere in the setup instructions. I had my router set to N-only so that it would work faster. Now, because of this device, I have it set to everything. Also... I outweigh my fiance by a good 50 pounds +, so I didn't look into the selection process. When I weighed myself for the second time, it asked if it was me or her, and I didn't know how to select, so now I have to fix that in her account. It was easy "inviting" her to join it, and it is neat that it supports up to 8 users. I also really like how it looks, much better than the old white plastic scale it replaced.

Does not work well with multiple users

This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

I had nothing but problems using this scale with multiple users. I am an avid FitBit user and thought the Aria scale would be a great tool in achieving my fitness goals. From the start, it would not recognize the difference between me and my wife. After going to the Aria support website multiple times and following the tips, it still could not differentiate two users even though I am more 50 pounds heavier than my wife. There were other times that it wouldn't recognize me at all and record me as a "Guest" user. I have since returned the scale since I can manually track my weight through the FitBit app and my old scale and save $130...

    Restricted password specification, period!

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

After a day of trying to get it to join my network, and a long call to support, it turns out you can't have a <period> in your wireless password as I did. I have 25 wireless devices in my home, all connect to my network, but not the Fitbit Aria Scale, because it only allows A-Z, 0-9 in the router password. Reprogram my two routers and 25 wireless devices for my two routers, or select another wireless scale that doesn't have restrictive password criteria? Any other character that is not a letter or number is also not allowed.
