This is an upgrade for me. I had an old Charge HR and it was starting to die. I like the greater number of features, especially the hourly reminder to get moving. I find that motivates me more. Also tells me how many steps this hour. I like that. I do use my Fitbit as an alarm clock of sorts, so am sad that the vibration is lighter than my old Charge HR. It's not great at waking me. I also don't like that the charger is yet again some device only compatible with Fitbit and is kind of bulky. It is better at securing the device during charging though. I find the design and comfort of this model to be much better and more user friendly than the previous model.

This is an upgrade from one the person had before. Christmas gift. They love it. It tells u know how lazy, lol, u have been and lets u know who is calling and what texts are coming in. U can answer right away or wait till better time.

I upgrade from a Charge to HR to the Charge 2. I love the larger display and new features. I use it mainly to track step, exercise and sleep patterns.

I got the Fitbit Charge 2 because it appears to be more substantial than the other brand I used on which the band snapped after about 10 months. So far, the tracker has operated well. My only complaints are that it doesn't provide email notifications and the display does not always light up when looked at.

Best purchase I have made for keeping track of anything fitness. I use it for running, keeping track of how any steps during the day, calorie counting and how many calories burned. It literally keeps track if everything! Elliptical, running, biking, walking, weights, heart rate, and workout! You can't go wrong with the Fit bit charge 2. Another thing I love about it is no batteries you just charge it, and you can change the band. I like the black band that came with it but I just bought a nice silver band to wear to the office. Great motivational tool!

If you don't need water resistance and GPS, the Fitbit Charge 2 is the best, affordable fitness tracker in my opinion. I love the jolts it gives me 10 minutes before every hour when I have stepped at least 250 steps. It also gives you several different encouraging messages. I love that when I'm at the gym, and not carrying my phone, and someone calls or texts me it jolts my wrist so I can see if it's important and choose to walk over to where my phone is and respond. The battery lasts for over 4 days before I need to charge it!

Love the new sleep tracking features. Keep track of my steps, sleep, HR. Helping me reach my goals. Like that you can get text messages on it.

I wanted an activity tracker that had a battery life greater than 48 hours and the Charge 2 seems to last almost 5 days! I also wanted a device that that I could wear comfortably in my sleep which the Charge 2 handles nicely. Replaced the band with a metal bracelet as I can not wear a silicone band.

He needed a heart rate monitor and something to let him know he got a text, he just needed the simple functions. He counts his steps as well.

Keeps accurate heart rate, is lightweight. Like feature when you turn you arm up, the display comes on to show the time. Also long battery life between charging. Keeps steps and calories burn

Better than I was hoping for. It has been a real motivator for my workouts. Less likely to slack off if you know it's being recorded. I've only been able to maintain a workout regime if I write it down. This automates the process and gives you a nice record complete with charts and graphs, etc.Also works much better than chest strap I used to use for heart rate monitoring. Only wish I had known the Charge 3 was about to come out that added waterproofing and gorilla glass and a bit better "screen".

This is exactly what I need to monitor my physical activity to get points for my Health Insurance. I just hope it lasts longer than the Fitbit my wife bought last year. Hers broke after less than a year. The battery just died.Hers was an older model though so I hope they have improved it on mine.

This really does what it says. Steps, heartbeat, etc... Love the fact that I can buy different bands for it. Also like the reminders to get moving. Definitely recommend this for someone wanting to lose weight and get healthier.

This is great if you’re looking for a watch, step counter, hr monitor, sleep monitor all in one. Battery life is about 5 days. You have to make sure the charger gets on properly to charge it. Shows calls and text messages too.

My original FitBit served its time and wore out. When I saw the price drop I jumed on it and bought a second FitBit for my daughter for Christmas.This product has great features, an easy to use app, and helps us stay active.

I love my Fitbit. I wish it was water resistant that way I wouldn’t have to take off when taking a shower. Be mindful about the size, I was just there between large and smal, ended up getting a large but I think is too big.

I have tried quite a number of fitness trackers from the original Fitbit to the Samsung smart watch and even an Apple Watch. My favorite by far is the Fitbit charge 2. It’s quite an advanced piece of equipment that monitors heart rate, steps, calories, speed and even your gps route. It tracks sleep as well, but I haven’t really used it because I don’t like to sleep with anything on my wrists. Considering the price range of the other smart watches out there (especially Apple Watch), this is well worth the money.

This is the third Fitbit I have owned. When I lost my Alta somewhere on Salinas River State Beach (shedding a sweatshirt), I decided to go with the Charge 2 and see what the Heart Rate monitor was all about (plus, it "buckles" to your wrists). Overall, it is a great product and I am very happy. The only downside of upgrading was battery life. The Charge 2 battery needs to be charged about twice as frequently as the Alta. I'm sure this is because of all the additional features. Still, totally worth it!

I already have the fitbit ULTA - got the Charge 2 for my husband since he likes mine so much! The Charge 2 looks more 'manly'! Love the fitbit products! You can sync them to IPhone, PC etc - they are great and easy to use!

TLDR summary: Definitely worth buying the new gen 2 charge hr if your gen 1 tracker has been destroyed or if you're a new adopter to the Charge HR model. Probably not worth the cost of upgrade if you have a functioning gen 1 band that isn't on its last leg. From a tracking accuracy point-of-view there seems to be little difference in the data reported by both the gen 1 and gen 2 models. I compared a month from each device that were comparable in activity level and didn't notice anything significant. Those with gen 1 models on their last leg trying to decide to between upgrading or repurchasing will find below why I recommend the gen 2 model after putting some use on it. With my gen 1 charge hr falling apart to the point it was unusable, I went a couple of a weeks without the ability to track my activity and decided I needed to have that level of insight again. Both the gen 1 and gen 2 models were up for consideration, but I ultimately decided against repurchasing a gen 1 and instead upgraded to the gen 2. I have been very pleased with my decision. The top 2 benefits of the Gen 2 for me have been the ability to remove/replace/swap the wrist straps, and the ability to push text notifications and display their content. Now that I can swap bands as necessary I don't need to worry about destroying them when they are exposed to heavy use. Clasps and strap keepers deteriorated over time making the Gen 1 unwearable and the only way to fix it was purchasing an entirely new tracker. Additionally, removal of the charging cable over a prolonged period caused damage to the charger port and the parts surrounding it. The Gen 2 does not suffer from these design issues, making it likely to last much longer under consistent heavy use than the Gen 1 could. The actual tracker device isn't that large and uses a unibody frame to reduce the amount of parts at risk to damage by external exposure. However, its larger display area increases the risk of screen scratches, but can easily be avoided by applying any one of the numerous screen shields specifically cut for the charge hr 2's screen. Additionally, the charger cable no longer physically locks into the charger port removing the potential for damage by caused repeatedly removing the device from the cable.
