I love the fitbit charge HR. I had the charge and decided to upgrade. It is not 100% accurate all the time but it does the job. I bought one for my son and plan to eventually upgrade to the surge (when it is on sale of course) My only issue is the battery life. I have to charge it about twice a week. I use it for alarm in the morning and reminders throughout the day, and the caller ID feature which I can only guess uses more battery life. Otherwise I love it!

Works Very Well - I have SVT

I read all kinds of reviews about the Fitbit Charge HR, on Best Buy and other sites, before making a purchase. I even spoke with a friend who had one and used hers for a bit to see how it worked. Here's the breakdown, Heart Rate Research Most articles, reviews and even my friend complained about the accuracy of the heart rate, and how finicky the tracker was about registering heart rates. You have to have in an exact spot on the wrist, and so on. I even spent time helping my friend get hers in the right placement. One article even mentioned that the technology these items use is fallible, shouldn't be used for medical purposes, and you needed a chest strap for the best reading. Heart Rate Results Well all my research and concerns were alleviated within 1 day. My skin and the Fitbit Charge HR got along just fine. I can wear it almost anyway I want and get a reading - and an accurate one! (I'm comparing the readout to an app my cardiologist recommended) If it ever looses a signal, I shift it around for a second and it picks up almost immediately. Yesterday I had a tachycardia episode that sent my heart rate to 157, and the Fitbit Charge HR kept up without any issue. This is the main reason for my purchasing this item - to track my tachycardia episodes. I don't regret the purchase one monument! Please note that I am fair skinned, with yellow undertones and pink overtones. This may have something to do with my success. Steps and Miles/Distance Well I'm lazy. Plain and simple! LOL! The Fitbit Charge HR defaults the daily goal to 10k steps, and my best is 5,600-ish. That feels accurate to me. Stairs My Fitbit Charge HR doesn't seem to understand what a flight of stairs is... I'll climb two flights and it will say 0. I'll dive in to work and it will add 2 flights. LOL I'm not sure how that last one is possible, but my Fitbit said I did this. The default goal is 10 flights of stairs, which is no issue for me, since it's 1 flight from the garage to the main level of my house, and another flight to the bedrooms. At minimum I'm climbing 5 flights a day, and I peaked at 13 (18 according to the Fitbit) one day. Calories Burned This measurement is based off exercise and movement that it can calculate, which is limited. It doesn't know when you're standing or jogging, which burns more than normal walking. I'm sure it would work better if I tried harder, but I've only had this for 2 weeks. Sleep Tracking The Fitbit Charge HR automatically tracks your sleep, when you wear it to bed. The default goal is 8 hours, which I thought sounded right. Each time you move during the night, it counts it as restless and says you weren't asleep. When you get up at night (bathroom), it counts it as awake, deducting from the sleep total time. Last night I thought I slept great and woke up refreshed, but the Fitbit says I only slept 6 hours 45 minutes. Another night I was so tired I couldn't function and it said I had met my 8 hour goal with 30+ mins to spare. I'd say this function is nice, but like everything in life, understand there's room for improvement. Overall Whether you're active, want to become active, or are a sloth, this is a good tool for life. It will show you (basically) where you need to improve on your "active" life. Remembering its fallible, and needs to be customized for each person. For me and my SVT, I find it a valuable tool, that allows me to instantly see how my heart rate is tracking from the minute, to day to week trending.

