I really love my Fitbit. I love that it tracks my steps, calories burned, and even sleep times. I also like the silent alarm.

Husband and I both have an HR. We use these to log our HealthyRoads activity. He has lung cancer, so he has a pulse ox meter on him at all times, so far the HR monitor keeps up with the same readings as the Fitbit does. The only complaint we have is my Fitbit did a firmware update so I am on version 84, but his is still on version 79. I have not figured out how to get his to update.

When I first considered this, I shopped around and was actually interested in the Garmin Vivo Smart. On paper, it had all the bells and whistles, but unfortunately, it could not live up to what it said it could do. I kept it for 4 days to give it a shot, but it never came close to monitoring heart rate accurately, and I began to question other features as well. After returning it, I immediately got the FitBit, and it has been right on the money with no issues.

This Fitbit was a great purchase for my son. He uses it daily to track his steps and other health related activities. But now that the Apple Watch is out, myself, my wife, and oldest have Apple Watches so I can see us switching sides soon. For the money, the Fitbit is great, but if you are looking for more ways to track your fitness and are already in the Apple Cloud, it makes sense to switch to the Apple Watch.

    Pretty good fitness tracker

This is my first fitness tracker. I like that it has a clock on it so I don't also have to wear a watch. Seems to be a good all around device. Another great feature is the vibrating alarm clock. You don't have to wake anyone else in your house hold. The fitbit app has a ton of info. I've tried to make it do some false readings by clapping and shaking my arm and it new the difference. You really can't beat the price.

I purchased the Charge HR for me and my daughter. I love the fact I can utilize my caller ID when my phone is across the room. Steps appear accurate. I don't use the HR part but I feel it balance the device. The only thing that seperates it from a smart watch is, I wish I could read text messages but other than that, the device is perfect. If you struggling to decide between Fitbit and other devices, I would go for the Fitbit because it's the most popular. Meaning, your friends can join and y'all can have competitions. Facebook makes it easy for you to find friends with the same device. Pushing you to work harder at the gym. The battery life is decent also, long as you don't keep syncing it. You will never take steps for granted again...One more down side to it, I haven't figured it out but a lot of people I know have this issue. If you're going to switch phones, you may lose your friends and data...

Probably the best fitness tracker out there

As of May 2015, I'd say the Fitbit Charge HR is the best wearable fit tech out right now. I've had no problem with the heart rate monitor on this device, and the battery usually lasts for anywhere from 5-7 days. In addition I really like using the silent alarms every morning, they're not as jarring as my phone's alarm tone. Would highly recommend it if you're looking for something to track your physical activity, be it workouts, heart rate, or sleep.

New to fitness gadgets... Charge HR

Love my Fitbit, but wish they would make one flatter or smaller for female wrists. Feels like I am under house arrest sometimes when it gets in the way, especially when sleeping or dressing for work in the mornings and it snags on delicate clothing. Found the sleep study and heart rate information very interesting.

    Don't buy for the HRM

I liked the overall functionality and looks of the Fitbit Charge HR. It tracked my activity, how many stairs I climbed and steps I took as well as my sleep. But when it came to tracking my heart rate, especially during spin class or high impact step aerobics, it failed to perform. When compared to a Polar HRM, the Charge HR reported a heart rate up to 30 bpm less than the chest strap! So if you want an all around fitness tracker, consider Fitbit. But if you want to train using your heart rate, there are better choices out there. Fitbit did take the tracker back and gave me a full refund, which is why I gave them 3 stars.

    Prefer the Flex

After being a happy owner of a Fitbit Flex for 1 1/2 years, I lost it one day horseback riding. So I upgraded to the Charge HR. After 3 weeks of wearing it, here is what I found: Pros: 1. Display clearly tells the time when I tap it. No need to wear a watch or pull out my phone to see what time it is. 2. Tells the actual steps walked instead of dots lighting up, as well as other information (heart rate, etc.). Cons: 1. Twice as wide and heavier on my wrist than the Flex. The skin under it gets itchy sometimes because it's hotter to wear. Because it's rubber and it buckles, it's not as easy to put on as a regular watch. 2. CANNOT SHOWER WITH IT. Instructions say not to and every review I've read where someone has, it hasn't worked as well. I always showered with my Flex and therefore didn't have to remember to put it back on afterward. 3. Mine has not held a charge for 5 days like it said it does. With the Flex I always had it on and it was never a bother. Now I have a few more enhancements, but the price is higher and there is less comfort and convenience.

