I bought this to use as a step counter, and to be the official judge in a contest between my 12 yr old and me to see who went further in a 24 hour period. I couldn't figure out why she was winning by 1000's each time... Well she figured out that there's no need to walk because every time that your arm moves in a forward and back motion it counts a step. So she would play catch or just move her hands while seated and her numbers just soared. Very inaccurate and I would not recommend or purchase again had I known that 1st.

This Fitbit Band is a great idea but it's only made to last about 6 months. After that, the band starts to separate from the main assembly. I am happy I got the Geeksquad warranty which covered from Fitbit's poor craftsmanship.

I wasn’t impressed with this Fitbit. The band separated from the Fitbit which allowed moisture to accumulate and eventually render the Fitbit inoperable.

I returned this product after 3 days of use. Would only hold a charge for about 30 hours and then would be dead. It did seem to keep track of steps accurately but the floor feature was a total dud. It said I climbed 15 floors one day when I had not climbed 1. My other complaint is that if you have a very petite wrist like mine it was really wide and got caught on sleeves and coats a lot. It fit tight but stuck out about 4mm on both sides of wrist. Sleep feature was very nice and quite accurate.

This product does not last at all. We are on our third FitBit in a year. The company has been good at replacing them when they break (which is why I'm giving them 2 stars), but the quality is just not there.

As they say, there's room for improvement. Software was great, but hardware was not. Control button came off of both the first fitbit and its replacement. Not from misuse. AARP member.

Returned this one for a different color.
However the one that I got in another color did not work right out of box and customer service I rated as a -10. Twice on hold for well over 1hr and 30min. then they disconnected the call. Finally on the 3 day i tried and waited over 2 hrs. The person who finially picked up had no clue how to make the watch work. He told me to bring it back to Best Buy and exchange it. I told him if that is the best you can do then I will return for credit and purchase a different brand GARMIN and it LOOKS and WORKS great!

This Fitbit is not accurate. The heart rate is way off and it counts steps that don't happen. I tried to take this back after 33 days, to Best Buy Okemos, just this week and they declined. Tyler at the front desk told me I only had 15 days to return the item and no exceptions. ??? I'm very unsatisfied with Best Buy.

I tried this Fitbit first. It fit ok, but for the heart monitor part, it put too much pressure on my wrist. I guess my wrist is too thin for this one. Trying the larger one.

Purchased Fitbit Charge HR 5/4/16 (on-line). Best Buy had a Sale on the same item in June (on-line). A normal return or exchange would be 31 - 60 days at most other stores. Went to Pt. Charlotte store and was told to go home and contact BB on-line as I bought it on-line and picked it up at the Pt. Charlotte store. Now, I am told it is past a 15 day purchase period. I don't feel that I am asking for anything unreasonable by asking for a Price Match. Paid $149. / Sale $119. I am asking for a $30. refund.

I purchased a new Fitbit flex in March. After wearing it 4 weeks, I lost it due to very poor clasp. I contacted Fitbit, they would offer no support. Since I am under doctors orders to track my steps I made the decision to purchase the Fitbit charge HR. The strap at least does not come undone. After a week of trying to get the Fitbit synced with my phone and I-pad and many hours with the help desk, they said the Fitbit I purchased at Best Buy was not compatible with my software on my phone.

Love the Concept but the HR is lacking for fitness

For those of you who asked me to let you know my workout results with my new fitbit Charge HR, here they are! First off let me say that I absolutely love the fitbit charge hr. I love that it tracks your sleep accurately, calories, steps, etc. I think it is a great tool to help aid a person in getting or staying healthy because it shows you exactly what you are doing to and putting in your body.
Now for the bad part: I was extremely disappointed during my workout today. I wore both my Polar Watch and my fitbit. I did cardio on the open stride machine and then did HIIT/Tabatta with kettlebells and ropes. During the cardio it took the fitbit almost 7 minutes into the workout to catch up to the polar watch. The Polar was reading at 170 and the fitbit was still at 124bpm. Not good. Once it finally did catch up, it actually continued to stay almost the same as the Polar watch.
Once I started doing the Tabatta/HIIT workout, the fitbit didn’t really work at all. It never reached the HR that the Polar did the entire time. The Polar was up to 175 and the fitbit was still at 120 or less. My total workout time was 60 minutes and the total calories on the fitbit was 531 compared to 680 and my Polar.
So, obviously I’m going to have to look like a dork and wear two watches to work out with. Once I got home I updated the fitbit dashboard with the extra 179 calories that the fitbit was missing, but I had to add an extra activity.
I really, really wish I could wear just one watch for everything and this unfortunately doesn't cut it.

I agree with all the great reviews as this is just an awesome, useful and actually fun product. I also agree the battery could last longer, the band should come in a medium size and the screen could be a bit bigger....but what doesn't have its downsides!? The Charge HR is worth the money and time to learn how to best use it for your needs. For me, I use it to check the time constantly (2 taps and it shows up clearly on the screen), to time my workouts, to check my step progress during the day and to check my heart rate....I have also had it long enough for the "honeymoon" period to end and I still love it as much (or more!) than ever. If you are genuinely wanting to live healthier, move more and be more accountable about it all, this is a great "assistant" to have on your team!

After one year my Jawbone Up kicked the dust, so I was band-less for over a month. After my awful Jawbone experience, I decided to switch over to the Fitbit, since it seems to have a much longer life span. Having decided on the Fitbit Charge HR, I couldn't wait for the it to be released, so as soon as I saw it was available at Bestbuy.com, I went ahead and ordered it. I got it New Years Eve and have been tracking my steps since. It's really motivated me to reach my 10,000 step goal. It counts steps accurately--much more so than the Jawbone Up. As I take a step, I can see my step count increase. Awesome!
The heart rate monitor is also very accurate--the results match my Garmin (with the chest strap). They're so accurate, that I've stopped using the Garmin and only use the Fitbit now when I run. It's nice to be able to see how my heart rate changes throughout the day--while I'm resting, during exercise, and especially after I've exercised. I can really see the effect that a good work out has on my heart rate for the rest of the day.
The steps climbed is also accurate. People who complained should read the following article: http://help.fitbit.com/articles/en_US/Help_article/How-does-my-tracker-count-floors.
The sleep tracking is ok. It's not as good as the Jawbone Up's, but still informative. The silent alarm wakes you right when you set it. It doesn't have the Jawbone Up's ability to wake you during light sleep vs deep sleep, which was a nice feature.
The caller ID on the band is also super useful--especially when my phone is on silent, so I don't realize it's ringing until my band buzzes and displays the caller ID. This is one feature that I hadn't thought I'd get much use out of, but so far is awesome!
The app is also super cool! It's so easy to view your progress, add friends, and create challenges. The challenge are the best! I'm super competitive, so they really motivate me to move. If you're looking to improve your fitness level or just want to track how you're doing, the Fitbit Charge HR is for you!!!
