Defective
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It did not work right. The distance and calories were way off so I returned it. On 3 different 3 mile walks in comparison to my husbands Fitbit which is gps the distance was off by over an 1/8 of a mile each time and on all 3 of those walks each time it said I burned somewhere between 2500 & 3000 calories, impossible as I am not that fast of a walker do to a bad knee.

Functions as advertised
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I find that this tracker monitors my heart rate very precisely. The HR function allows me to better monitor the calories burned and therefore what I need to lose, gain or maintain weight. The sleep tracker gives a general idea of sleep. I have read other critical reviews of the sleep function. The cost is $150, don't expect the detailed and precise data that a sleep study will provide each night. What the Charge HR does is makes me more aware of my overall health and behaviors to better my health. I focus on bedtime routines like relaxation, drinking warm milk, bedroom environment, etc.. I am more aware of caloric intake and exercise that burns calories. I am aware of my hydration needs. Overall, I am very pleased with this purchase.

Terrible
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Says continuous heart rate - doesn't say IF you press a button. Try running at 4 mph on a treadmill at an incline and press a button. Readings are NOT accurate. Doesn't come close to Fitbit 1. Heart monitor totally off when compared to a strap heart monitor. Support said adjust wrist position. That does not increase the accuracy. Very disappointing.

Fitbit Charge HR
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was lucky enough to be some of the few people who received the Fitbit Charge HR prior to it's scheduled release. This year wearable technology has been the craze. I've been using the Fitbit Flex because our hospital was providing a subsidy to help the employees get fit. Now the Flex is not the best wearable. I currently have the Pebble, Moto 360 and I've used the Samsung Gear Live and Basis. The Flex by far is the most convenient one to use. But the Flex does have it's limitations and issues with the battery. So when the Charge HR was announced, I was extremely excited to see what it can provide. Compared to the Flex, it is twice the thickness and the strap is now a buckle. So far I've been impressed with the results of the Charge HR. I'll list the pros and cons. Pros: Auto Sleep Log: Much more convenient than having to start and stop on the Flex. I don't always fall asleep when I logged it with the Flex so having the Charge HR start it when I actually fall asleep is great. Logging Exercise: I love the ability to log each workout session. With the Flex I felt that my strength training sessions were lost because they weren't constant hand swinging movements. I can also better track how long my workout sessions were. This leads into my next pro. HR Monitor: The HR Monitor is a constant and checks your resting heart rate vs when you are active. This is great for calculating your caloric burn and if you want to see where your fat burning zone is. I think this provides a great tool to track your workouts more accurately. Stair Counter: This is a great motivator to take the stairs. I was taking the stairs with the Flex but it didn't capture that accurately. I go up 6 flights of stairs to my office at least 3 times a day and would like credit for that. Caller ID: This is a good function to have but for me it's not a deal breaker. But if you are like me and keep your phone on silent, it is always good to have something on your hand vibrate when you get a call. It takes a second or so to get the notification, but it's useful to have. Now for the Cons or areas of improvement. Cons: The buckle on the strap feels cheap. It's suppose to be surgical steel but feels more like hard plastic. Having to put the Charge HR an inch above the wrist can be annoying. I think it would be a little better to have the heart rate monitor on the underside of the wrist where you would feel your pulse. The best thing that Fitbit can do is to have a better charging mechanism. If they can allow it's devices to wirelessly charge, that would be great. That would be a huge plus because you don't have to mess with plugs. Just place it on the plate and let it charge. This a great feature with the Moto 360 and makes it so much easier to have multiple charging plates at home, in the office and in my travel bag. The last thing that I would expect from Fitibit is a better instruction manual. With the new added features of the Charge HR, I would like to maximize the use. Luckily I was able to figure things out quickly, but for the people who are not as tech savy might get frustrated trying to go through the functions. Of course the app is great and it's even better that it syncs with MyFitnessPal. Overall I think the Charge HR is a great step up from the Flex and sits on the same level as other advanced wearables. I think it's worth the investment and would be a great gift for someone who plans to get into shape. I'm a strong believer that you need to track in order to get the results that you want. For the average person; If you don't know what you did today, you won't be able to progress tomorrow. With a proper diet, Fitbit has helped me lose 30 lbs in 11 weeks. Seeing what my results was a great motivator. The weight was not water weight but actual fat. From a 1 keg ab to 6 pack abs, it's worth every penny.