This was a great upgrade from my original Fitbit. The addition of a heart rate monitor has made what was already a good fitness tracking device, into a great one. It syncs via Bluetooth to your smartphone and the Fitbit app not only keeps track of your activity, it also lets you find and challenge others which can help in keeping you motivated when competing or challenging another person (for me,it's usually my spouse).

Not great in areas of high humidity

Works great keeping track of steps, miles (once you calibrate it) and the app helps with calorie intake, however, I'm on my 4th replacement in less than a year. The band near the displays peels away and looks terrible, and then eventually falls apart. This is due to the high humidity and excessive sweat if you really work out hard wearing this product. Fitbit has admitted the product defect to me, and has replaced it each time with no issues, however, I'm positive that it will not last more than 3 months once the warranty expires. I would rather spend a few more dollars and purchase a Garmin Vivosmart HR which is water resistant and comparable to the Charge HR.

    Love my Fitbit charge!

I've had a Fitbit before but the charge will take your heart rate which is great to gauge when you have hit your fat burning zone. I Ike it because it is a smaller foot print on the wrist. Also love the sleep tracker! Activity trackers are awesome. Really helps to get you moving when you have immediate feedback with how many steps you've taken. My goal is to always hit 10,000 steps! With this I hit it most Days.

This model of the Fitbit is perfect. It has all of the essentials. The heart rate monitor is worth the extra money. If you're debating between the apple watch and the Fitbit, get the Fitbit if you're really looking for an exercise watch that motivates you. Challenges between friends for who has the most steps really motives me. If you want to be distracted by everything else on your phone, get the apple watch.

    Great Fitness Tool

I purchased one of these because our new health plan portal links to the FitBit platform. I wish I would have gotten one sooner. I have been active over the past year, getting back into shape, and this is a great tool for motivation - especially if you don't have a workout partner. Setup is easy, it works well, and syncs to both my PC and iPhone. Having the heatrate montor is worth the price alone.

    great fitness tracker

The fitbit charge hr does what it says it does...tracks activity, sleep, and heartrate. It also allows for corrections and additions (such as additional exercises, sleep, etc.). The app is a great addition that I have come to rely on to track my activity. It is nice to go back and see what you have done over time. Several issues bring it down a star though, including the high price ($150 seems a bit much for what you get) and the hr monitor does not always track consistently or accurately. You have to interpret the readings casually, particularly when exercising, as lots of movement for any purpose other than walking throws it off. Overall though, Fitbit is definitely a useful fitness tool.

I LOVE IT!!! I always knew I had issues sleeping, but not this bad. I also love the caller ID feature. The only "issue" I had was the sizing. I'd like to think I have small wrists, but the small did not fit, had to get a large.

The Charge HR records everything I could need to keep track of my health stats. The heart rate monitor is decent I think I've only had an issue once or twice in the 5 months I've had it where it couldn't read my heart rate during my work out. The one annoying thing is that if you let the battery die completely it is a pain to turn it back on. I usually have to recharge it for about an hour and to get it to turn on it has to still be plugged in to the usb. Any time I have tried to turn it back on after removing it from the charger it just won't turn on. Also sometimes you have to keep the button held down for a good 30-45 seconds before it comes back on. I recommend the Charge HR but I also recommend you keep it charged so you don't have to go through the hassle of turning it back on.

I really like the product. I tried the Fitbit Surge watch first but it was too bulky. I find that it does motivate me to do more walks and cardio exercise. I love the heart rate monitor. I have compared it to the heart rate monitor on the treadmill at the gym and the two reading are usually within 2-3 beats. My wife also is really enjoying her Fitbit Charge HR. We do daily walks together now.

I've really enjoyed having this Fitbit model for the 6months that I have had it. It is sleek on the wrist. My favorite feature is the caller id. If my hands are full or I'm in a meeting I can quickly and discretely decide if I need to take the call or not just by checking the wrist. Great product but I would wait for price to go down form original.
