Does Not Last After 1 Year

After this one unexpectedly failed 14 months after purchase I contacted Fitbit about replacing it. Due to their 1-year Warranty they offered me 25% off of a new device. The following was my response to them: "Thank you for your help with my device and the discount offer. I do not believe I will be purchasing another Fitbit product. This is either the 4th or 5th device i have owned and while I do enjoy the functionality and everything the Fitbit has to offer it is, in my opinion an unreliable product. The watches simply can not withstand regular wear. I do not do anything out of the ordinary with my watch. I clean it frequently and make sure not to get it wet (even though it is advertised as water-resistant). Each time I have had a Fitbit the device has failed with no prior warning, right around the one year anniversary of my purchase. Only once have i been able to get mine replaced by warranty and that watch failed again within a year. It was with great caution that I bought this last device because I was worried (and rightfully so) that it would not last. Again I enjoyed my watch, and the app and everything it did, and I am very comfortable with how Fitbit tracks and displays my metrics. But at this time I can no longer bring myself to invest anymore money in Fitbit. If there was a disclaimer that these devices wouldn’t last more than 18 months under ideal circumstances I would be more accepting of the devices failure even though that is not in anyone’s best interest. I will be ordering an Apple Watch now. Thank you again for your help."
