    Inaccurate--can't be exchanged or returned

Everything started out fine--relatively easy set up, nice interface, etc. However, I started to see huge variations in body fat reading (10% differences) from one day (or moment) to the next. There was a new firmware update that would not load--I don't know if that would fix the problem or not. This occurred on day 20 (5 days outside of the Best Buy return window). Everything on the box says a 45 day return policy and 1 year to replace defective products. I took it to Best Buy and they would not do anything--not even an exchange or store credit. I called FitBit and they said I should take it to Best Buy. I'm stuck with a $129 doorstop!! I told them that Best Buy would not take the return or exchange it and they said I should have bought it from them and not Best Buy. Beware.

    Do Not Buy

I only had this scale for 3 months tops. 2 weeks ago it just stopped syncing. I called Fitbit customer service 4 times to try and get the scale going again. I was told to call Comcast to change the protocol for my wifi which would be a older one. At that point everything connected to the router would be slowed down to a snails pace. After trying all that the original scale still would not connect. Fitbit finally sent out a new scale on the 4th call which I received today and it still will not sync. A waste of 130.00 which was the price I paid before the 99.00 price reduction. I am so very disappointed. NOW I have 2 scales that is no good to me now. Not worth the purchase. If you have an updated router the Aria Scale 1 will not work with that. Please research before purchasing!

Good while i moved to a different network

So this product worked very good when I was in an older 802.11b network. When I moved to the 802.11ac network. This stopped connecting and it works more like a regular bathroom scale now... Please confirm your home wifi network before purchasing this one..

    known issues

This is my second Aria. The first worked fine and died on me. It was within warranty, so I got a replacement. The replacement then worked fine for over 2 years. Then I started getting an error, which I looked up and eventually found that the error is get is very common.....sadly, not an easy fix. It appears to be a design defect, one they have known about for over 2 years going by dates people posted in the fitbit forums questions. Customer service at fitbit is useless. They give a supposed fix which seems to work for nobody, or they replace it, which I can't do since I am way out of warranty. This is not a wifi connectivity problem. It simply does not weigh you. at all. don't recommend!

    Wireless doesn't Work

    Posted .

I've been a software engineer and computer user for over 50 years, and there was no way I could get this device to connect to my home's LAN. The downloadable setup application complained that it could not detect any wireless networks, and it made the complaint while running on my laptop that was connected to the network the application said it could not find. So, Plan B. Fitbit offers a web-based setup scheme. After many many tries, the web-based scheme proclaimed success, and the text in the window of the scale also proclaimed success. However, the scale only connected once to my LAN to upload the results of a measurement. Dozens of other attempts, along with many reinitializations, did not work. So I resorted to Plan C: I returned the useless device.

    DO not wast your money!

I bought this scale despite the poor reviews regarding the WI Fi connection that is difficult to set up. I spent approximately 3 hours trying to get this scale connected to my Wi Fi with no luck. I tried every method Fitbit offered and failed. In fact, this process messed up my whole network and I had to power down my computers and reset my wireless network. So...I emailed Fitbit because this is the ONLY mode of communication and I finally heard back from them 3 days later. Fitbit's advice would have required about 3+ more hours of my life and I decided that Fitbit's equipment problem should equate to hours lost on my part!!! Therefore I returned this useless item! I will be looking into purchasing a different brand with better ratings.

    Bad scale

This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

First of all, it took me forever to set it up. It turned out that it didn't like how my Wifi SSID had a non-alphanumeric character, and there's no error message whatsoever to help me troubleshoot it. After I changed my Wifi SSID and got it set up, it kept on showing "ERR" instead of telling me my weight. I did some research online and found that many people have exactly the same issue (see: http://mingersoft.com/blog/2012/05/fitbit-aria-wi-fi-smart-scale-and-the-cold/). I tried everything but the problem still persist. I'm returning this junk.

Highly inaccurate; difficult to set up

It took five hours of troubleshooting to get it set up. Once we got it set up, I used it for 3 days. On the third day my weight measurement was 8 pounds different from the prior day. I always weigh first thing in the morning, before eating or drinking anything. I re-weighed myself multiple times and continued to get different weight measurements varying a total of 8 pounds. I'm going to try to return it today, but after reading the other reviews I'm guessing I just wasted $130. Very disappointing. Do not buy.

Best Buy Return Policy is S#!t Dont Buy

Bought the scale online and had it delivered. Opened it and set it up and it didn't work. I guess I waited to long to return it to the store and it was past 15 days and couldn't return it. I think Best Buy's return policy sucks! If I was an elite member I could have waited 30 days. I will never purchase anything from Best Buy again. Guess I will be using Amazon which has a 30 day return policy. 15 day....really. Thanks Best Buy! Buyer beware!!

I just spent a fun 3 hours wasting my time trying to get this scale to synch to fitbit. I must have tried 30 times. I bought this scale a couple of years ago and the same thing happened. Bad reviews are all over the internet. Total junk.

it hasn't been a year and there's a problem with the scale. in 6 months the scale sarted reading err and it turns out to be a very common issue with the Aria. As much as I loved my aria, I am very disappointed to how long this scale lasted.
