    Won't work with Android 13

If I could give zero stars, I would! If you have an Android phone with Android 13, don't bother. Your Fitbit is useless. They have known about incompatibility with Android 13 for months and have failed to resolve the issue. I patiently waited until 1-20-23 because I was told the problem would be resolved with the update to the app on 1-19-23. They lied, it's not fixed. Don't waste your money. Support will doggie walk you all arould the world with troubleshooting stalling tactics. Don't do it.

    Good Band Connection

This is definitely the best Charge product I've owned. I have had a Charge 2 and a Charge 4 prior to this, both had breakage where the device attaches to the band. It seems Fitbit finally discovered a more durable connection. All three devices functioned great. I really like the color screen update as well.

    Battery Dies After One Year

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

Asked for this as a present because I really liked my previous fitbit. The product itself worked fine for about 14 months (conveniently outside the 1-year warranty) and then the battery decided it didn't want to hold a charge. I would charge it to 100% and within an hour it was down to 20-30%! My previous fitbit lasted me a few years with zero issues, so this was incredibly disappointing.

    Terrible customer service

Bricked, stuck on an irrecoverable boot loop. It happened just after their warranty expired. After some research, this is a very common problem, but the company refuses to acknowledge their blunder.

    Useless and terrible battery

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

This device barely supports any apps, much less than previous fitbits, and the battery is terrible. Often, I got a warning that I need to charge the batter in the middle of the night, and a couple hours later it already ran out of juice. For this reason, definitely don't use this as an alarm. The mobile app is okay, but the whole social experience and gamification is really disappointing, missed potential. The device and subscription are both a waste of money IMO.

    Happy So Far!

My FitBit Charge 3 finally died so I decided to get the Charge 5 and am very happy. I think the Charge 3 I had had a defective battery that wouldn't hold a charge. The Charge 5 has a different system and seems to work well. I also like the style of the 5 better than my 3.

Low quality, only lasts a year

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

This fitbit was good until right after the warranty expired, then it very suddenly started to die quickly. This has been a common problem for people with this watch. It would also just shut off by itself even if it had a charge. The only way to get it back on is to charge it. If you're wanting a high quality watch that will last you, do not get this watch.

    Finicky, inconsistent, inaccurate, poor interface

A waste. My charge 4 was better. Going back. The clock faces are childish and do not allow customization. The activity/step counting is inaccurate (compared to charge 4, luxe, inspire 2). The sleep tracking is intermittent at best. The readiness score doesn't work more often than it does (again comparing to Inspire 2 and Luxe). The only way to get to all settings is the finicky, non-responsive swipe screen. Very disappointed. Have retired this to a drawer.

Won't monitor heart or sleep. Have been back and forth with Fitbit trying to resolve issue for over a week. All they offer is "restart the Fitbit and reinstall on app". Still no resolution. This is a $200 paperweight. I bought this because I liked the style and FitBit has a good reputation. Save your money, don't buy this.

    Great screen but that’s all

Does not give a consistent heart rate reading. I returned one thinking that I just had a dud but the second was only marginally better. At least half the time when looking at my wrist I got a blank where there should have been a reading. It also only tracked sleep a couple of tomes in a week. This was my third Fitbit with heart rate so I know how it should be worn and how it should work. Negative points also for no altimeter.

    Back to Back Failure

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

I bought a Fitbit Charge 5 after replacing my Fitbit Ionic due to the recall. My first one failed after 6 months or so. Fitbit RMA'd it through warranty. My second one failed after a month. Really sorry to see these failing. I have no irregular use or anything of that nature. Really unfortunate. I hope they do better with the next round of Charges, always a fan of the design.

Loved it. Then it died. I think it was swimming in the pool for a couple days. Got a new one on warranty! Went mountain biking. Screen is blank and cant get it back. These problems seem to be widespread when i read various reviews. Ill contact customer service and see if i can get another one. Obviously this product is inferior for people who exercise. But thats the point, yes?

I totally enjoy my FitbitCharge five more so than my charge four. The band is more comfortable the charging set up is much easier the only thing I do not care for as much is the screen is not as sensitive as the charge for was

    Not an upgrade

I'm disappointed in the Charge 5. I had a charge 3 that died so I decided to upgrade. I think Fitbit has downgraded this tracker. It has a band that is CHEAP and is too sensitive to get many readings every day. I would avoid this tracker!

    Unreliable watch

My daughter gifted me this watch with lots of affection. She had purchased this in the month of November 2022. It worked well for six months. Now no display, nothing. No service centre available in India. Total waste. Don't know what to do.

Battery is good until 6 months

The device is really nice looking and I like the app too. The major downside is the battery. After 7 months of use the battery drains so fast. Fully charge in the morning fully drained by 4pm. It's unusable. You can also check out the Fitbit community comments for Charge 5 in it's website so see the same battery issue comments. I've reached out to the customer service and did all the steps they told me - such as clean with alcohol, restart, turn-off the gps as well as notifications but didn't solve the problem. I told them I want to return the unit since it's within warranty period. They said they will get back to me. After several emails to them for several weeks now, Only answer I get is NO update it.

I purchased this item in December of 2021. Everything was five stars until they just released a firmware update. Look at the Fitbit Charge 5 forums to see all of the complaints about battery life being less than a day and other problems.

    Fitbit has never gotten better

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

Don't even have to buy it to know it's useless. I have had fitbit several times. heartrate is a joke. Never steady when performing exercises. Does not keep pace with the vigorousness of any workout. ALL fitbits are like this. Lousy setup processes. Slow, archaic software. Fitbit has never made appropriate changes to be better nor competitive.