Fitbit Charge HR versus Polar A300
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I kept Polar A300 for 10 days and returned it to get a Fitbit HR Charge Pros for Polar: 1. the watchface gives lots of information at once (time, heart rate etc.) the heart reate monitor is accurate since it goes around chest. (The fitbit Charge HR I replaced it with has a tiny screen and you need to push a button multiple times to get heart rate. time, and other statisticis (Fitbit also has the Surge model that has a full watch face but it is much more expensive than this Polar HR watch.). 2. Polar watch and chest strap are waterproof--which i really appreciate and lack of waterproofing on the fitbit is a big disadvantage to me. Cons for Polar: 1. To get Polar heart rate all the time (necessary for accurate calorie counting) you need to wear the chest strap. In warm (upper 70's) weather, wearing chest strap all the time gave me a rash and I had to move it up and down on to spread the rash out so it didn't get too bad. 2. I had trouble syncing with the phone app 3. I already have a Peeble smart watch (also bought from Best Buy) that I love because it gives me vibrations and informatiion on the screen for call, calendar appointments and text messages. I think this Polar watch gives at most (if at any) notification of cell calls and .without vibration (but maybe I didn't learn how to do it. )I didn't want to wear two watches so I returned the polar. I replacde this product with a fitbit charge HR sfor the following reasons 1. I didn't need to wear the chest strap since fitbit HR does heart rate on the wrist. 2. Thie fitbit charge HR is much smaller than the Polar watch so it dioesn't look so funny to wear it in addition to my Peeblle smart watch. 3. Synching to phone app was much easie for Fibit Charge Hrr than for Polar app. I reccommend buying this Polar from Best Buy or other store rather than online, because there can be issues with getting the Polar synced with computer and phone, which is essential to made effective use of the watch.. The Best Buy staff helped me. Fitbit was easier to set up the syncing on computer and phone.

Not happy with it
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Fitbit was misrepresented by the sales person. He told me on the cheaper ones it counts steps just by the shake of you arm. But the expensive ones are not like that. So in the end I paid more for somethings I didn't need. I don't feel this is the Fitbit fault but a sales person that had no idea about the product being sold.

Best heart rate monitor
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have an 8-inch circumference wrist. The large fits my wrist using the 5th of 11 holes. To make the Fitbit sit flat an inch above the wrist bump, I wear it with the screen facing from the inside of the wrist. I've worn chest straps, two-finger wrist watch heart monitors, the original ePulse and the latest ePulse. This FitBil HR is as accurate or more accurate than I've known. I don't do running or jumping exercises, so I don't meet problems with readings. The Dashboard makes it easier to see heart rate results than a cardiologist or MD have ever told me. The Dashboard shows a running graph of the heart rate though the day and tracks sleep hours, even with breaks at night. I've tracked ordinary household duty activity calorie intake food vs output for the 3 days I've used it. It is very comfortable, less noticeable than wristwatches or ePulse, even while sleeping. The FitBit HR is worn loose enough to see the light through my skin at the sides in the dark, The ability to tap to see my heart rate and lift the wrist to see the time makes all very easy. As a computer savvy, it was easy to set up on my Android 4.4.4 Motorola bluetooth and on Windows 10. I can now keep track of food intake to plan weight on the Dashboard. My phone and FitBit HR have needed charging once when I started over the 3 days and show half charge now.

Excellent Tool
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Excellnt tool for tracking your activity and motivate improvement. I have found my self at 9500 steps near the end of the day and walked around the house until I hit 10,000. I started walking/running after buying it and my resting heart rate went from 71 to 68 in a month. I just charge when in the shower and it keeps me at half charge or higher. It is comfortable, even to sleep in. I love the sleep tracker data. The only problem is phantom steps when driving my RV. It bounces a bit and requires some sawing on the wheel so it registers as steps. I hit 30,000 on a 4 hour drive.

Everything I needed...and more.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.2 weeks after I bought the FitBit HR-Charge...enough time to honestly provide a rating/review: Very happy with the purchase. While not EXACTLY accurate on step-count & HR (do you REALLY need the exact count?), this product does what I need it to do: Monitor and encourage my activity--syncs great with my phone (LOVE the Caller ID & vibrate call notification) and PC (via dongle, provided). Dashboard reports are very graphical and customizable...tracking what I need to track. Bonus benefits--Sleep monitor is interesting and accurate...I think. :-) It identifies restlessness versus awake. Tallies 'restful sleep' hours each night. The wake-up alarm (vibration) does the trick...quietly, without waking the person next to you. The HR monitor uses your age to display if your rate is above/within/below your cardio-zone...handy. Highly recommend the product.
