    Replaced 2 times now

The band bubbles up beside the screen. This has happened 2 times now. I'm on my third one. Fitbit has replaced them only because I'm still under my original warranty. What's going to happen after that I don't know. Don't think they are going to give me my money back so I can purchase something else.

    A flawed, defective product

This product is defective! The band starts detaching from the unit over time. This is usually described as the band bubbling or peeling. I'm on my 3rd device in just over a year, and all 3 have had the same problem. Fitbit support will only replace the units from 1 year of the original purchase date. The original device was purchased in store at Best Buy.

This is a great product. My only complaint is the wrist band doesn't hold up. It becomes unglued and stretches out of place.

    INACCURATE! Total waste of $

    Posted .

My husband got me a Fitbit HR as a birthday gift in April. I immediately noticed it was very inaccurate. For example, I would go up and down the stairs several times and it would only record it once or twice. I would put the fitbit on, not moving, look down and it would show I took 65 steps. So it was recording data incorrectly in both over and under reporting. In June, I called Fitbit Customer Service. After a 45 minute wait on hold, they said the Fitbit I had was defective and sent me a new Charge HR. Again, I noticed the new Fitbit was inaccurate in both over and under recording data. I went on a 3 mile walk today and pressed the button to record the exercise before I left. Throughout the hour, I would look down at my fitbit and see it was recording the activity. However, when I got home I went to sync with the app on my phone and it said 0 steps, 0 miles, etc. I walked 3 miles!! I called Customer Service today and he acted like he couldn't understand what I was saying and asked if I was wearing the Fitbit at the time of exercise. Really? He was absolute no help. Total waste of $100+!!

I was disappointed with this, after three days got no heart rate reading. It's was the main reason for buying.

    Does not work!

The caller ID function does not work with my Wife's cell phone. After a week of trying to get it to work and contacting Fitbit they finally told me it would not work because her cell phone is not supported. They should have told me this fact before I bought it. This function was one of the primary reasons I wanted it to alert my Wife she has a call. She doesn't always hear her phone when it is in her purse. Also, the Fitbit interferes with the function of the Bluetooth Phone System in my Wife's car which I finally figured out. She now has to take it off her wrist and put it into a steel box when in the car so it won't interfere. Neither Fitbit or Best Buy warned me of these potential problems before I bought it.

    Doesn't really work

The HR monitoring is totally useless, it can be 50 beats off (lower) when you exercise. Fitbit knows this, they have gotten many complaints but are not doing anything about it. The sleep monitoring is not very useful either. This is a very expensive step counter.

    GREAT TRACKER WHEN IT WORKS

    Posted .

This really is an excellent tracker, and the link to the phone or laptop is also excellent. The problem is the reliability of the device. I purchased 2 HRs (wife and me) for Christmas 2015. It is now August 2015 - I have had 3 replace HRs from FITBIT and just ordered the 4th for my wife. Problems range from the tracker falling apart to the software just locking up. I will say that the Customer Service is excellent. I feel sorry for them having to deal with such an unreliable product. Our warranty runs out in Dec. Luckily I purchased the 2 yr replacement warranty from Best Buy. I would not recommend this product to anyone. Our next tracker will NOT be a FITBIT.

    Poor design keeps breaking

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

I have had to have my fitbit replace 3 times now in the last 6 months with exactly the same issue. The clip over the area on the back where you plug in the charger keeps breaking off. While it is acceptable that they replace it each time free of charge, it is a hassle to have to call them up once again and get it replaced with exactly the same issue. You would think they would recognize the design flaw, fix it, and upgrade or at least give a full credit towards an upgraded unit without the issue. But know, they just keep replacing it with the exact same model design which breaks in exactly the same way a month or two later. I would recommend avoiding any fitbit product. While a faulty rushed product design can plague a company, this one seems to refuse to learn from it.

The fitbit charger HR is a broken product like most of their products. I have owned both the original and the HR both are poorly made and don't keep their charge. Just save your money and buy an Apple Watch.

    Drastically Undercounts & Poor Support

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

My charge hr drastically undercounts while on walks, typically by 30%. I have dealt with fitbit support and I am on my third tracker. All three have had the same undercounting issue. Instead of sending me a 4th replacement, they said "this is not the device for you" and recommended a clip on version. They are at least sending me a refund. Their support is unorganized and they lost my case for over three weeks, even though I was checking in every few days. Disappointed in the device and even more disappointed in fitbit support.

I have had the Charge HR for just over a year and then the touch screen stopped working, not allowing me to see anything on the display screen. Because it only has a 1-year warranty, Fitbit will not replace or help at all with your device.... no matter what defectiveness your device has. I was told that I need to buy the Blaze or Surge, otherwise there's a very good chance this will happen again. What's the point of purchasing a device that will end up messing up after a year?

Broke in less than 5 months no warranty support

    Posted .

Got this as a Christmas present form my wife. It broke in less than 5 months, they will honor warranty only if you buy trackers directly from their website so best buy is a no go. It cannot track calories by itself i.e on elliptical machines and many other activities- you have to manually enter it and there is no easy way to do this- only good if you run or walk. If you get sweaty when you exercise the heart rate will not show up sometimes. PS customer service if you cannot replace this don't bother with the tech support, I would rather spend time working out.

Inaccurate Tracking and poor Best Buy practices

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

When I counted steps and compared it to the tracker it was way off. It also inaccurately records sleep and, once, when I had it off for the day, it showed I had slept for 14 hrs. When I went to return it only 20 days after purchasing it due to these issues, Best Buy gave me a store credit but refused to refund my money even though Fitbit said they should. Thumbs up for Fitbit but way down for Best Buy.

Has anyone ever checked the accuracy of this device? This device does not count any exercise accurate. It will count 22 stairs I walked while I was watching an outdoor concert. Many studies show the heart rate is not correct.

If I could give this zero stars I would. I have had two of these since Christmas. The first one did not work at all. The second one has worked for 4 months and not been used very much at all. I would never purchase this again.
