I replaced my Charge 5 with the Charge 6. I need to check my heart rate while I'm exercising. This was never a problem with the 5 but the 6 only shows 2 dashes where the heart rate is supposed to be over 50% of the time. Also, there is a known problem with the Oxygen app. It is installed, but in the morning, when it is supposed to show my average overnight oxygen level, it says I need to install the app to use the feature

Hi there, Kenneth. We hear your concerns regarding inconsistent heart rate tracking on the Charge 6 — we get how frustrating this is. Heart rate tracking accuracy is affected by your personal physiology, device placement on your arm, and the activity you're doing. Here’s a few tips to get better readings:

      1. Wear your Fitbit device on top of your wrist with the back in contact with your skin. When not exercising, position it a finger's width above your wrist bone.
      2. During exercise, wear it slightly tighter and higher for a snug fit that doesn't restrict blood flow, as this can affect the heart rate signal.
      3. Frequent wrist bending during activities can also interfere with the signal if the watch is worn too low.

Regarding not getting SpO2 data, there could be a few things impacting the readings:

      1. Turning off any SpO2 clock face or app permissions can cause the feature to stop functioning.
      2. You must get at least 3 hours of quality sleep. Data is only collected when you’re still. If you move a lot during your sleep or the sleep session is too short, you might not get SpO2 data.
      3. Charge your Fitbit device to make sure it’s able to collect data throughout your entire sleep session. Note that you may have to charge your Fitbit device more often when using an SpO2 clock face or app.

I'm very discouraged with this new Fitbit Charge 6. I am having a problem getting the information I need and now FitBit is telling me I cannot get it because it is Google's problem. I am being told that the last update Google did eliminated some of the features of the FitBit. Please keep in mind I have an Apple I-phone 13 Pro Max. I don't see what Google has to do with it. I can't return it to Best Buy as it is outside of their 18 day return policy and FitBit won't replace or give me a return because they say it is Google's problem not theirs. I paid $160 and want a watch that works! I never had a problem with my FitBit 3 other than the battery finally saying it had had enough and decided to not hold a charge anymore.

Tracks your steps will however the function to track distance is not working and it’s a known issue with Fitbit and does not resolve yet. I preferred my charge 5 to this model.

Google doesn’t stand by their Fitbit products anymore. Do yourself a favor and switch to Garmin. My Charge 6 died unexpectedly and for no reason 1 year and less than 1 month after purchase. Spoke multiple times to Google support chat and the best they could offer was 30% off a replacement. Meanwhile we had to return my wife’s Fitbit sense 2 back in August and we’re issues a refurb after that watch unexpectedly died. Fitbit products aren’t made to last anymore unfortunately. I’m a loyal customer no more as they seemingly transition away from Fitbit and market the pixel watch instead. Again do yourself a favor and consider a garmin. They’re all on sale currently.

Hi there, NelsonF. Sorry the Charge 6 wasn’t quite what you were expecting. That said, comfort is important so you may need to change bands to fit your needs — here’s how:

      1. Turn over your tracker and find the band latches.
      2. To release the latch, use your fingernail to press the flat button toward the band.
      3. Gently pull the band away from the tracker to release it.
      4. Repeat on the other side.
      5. To attach a band, press it into the end of the tracker until you hear a click and it snaps into place. The band with the buckle attaches to the top of the tracker.
