Good update from the 1st fitbit

This item does exactly what I wanted it to do. The only reason for a 4* is because of the battery life. It usually lasts about 4 days before I have to recharge. Also, because the port is plugged into my computer in the back of the house it rarely syncs unless it's by my phone. But, this is exactly what I wanted a good tracker for my steps!

    Not Ready for Primetime

First let me say that I love FitBit. I've used the "One" model for over a year. Their app and scale are second to none. I was excited to get a CR. The accuracy for heart rate and steps makes this device worthless in my opinion. The max heart rate was understated as much as 40-50 beats/min compared to Polar FT50. I expected it to be less accurate when compared to a chest-strap device, but not that far off. When comparing steps to even a FitBit One, it was off by 20% (overstating my activity during light activity periods). Worse than that it was inconsistent. When exercising more heavily, the CR lost almost 30% of my activity when compared to the One. Challenges are meaningless. Did I really win or just have a device that overstates activity. Bottom line, you might as well make up your own numbers for steps, calories and heart rate if you have a CR. Your made-up numbers will likely be just as accurate.

I recently had some health issues and decided I would bite the bullet and purchase one of these. I wanted the "HR" for the heart rate monitor. It has become addictive working every day to get those 10K in steps. Battery Life is pretty good over all, have to charge it about every 4th day, I sweat a lot and haven't had any issues like some with it getting wet and ruined.

    Great pedometer and sleep tracker

This product makes for a great pedometer and sleep tracker but I was very disappointed in the heart rate monitor (not accurate) and that was the primary reason I purchased it. Also it caused a rash on my wrist if worn for more that 4 or 5 days at a time I kept having to move it from wrist to wrist, it does do a lot of stuff it's advertised to do that's why I gave it a 3, but overall not happy with this product.

    Not worth it

Was anxiously awaiting the arrival of the Charge HR. Best buy employees were nice enough to set it up and sync it to my phone. Brought it home. What a disappointment. Cheap band. Display is so small that someone with bad eyesight would need reading glasses. Heart rate and sleep times were never accurate. Returned to Best Buy after 2 weeks.

Does not function as stated by Fitbit

    Posted .

    1. The Charge HR does not count steps correctly. I've had fitness devices in the past and know how to use them. I've followed the rules, tried both wrists, and simply walking 100 steps, counting 1, 2, 3, 4, ..., 100 yields an 89 step count for me. That's terrible as it's an 11% error. 2. The marketing and sales information states it will synch with your iPhone, Android, or Windows device. Not really, it will pass the data through those devices to the Fitbit cloud (if operational see #3) and then display that data on the listed devices, as well a web interface. None of the interfaces have all the information, so you'll need to use multiple interfaces to get all your data. 3. The Charge HR did not work to collect Heart Rate history intermittently yesterday (7-6-2016) and from about 8am today (7-7-2016) through at least 3:30PM this afternoon ET. At which point I took the device off and requested a refund. This is not useful. 4. As you gain more history, the synch takes longer and longer. Indeed I've had it fail to synch, even when I'm 2 feet from the device and 4 feet from the internet router. No way it's a technical failure in my equipment. 5. The App to calculate your route is terrible and miscalculates by 10% at least, for the distance you travel. The GPS information stored is terribly inaccurate. Thus making it nearly useless. I checked several routes via multiple methods and the App was wrong. Others have reported this. The app literally maps the route with seemingly random paths. I've seen it cut 1/8 of a mile off before a turn. It's clearly taking snapshots of GPS data and interpolating the path. 6. Heart Rate data is off, Resting Heart Rate is at least, wait for it, 10% high. 7. The Charge HR does not function according to the specifications in any way. Nothing works within a reasonable tolerance for a consumer product. +-10% is not acceptable, except for a toy perhaps. Was there no quality control before these things shipped? I feel it is important to stress this so others are not fooled. The reviewers, who use these for a few days, might think it's working just fine. But after a few weeks, it becomes clear they don't work as advertised. Thanks for reading, for the record, I've got 34 years in the tech industry, and I've reviewed technical devices and software, and this is not a good piece of technology. I am completely disappointed.

Enjoy product, band is only negative

I have enjoyed the use of my FitBit Charge HR. Easy to setup and works with no issues. Only drawback is that with heavy use, the band splits away from the LCD screen or you will get a bubble in the band. This is a known issue that FitBit can correct so recommend calling FitBit if within the 1 year product warranty.

My only complaint about this product is the price. I love the sleep tracker and this feature is honestly what makes the fitbit worth it. Charges really fast so you can charge while you're showering and the device is good for the whole day.

I love my fitbit charge hr. My only complaint is.....I bought a large based on reviews and have found it is way bigger than I expected. I am an average sized female and should have bought a small. But other than that! I love it! It functions as expected and exactly what I was looking for.

Switched over to this band after my jawbone snapped in half. Has a lot more tracking options than my jawbone did and seems to work better. My only complaint is battery life. It only lasts about half as long as my jawbone did, but other than that, I like it.

    Defective!

This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

Purchased this as a gift, and it was defective. Contacted Fitbit for assistance with the three issues Wrong Date and Time, Not Syncing correctly (reinstalled app as directed and still failed to sync) and would track then deduct stairs within 30 days of purchase. Fitbit stated our stairs weren't high enough 10 feet for them to register. Since then have contacted FitBit three times to no avail. Also, we tried to exchange at Bestbuy and they informed us that we only could do that within 30 days since I was only elite. It was day 33. Needless to stay, won't purchase a Fitbit, nor will I consider another purchase from Bestbuy for fear that something will happen and they won't allow an exchange on a defective product.

had this for 5 months now and is working pretty well. it is not waterproof but is definitely splash proof. wore it during light rain couple times and still worked fine. one thing fitbit can definitely improve on is making the screen scratch resistant.
