The Fitbit charge 2 is pretty accurate on monitoring heart rate and sleep pattern. However, it does not seem to be as accurate on climbing. It does motivate you to move so that's good.

I had one of the first Fitbits that just eventually died. I decided to upgrade to the Charge 2 because of all the features my old one didn't have. The watch feature Is handy when I don't have my phone on me. I love the blood pressure monitor which is one of the main reasons I decided to upgrade. It seems accurate as far as I can tell. The only thing that I would change about the tracker would be for it to be waterproof. This is not a huge deal for me but it would be an added plus. Very pleased!

I purchased this for my fiancée who lost a Garmin vivosmart HR. The fit of the device is comfortable. It is stylish and you can change bands if you like. The features of the device are nice. It tracks your steps, heart rate and other activities. It will also give you notifications for calls and text messages. The alerts do not last long however. If this is in your price range and desired size, give it a try. I hope this helps.

    Best gadget in years

This is my first fitness gadget and I must say, it's the best thing I've bought for myself in years. We are having a lot of fun at work with the weekly challenges (we have even started a weekly pot $ to make things interesting). It has helped with all of my fitness goals from eating, staying active -- and it has even has helped with my problem area - much needed sleep. I knew my lack of sleep was a problem but I never new until I saw the tracking results how little sleep I actually was getting. Now I have a little reminder that tells me it's time to start winding down - and a very gentle vibration that tells me when to get up. It's so much better than an irritating audio alarm. I am more active, eating better, drinking more water (yes the app also tracks your water for the day) and sleeping more!! I think it is well worth the money - I have used it every single day since I bought it (6 weeks ago). I knew my job was stressful but actually seeing my heart rate go up when I get to work and go down when I leave - has enabled me to pinpoint some of the manageable stressors and make some changes. This thing is absolutely life changing!

It counts steps through out the day, how the nights sleep went etc. It does a great assessment of the days activities.

Let me start off with the two features that are listed as major CONS for this device. It is not waterproof and it has no built-in GPS. At first I was a little disappointed that I could not wear this device while swimming and I nearly got a more expensive model. Then, while researching, I found out that the waterproof watches cannot adequately track your heart rate while submerged so, the functionality is not there anyway. The built-in GPS is the only real con in my opinion. For my runs that are not on a treadmill, I would like to track the distance and average pace without needing to carry my phone. That being said, if you typically carry your GPS capable phone anyway, there is no issue as you can sync that to the watch and track the run. PROS for me have been: Awesome heart rate and sleep tracking. Built in ability to track my workouts at the gym to include weights and abs. The screen is easy to read and the device is light and comfortable. The screen will turn on when you turn your wrist up to look at it which is nice. The step counter and other motion trackers are very accurate. It is well worth every penny.

Overall, I'm happy with this unit. It's easy to set-up and operate and I love the link to the mobile app. The color is very nice and feels more like a watch rather than a fitness tracker. The reason for the 4-star review is 2 things. First, it's a bit chunkier than I would like. I have a small wrist and it's an adjustment to wear such a bulky item. I wish it had the same features but in a slim profile. The 2nd reason, is that it's not waterproof, which is a disappointment considering the cost. I like to swim and kayak, and those types of exercises can't be tracked. Since this essentially can only take into account indoor practices, I might have considered spending less money on an alternative which would offer a water resistant set-up.

Fitbit has improved significantly over charge hr. Better battery life, robust design, better tracking, simulated heart rate (if u keep the tracker in pocket, and workout, for example - I keep it in my shorts' pocket while boxing, it simulates the heart rate by sensing the activity; amazing feature). All in all I love this!

I bought this for someone for a gift, I was looking for one that had the heart rate monitor after owning one without it for about a year. Works very good. Seems accurate.

Does precisely what it is supposed to do - tracks steps, stairs (a bit less accurate there, sleep (so that is why I am so sleepy). Nice that it buzzes me to move, lets me know texts and phone calls, etc. Like the fact that I can tell it that I am working out - and what type of exercise that I am doing. Only problem is that the band isn't secure. I have lost two of these when the band came undone.

I recently had my Jawbone fall apart. I was going to Best Buy to get a replacement. Finding out that they were no longer sold there, I looked at other options. I wanted to get the Samsung Galaxy Gear Fit2. At the time of my purchase, the Gear was $30 more than the Fitbit, and had a poor battery life from reviews (3-4 days) compared to the 5+ days from the fitbit. I also wanted to get something that I could use and share with my wife when she wanted to upgrade her band (she has Iphone, so the Gear wouldn't have been a good option. Weighing that with the fact that I had one of the original Gears that failed just only 1 year after I had purchased, it was a no brainer. I included a 2 year warranty from Best Buy and I was on my way. Couldn't be happier with the purchase. The battery life is great for what I need it to do. The band stays in place with the watch-like fastening system. I also have walk/move alerts, HR monitor, and can get the basic notifications (messages/phone calls) on my wrist. A++ would recommend this band for moderate runners. I am probably purchasing one for my wife for Christmas so we can move together.
