Works great as a heart rate monitor and a pedometer, but the gps is wildly inaccurate for runs. Probably will have to get a different watch for that.

Stay away from this watch! When I initially bought mine, I loved it... I thought it was the best watch ever for the first couple of months; however, I've ran into some problems... The GPS went out, and no longer works on the device. After doing some research, here's my review on the Fitbit Charge 5, and Fitbit devices as a whole: 1. They're cheaply made, and only last anywhere from a few months to a year. Do some research, and you'll learn that the average lifespan of a Fitbit device is significantly shorter than most other smart watches. You have a better chance at winning the lottery than you do having your Fitbit last more than a year. 2. Fitbit support is a nightmare to work with. They do offer a warranty in case the watch breaks down, but trying to get them to honor the warranty is like pulling the teeth out of your mouth (this has been my personal experience). You can spend hours with them, providing video and picture evidence over email, troubleshooting issues on the phone, etc. and they will still try to deny you the warranty. Do yourself a favor, and don't buy this watch so you wont have to deal with them. 3. Even if your device lasts, things on the device will start to break down. In my case, it was the GPS tracking. It's totally shot. If you ever want to track a run or walk accurately, don't even bother. The GPS within this device is terrible. I would recommend buying a Garmin watch. They last and work properly. Checkout the Garmin Forerunner 245. It's a little bit more expensive, but definitely worth the extra money. If you want to own a Fitbit, just be ready to buy 2 or 3 of them every year.

I previously had a Charge 3, which I liked except for the surprisingly dark screen which rendered it unreadable in daylight. The Charge 5 has a bright multi-color screen. It is comfortable to wear and provides a lot of useful data. Battery life can be excellent or very limited depending on the settings and how you use the device. Overall, I am very satisfied.