    Frustrated and Disappointed

I used the flex before and was looking for an upgrade to look at my HR + stairs. I bought this Charge HR last week, and charged it up fully Friday night, recharged it on Sunday and was already getting a low battery warning on Wednesday. it states it will last you 5 days, but this is not not what i was experiencing. then today, Saturday just over 1 week, the display went dead. You could still see the green flashing lights for the HR, but no monitor and it wouldn't sync anymore. I was really hoping this would be a good product that I could use to improve my fitness, but I had to go back and return it today at only 1 week old. Frustrating and disappointed. I hope they work the bugs out

    Upgraded to HR

Heart rate monitor is a great added feature over base model. Reasonably accurate so far as compared to my old Polar band with chest strap. Traditional watch style band is a welcome improvement. The small loop that manages the excess of the band has an inner catch to keep the band locked on to your wrist. Takes a little extra effort to get the band off but I guess secures the and better. No rash on my wrist. The smart phone app provides lots of advice on how to prevent rashing. So far so good. New FB model just announced, the Blaze. I'll check it out and maybe in a year or so I'll upgrade. :)

    Not the best for biking.

I was using a $20 tracker and an IPhone for tracking my bike rides. The HR doesn't interface with IBiker on my IPhone. In fact, it doesn't track my bike rides it counts my steps. If you are a walker or runner this is pretty good. If you are a biker, I don't recommend it.

    Great Fitness Tracker

I'm a little over a month in and I love this device. I wear it almost 24/7. I have had no issues with it irritating my skin like some reports, but I also make sure I keep it clean. The integration with other apps such as MyFitnessPal and MapMyFitness is nice to have. There are some important things to note: if you are doing anything other than running, you should use another app to log your fitness, rather than the "stopwatch" on the Charge. The sleep tracker is interesting to see how my sleep quality is. I also really like the vibrating alarm. I don't have to worry about waking anyone else with a loud alarm clock going off!

    Fitbit Charge HR

I bought the Fitbit Charge HR last March 17th. I am 6 feet 6 inches tall and weighed 271 pounds when I purchased my Fitbit. Now, less than 3 months later, I weigh 241 pounds! I have also dropped two pant sizes, and gone from XXL to XL in shirts. This is a great product, and I highly recommend it! I should get to my final goal of 220 pounds by September.

Very pleased with the Fitbit Charge HR. The heart rate is so much better then I thought it would be. The app and website provide great data with all aspects, especially the HR section. Great device. Enjoy

This does many things well! Good smartphone app. However, it over counted steps(I didn't know how to adjust it for my stride). If you don't do heart rate fitness training, you can't go wrong with this or the Jawbone trackers(I like the UP app better, especially for sleep monitoring in the UP3) The active heart rate monitor did not seem as accurate as the Mio optic based heart monitors(like on Garmin 225, Adidas MiCoach or Mio Fuse/Alpha) This is important if you do heart rate based training on your runs/bike

I have had mine for a week and I love it. I have read some posts on here and if you are looking for something that is always on key with your steps you will never find it. Also as for the heart rate monitor it wont always stay the same when you are sitting doing nothing, we arent robots. Your heart goes up and down I for one am very pleased with the heart rate, the calories burned, the food plan on the app everything. I have also never been so motivated to workout before and to get in shape. So I give this product 5 stars no matter what any other post says.

Fun Way to Track and Get In Shape!

I purchased the Charge HR because I was eager to track my diet and exercise. The display is simple to use and the design is understated enough to pair with office or gym clothes. It has tracked my sleep, HR (Resting and Active), flights of stairs and the app keeps me aware of calories in/out. I really love the alarm feature as well. Highly Recommended!

    Not for anyone active

I was having problems with my Knee and gained weight. Bought this 4 months ago because I was having a total knee replacement and wanted to track my activity in my recovery. Thought the HR tracking would be a great help. All I can say is DON"T SWEAT. I got on an exercise bike and after about 15 minutes I couldn't get it to come on. Dried it out for 3 days, Sinced it up again to get it started. Again and went to rehab/ Physical therapy, After I was done with the hour of torture it was gone again, would not come on. My thought is if it is an activity tracker and normal people sweat when the are active then WHY DOES IT DIE WHEN YOU SWEAT. That seams like something that Fitbit would have thought of. Worthless piece of junk, Maybe but wasted money is what I am worried about. Why would anyone want an activity tracker that dies if you get active.
