Good luck with wifi connection!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Buyer beware. This scale will only connect to a 802.11b wifi network. People with older routers aren't having an issue with connecting but those of us with newer 802.11n routers are out of luck. I tried everything Fitbit suggested on their tips for setting it up and no luck. Even for those who are able to connect, if you buy a newer router model to have faster internet you will most likely not be able to use the scale anymore or will be forced to accept the slower 802.11b speeds. Fitbit should pull this product off the market until they can update it to run on modern equipment. It also needs Bluetooth 4.0 so it can connect to smartphones and tablets without the need for wifi. I took this scale back and ordered the Withings Smart Body Analyzer which works on modern wifi networks and has Bluetooth 4.0.

Tough add on a modern network
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. After multiple attempts and contact with Fitbit support I still can't connect the device. My other Fitbit devices were a breeze to connect and sync. Unless Fitbit comes up with a last minute save, it will be going back to the store.

Low precision scale. You can't move it.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The scale is suppose to measure your weight and calculate your body fat percentage. Unfortunately, it will give a different reading every time you step on it. The manufacturer claims that the scale recalibrates each time, but if the readings vary so greatly, how can you tell which reading is correct? The differences will vary by 3-4lbs each reading. I do not recommend. I wish I had returned it.

DO NOT BUY
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I'm posting to help all of you and warn you that you should absolutely NOT buy the Fitbit Aria scale. At first the scale seemed to work, though the body fat measurements are an absolute joke and the weight measurements an inaccurate by +/- 1.5 pounds. But in general I was ok with that because it seemed to be a convenient way to track my weight. Well cut to the present and the scale's error margin is now +/- 3-4 pounds! It makes it impossible to track weight in any useful way. I'll step on and weigh 136. Then 5 minutes later I'll weigh again and it's 139. Then again and it's 133. After speaking with technical support I learned that they only cover the scale for one year. After that there's nothing. No repair. No replacement. Nothing. Furthermore, through this research I was startled to discover that there are actually thousands and thousands and thousands of people who purchased scales that stopped working! In fact, I'm wondering what the percentage is of people who actually have working scales at all. Seriously just do not waster your money with this product. I'm sure you're reading through the Amazon reviews and thinking that this is just one person's bad experience and surely it will be fine for you. But do yourself a favor and look beyond the Amazon reviews. Check the support boards and other web pages and you will find a ridiculous number of people complaining about their $100 paper weights.

Not worth the money
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The batteries in the device were dead when I opened it. I added new batteries and it didn't read them very well. Sometimes it came on sometimes it didn't. I think the battery holder was defective. Could not get to join my network because it would not stay on long enough and was not seen. It is a great idea but I think the company needs to do some more fine tuning. Did not get another one. Returned this one because it didn't work.

Good while it lasted
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I loved the scale...until it started lighting up on it's own. The scale would light up the bathroom at random times during the night (kinda creepy) and I don't even know how many times during the day. I thought it just needed batteries and a reset, but all it did was waste the new batteries. Had it for 2 yrs. (Started acting up after extended warranty expired)

TERRIBLE!!!!!!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I normally don't write reviews but I have to for this product!! Please, do not purchase this scale. Even on sale, its not worth the money and wasted time. I bought this today from Best Buy because I have a Fitbit and wanted to track my weight. I unwrapped it from the box and began setup. I cannot setup my aria scale!! First, I tried setting it up via my iPhone. I did what it asked me, I took the tag from the back and selected "Aria" under wifi... then it asked me to connect to my wireless network, which I did. That's when I began to have problems. After inputting my wifi password, it kept saying "network not detected". Then to restart your aria scale you have to take a battery from the back out, wait then put the battery back in and wait for the lights to come on. I did this and then less than a minute later my Aria scale would SHUT OFF!!! Then my setup said please restart your aria... I tried from my laptop, same problem. I realized as i took the batteries out that the batteries were wiggling. It's made out of plastic and the batteries don't stay in place very good. Please don't waste your money! I should've purchased the Withering scale

Over-rated Scale
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was excited to purchase the Aria but was disappointed when I first used it. I don't like having to go to the Fitbit web page to find my uploaded data. I was hoping it would sinc directly with my watch and I could see the numbers on my App. I returned it and purchased a scale that does the exact same for 100 cheaper.

NOT ACCURATE
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I needed a new scale to help keep "accurate" results of my weight loss. I figured since I love my Fitbit that I would also love the Aria scale but sadly did not. I will say I didn't have too much trouble with the initial set up, was easy enough. The thing I did have trouble with is the inconsistent weight readings. Never once did the scale tell me I weighed the same number twice in a row! I could weigh myself ten times in a row and they would all be different (up to 1 lb. give or take). Tried several different rooms in my house to use it in thinking maybe it was the floor. For the price of this scale I couldn't believe it and returned it. I love the concept of the Aria scale but personally didn't find it accurate enough. Also, I did find that you had to stand on the scale for what seemed like forever to get it to save and sync. I must add that Best Buy was amazing with the return, didn't even question it. All in all don't waste your time with this scale. I found one for half the price and it is giving me consistent readings time after time.

Very nice but equally inaccurate
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This scale was a breeze to setup as long as you understand that it only supports 802.11b networks. Adding users was equally easy. The scale could quickly determine who was who and also uploaded my data without issue. The biggest problem I ran into was accuracy. Most posts I've read discuss the fat percentage which, as any educated person, will always be off because Bioelectrical Impedance Analysis provides different results based on a variety of factors such as hydration. What I found is that the weight was not accurate between weigh-ins. For example, over a 10 minutes period I weighed myself 10 times. Without change in fluids or clothing, I almost never got the same weight twice. Between the high and low, I was about 2.5 pounds off. I pulled out my old Conair WW78 scale and weighted myself several times during this period and always returned the same value each time I stepped on the scale. I'm sure this has something to do with the Aria being very sensitive to the way one balances themselves on the scale but my cheaper scale has no such problem. I'm a bit frustrated that my $100 cheaper scale provides much better results and does all but wifi uploads. Needless to say, this device goes back.
