I had charge 2 before this and this is perfect upgrade over it. Touchscreen, splash/swim proof, payments etc are all good!

I upgraded to the FitBit Charge 3 after my Charge 2 was misplaced. It's a good alternative if you don't want to spend a ton of money on an Apple Watch or something along those lines. Personally, all I need it to do is count my steps and help track things like sleep and heart rate with the app on my phone. My only (minor) complaint is that it takes a while to sync with the app, but otherwise it's an improvement over the Charge 2.

Worked great for about 8 months, then had problems with it charging. Went and got a new charger, which worked for a whlie, then had problems with synching to phone. Bought the next version- Charge 4 - and have had no problems with it. Conclusion: if you're going to buy a Fitbit, by a Charge 4.

I’ve been using Fitbit products for, at least, 5 years and I love them! Every time they come out with a new one, I get it and they’re always updated and better! My only claim is their rubber band. It really doesn’t work well for people that have small wrists like me! And they end up by breaking. On the other hand, their polyester strap is great! So... I believe they should be sold with polyester straps and not with rubber ones.

My Charge 2 failed and I bought this to replace it. The water resist is the biggest upgrade in my view - can wear it in the pool or in the shower. The screen is easier to read and has more options via touch-sensitive pages. I have also found the charging clip to be more reliable. My Charge 2 sometimes didn't charge and I concluded that the charging clip didn't keep a solid contact with my Charge 2 and you'd never know until you picked it up still uncharged.

Good options, but steps aren't correct

I've had a Fitbit Charge before and they seemed to be correct in their calculation of steps, but the new Charge 3 is WAY OFF. It gives me far more steps than I'm taking. As a comparison, I wore my Garmin and carried my cell phone to calculate. The Fitbit gives at least 30% more steps that you're actually taking, and actually calculated steps while I was sleeping.....and I don't sleep walk (wife verified). I tried all the helps and tips online like switching wrists and changing it to dominant hand, etc. etc. Didn't work. I've owned 3 other fitbits and normally the band breaks or they just stop receiving a charge, but now it's a matter of just not calculating properly. Overall I'm disappointed with it, but mainly use it to track other things that sync with an app I'm using. The other app doesn't sync to Garmin so I'm stuck. Not sure it's worth what I paid considering it's so inaccurate, but it does have a few other features I like, so.......Meh. That's about all I can say.

I have to say I really love this device. After 2-3 months I signed up for the premium subscription, and have really enjoyed the hardware and software package. I shower with it on every day and had no issues with waterproofing. My only gripe is that sometimes the screen stays locked off, and I have to do a pretty simple reset to get it back. Minor inconvenience that happens about once a month.
